Chapter 3: I don't know
Looking at her confused face he smiled after a long time and he said " I am the one who got the pleasure to meet you princess Merry ". After hearing this she got even more tangled in her thoughts.
" Well, getting to the point, we were to meet this evening" he said it clearly and Merry suddenly reminded of her father's words .
" A-Are you lord Maximilian?" She asked hesitatingly with her eyes looking in his eyes.
" Yes Miss, it's a pleasure to meet you. "he confirmed . Lowering his head he kissed her hand as cultural etiquette but he followed it for first time in his life .
" oh yes ni...nice to meet you ."she replied with a shaking voice and she was so shy by his sudden action which made Max lift his lips a little and he suddenly realised he had been smiling a lot today.
"Sorry for arriving late " he said with disappointed voice .
" No..No. it's tha... thanks to you that I am safe ri..right now." she replied with shaking voice .
Max found that Merry stutter time to time and he also figured out that she was quite fragile.He glared at the mark on back of her neck which appeared red because of that man grip.He frowned.
" But still..." Max was about to say something but he got interrupted by his assistant Lenin .
" Sir we have sent him to the royal prison and tomorrow we will send the message to his family ." Lenin informed Max .
"Bu..but h..he belongs to royal family. " Merry said with a scared face because she knew Cedric comes from royal family and arresting him will definitely bring a lot of problems to whoever was involved.
"Whoever he is ,it doesn't matter to me princess." Max replied with a smirk .
"Y..You don't ha.hav.have to involve yourself in danger because of me." Merry said with tense eyes which made Max surprised and shocked at the same moment.
" I am quite surprised that my future wife don't even know my power ." he said with a little laugh .His genuine laugh suddenly made his assistant surprise to see his lord laugh .And Merry' s heart felt something very different by his smile.
" So..Sorry I di.. didn't mean to o.o.offend you." Merry apologised with her head down .
" don't apologise I am not offended.Just remember that this person in front of you has no such royal rank but someone by whom many people fear and this is my power.So I can do anything you need with this power." Max said it as it was some kind of promise he made with her.His words left Merry speechless as she was not sure how to respond.
He ordered his soldiers to get going.
" Princess if you don't mind can we go on my horse because the carriage is not in condition to move." Max asked Merry to go with him on his horse as the carriage was totally destroyed by the earlier events.
" I .I don't .know h..how to thank you." Merry said being embarrassed by how much she was feeling helpless today.
" You don't need to ,It's my responsibility." he said and took Merry hand and moved towards his horse .
" Here hold my hand ." he offered his hand to Merry to help her to get on the horseback .She held his hand and he held her waist very gently so she can not get unbalanced.While lifting her up Max felt like he was lifting a feather.
" Th.. Thank you." she thanked him and he also jumped on the horse and sat behind her and commanded his assistant to move forward.
