Chapter 346: 346— We're Pregnant!
"Chuan not now, I'm seriously feeling — AHH!"
She was still talking tiredly when something like a strong bolt of electric current zapped a straight path from her chest to her brain. She didn't know when she cried out.
Her cry of near pain startled the both of them. Li Chuanmo's restless hand that was gripping one soft peak dropped it as if it was scalding hot iron.
"What is it?" He asked anxiously. Was she really sick?
Pei Yueran frowned, "I don't know. It just felt very sensitive, almost painful in fact."
He didn't even squeeze her very hard, so why? Li Chuanmo's brain was almost in overdrive as he thought of possible reasons for her pain.
In a split second, he made a decision, "This won't do, let's go to the hospital."
Pei Yueran: "..."
I don't think it's that serious? I just feel tired and need some rest. There's no need to go all the way to the hospital."
She had already vowed to steer clear from hospitals. It seemed like only a few days ago that she was hospitalized in the Capital. Whatever affinity she seemed to have with that establishment that usually reeked of pungent antiseptics, she was ready to break it now.
But Li Chuanmo was very adamant, "Would you walk or should I carry you to the car?"
Seeing his set expression, Pei Yueran's unreasonableness reared its head from nowhere, "I've said I'm not going anywhere. If you insist, it's up to you, but don't expect me to appreciate it."
After speaking, she directly turned her back to him and closed her eyes, but her hands were fisted. Quick tears sprung to her eyes, surprising her for a moment. She had always thought that she wasn't one to cry at the drop of a hat.
Li Chuanmo also calmed down and sat down again, holding her hand, "You know it's only because I care about you. It's frightening to see you sick, that's why I don't want to risk it."
He had not forgotten how frightened he had been the last time. He wasn't ready to leave anything to chance.

He thought quickly before saying, "Then let's compromise: How about I invite Doctor Xu over?"
Pei Yueran had no choice but to nod. He had already compromised this much, she also had to take a step back. Since Doctor Xu was also a family friend, she could just regard it as a courtesy visit.
After gaining her approval, Li Chuanmo worked swiftly. In about half an hour, Doctor Xu had arrived and was conducting a physical examination.
He first asked her some questions, then examined her before he finally drew some blood samples.
"It could be that the Young Madam is just tired and needs some rest, but just to rule it out, she needs to take a pregnancy test."

He mentally calculated her cycle quickly and realized that her period hadn't come for more than two months now. Silly him, he was just enjoying the unhindered access and forgot to ask why.
He had never even considered the possibility of her being pregnant at all, but once it came out, the thought made him giddy. He couldn't wait to confirm it.
On her part, Pei Yueran froze. Could it really be that? Why didn't it ever occur to her? She looked at Li Chuanmo, and judging by the excited, almost hopeful look on his face, it was obvious he had calculated the possiblity and was happy with the results.
She was almost ashamed to admit that he knew her cycle even better than she did.
She thought back to her first and only pregnancy. Since she and Han Lei were eager for children, she had taken note of even the smallest change in her body. So at the time her period was merely two days late, she already had a stash of pregnancy test kits in the bathroom.
Han Yichen was just as quiet when he was a fetus as he was now. The only discomfort she had felt were backaches as the pregnancy advanced. That was why she didn't associate her constant tiredness with pregnancy at all. Moreover, she had almost given up hope on that front.
Still, she tried not to get ahead of herself. Nothing had been confirmed yet.
But Chairman Li was already working on that. When poor Gong Anwei came back from one of the most awkward errands he had ever run in his life, Pei Yueran was shocked.
She stared open-mouthed as packets of pregnancy test kits fell like rain out of the shopping bag. There were different types—the rapid test, the digital ones, the strips, everything. Did he perhaps empty that section of the supermarket?
"I told him to buy as many as he could find," Li Chuanmo said sheepishly with a hint of eagerness.
Pei Yueran nodded speechlessly and went into the bathroom, while Dr Xu smiled as he watched Li Chuanmo pace outside.
Someone was sure anxious.
When Li Chuanmo felt like he could no longer wait so passively, he took a deep breath, opened the bathroom door and peeked, "Is everything okay?"
Pei Yueran looked up and solemnly handed him the three test kits she had used. Heart pounding, he looked at them.
The rapid test kit had a big "+" sign right in the middle of it. The test strip showed two lines, and just in case Li Chuanmo was still in doubt, the digital test kit showed "pregnant" in bold letters.
She was truly pregnant.
Stunned, both of them looked at the other person with identical foolish expressions.
Then Li Chuanmo suddenly broke into a wide smile and scooped her up and swung her around, "We're going to be parents for the third time!!!!"
Excited as well, Pei Yueran's smile dazzled, though she started feeling dizzy and nauseous pretty quickly. Seeing her face scrunch up, Li Chuanmo put her down as if she was fragile porcelain.
"Thank you so much Honey, thank you," Li Chuanmo said with emotion. He was sure that he didn't want a baby to interrupt their newlywed life before, but now that the baby was here, he was overwhelmed by wonder.
Pei Yueran teared up as well. She was so thankful that words failed her. There was no way to put her powerful emotions into words.
Their private moment had to end since Doctor Xu was still outside waiting for them. As soon as they stepped out of the bathroom, Li Chuanmo announced proudly, "We're pregnant!"
