Chapter 342: 342—Threatening Gao Tinghua
As soon as Han Leifeng stepped in and closed the door, Gao Tinghua asked coolly, "So, what brings your distinguished self over?"
Han Leifeng sighed, "Tinghua, I've been trying to reach you for a while now."
Gao Tinghua spoke after sitting down, "You should have known I was avoiding you. I don't have time to waste."
Han Leifeng felt annoyed but decided not to talk about it, "I don't know what is happening, but it seems your parents are angry with me."
Gao Tinghua laughed before saying, "Who are you? Why would my parents be angry with you? Do they know you?"
Han Leifeng took a deep breath, "Tinghua, I know your sister and I have pending issues between us, but does that warrant your family attacking my company?"
Gao Tinghua took his time booting up the computer that had already been shut down when he planned to leave for the day. Since he had been forced to come back, he might as well work further.
When the computer came on, he finally turned to his visitor, "I guess they're just planning to clear out the trash, it's nothing personal."
"Tinghua, mind your words."
Gao Tinghua wanted to laugh, "If I don't even have the freedom to talk in my office, would I still be a man? I'm not like someone I know oh."
Han Leifeng tried and failed to hold on to his temper, "What your family is up to is illegal! It's in our best interests to resolve our matters without affecting the company's interests, else, don't blame me for fighting dirty!"
Gao Tinghua didn't even flinch, he just dug out his ears leisurely, "Now you can stand here and shout? If you were so powerful, why didn't you head straight to the family mansion? My father would have been on hand to welcome you."
Almost too calmly, Han Leifeng rebutted, "Are you sure that's where he would be? Not with his pregnant mistress?"
Gao Tinghua's fingers paused in action and he looked up. For a few moments, his face was creased in a frown, so much so that Han Leifeng thought he was about to explode.
Then he abruptly let out an almost boyish grin, "I see you're in the information industry. Not bad. But unfortunately, that bit of information is nothing. You would need something more explosive if you want to divert attention.
"Besides, don't forget that two can play the game. It's not like the Han family is squeaky clean either. I'd tread carefully if I were you."
Unable to ruffle his feathers at all, Han Leifeng decided to retreat for now and regroup. He would be back.
But before leaving, he dropped some words, "Gao Tinghua, your family must understand that what is going on is strictly between me and Yueran. You all have no business butting into our personal affairs. If you push me too far, it would be bad for everyone. Besides, Yueran's son—your parents' grandson — still has my blood flowing in his veins. We are family!"
Gao Tinghua couldn't muster a trace of panic or concern. What a joke! After facing off with the mysterious organization and winning, who was this wet-behind-the-ears illegitimate son to threaten him?
"If you're done, that's the door. If you're not, be done and use it."
As Han Leifeng stormed out, Gao Tinghua happily added, "Instead of threatening the innocent bystanders and generally constituting a nuisance, why don't you go in search of the big boss?"
Han Leifeng paused again, a horrible feeling growing within, "What do you mean?"
"Oh, you really didn't think that it was just us putting the pressure on your company right? Can't you see we have our own issues? Seems your information network isn't that good after all," Gao Tinghua mocked.
He was not just spouting rubbish. When Li Chuanmo went wild, he was like a crazy bulldog, biting every one on sight. Due to Gao Lanmei's involvement in the fiasco, Li Chuanmo didn't spare her either.
One of the subsidiaries of the Gaoyi Group, the one that Gao Lanmei was in charge of, was currently feeling a lot of heat, causing the headquarters to have no choice but to lend a helping hand.
Or at least pretend they were helping.
In all honesty, Gao Tinghua couldn't care less if that subsidiary company declared bankruptcy. Anyway, his aunt would never relinquish her hold on it in her lifetime. But they had to keep up a facade for now.
It was the sound of the door slamming after Han Leifeng's exasperated departure that brought Gao Tinghua out of his reverie.
Mouth curving upwards, he said, "Good riddance!"
Once he got into the car and buckled his seatbelt, Han Leifeng took a deep breath and punched the steering wheel so hard that it gave a sickening sound on impact.
"D*MN!"
At this point, if he still couldn't guess who the other party was, his brain would have just been a waste of space.
The question was, what could he do?
If neither pleading nor threats worked, would he just have to watch the inheritance he sacrificed so much for go down the drain like that?
He just couldn't.
He kept his eyes closed, searching methodically through his mind, sifting for any information that could help him out if this mess.
Then minutes later, he paused and his eyes opened.
He had no other choice at this point, he had become desperate.
If he had to dine with the devil, so be it. He would just have to make sure that his spoon was extra long.

"I can't believe you're leaving already. It was such a great weekend," Su Qianhua grumbled as the car sped on. They were escorting Li Chuanmo and Pei Yueran to the airport.
"It really was," Pei Yueran agreed. "Don't worry, we'll keep in touch."
Perhaps happy to see the pretty face in his field of vision, David gave a toothless grin as he grabbed onto her left index finger, making Pei Yueran's smile widen. This boy was so adorable that it made her heart melt.
"When will your maternity leave be over?" She asked Su Qianhua.
"Next week. I'm so looking forward to it." Kathy was also leaving in a few days, so it would be left to Jiang Philip to take care of David alone.
Su Qianhua was rest assured leaving her son in the hands of his experienced father.
Pei Yueran smiled as she cuddled David in her arms. It was a miracle that Su Qianhua had stayed still at home for this long already.
"Don't forget to keep an eye on my mother please," Pei Yueran said after a few moments, while Su Qianhua nodded.
