Chapter 10: Arsenal

A chatter of students surrounded the room as they talked among themselves about what weapon they'll be choosing.

But it soon died down as Ms.Liana entered the room.

"Alright, students, simmer down, as you probably figured out this is the day where you will choose a weapon you'll be channeling your aura's into, but first,"

Ms. Liana then took a dagger out of her pocket.

"Without aura, this is just a normal dagger, it can maybe stab someone, and that its, but with aura,"

A scarlet red aura suddenly surrounded Ms. Liana, but all of it soon centered and coated around the dagger.

She then threw it onto a training dummy in the room.

As soon as it made contact with the dummy, it exploded into tiny pieces leaving the students speechless.

"It is able to do that, I will give you 10 minutes to grab a weapon of your choosing, choose wisely as it will affect your combat style."

The students immediately made their way to the weapons they set their eyes on.

Some of them went for the more flashy weapons such as the katana and scythes, others went for the spear, while some like me were left standing as we were still deciding what weapon would be best suited for us.

After pondering a bit, I finally found my answer, what is a weapon that would go well with a shield?

A simple sword.

I made my way into the arsenal and took one of the longswords that were hanging from it.

As I unsheathe it, it looked like an ordinary longsword, its blade was crafted from steel and there was nothing significant to say about it, it was truly a simple sword.

"I like it"

I suddenly hear a loud thump in the room, I turn my head towards it.

It was Aston, he couldn't properly hold the greatsword he picked off from the wall.

I hear his friends laughing at him saying why would we pick a weapon he can barely even lift.

I snicker at them as they probably wouldn't laugh at him in the future as he would use that very same sword to cut demons like butter.

I then look around the room trying to find Fransesca, and there she was surrounded by her admirers as she inspect the battleaxe she currently has in her hands.

Lastly, The Soldier Of The Sea, Lyan Whitewind, has a spear by his side, so everything seems in place.

The other students who were standing with me earlier have already found their respective weapons, and with that, every student has now successfully chosen their weapons.

"Alright, it seems you guys are done choosing, now all of you now stand over there,"

As I and the other students made our way, I can't help but look at Aston as he drags his greatsword onto the ground making an uncomfortable noise.

"Alright, keep in mind that while you are free to change your respective weapons during your time in the academy, it will greatly affect your combat style and handling of aura, so it is not advised," Ms. Liana said while clearly looking at Aston.

"Anyway, now I will start the official training of your aura, first thing first, and the most important before anything else is for you to be able to contain your aura within you without the help of the bracelet,"

"It is quite simple, your aura will often try to escape your body, so all you need is to grab it by the throat and fight for control, now kindly take off your bracelets,"

As I and the other students took off our bracelets, a scarlet aura instantly filled the room.

Following Ms. Liana's advice I fought the aura that sporadically came out of me, I tried my hardest and used all of my mental strength to keep it in and I succeeded but only for a short while as it came out once again.

"Alright put your bracelets on again,"

As we quickly put on our bracelets almost all of us were left exhausted,

"You would need to get used to fighting for control over your aura, and in due time you would be able to contain it even while you are asleep, so this is the first task that you would have to overcome, this room is free for you to use anytime, and those who succeed-"

Ms. Liana widened his eyes once again.

"It appears that this batch is more gifted than I thought,"

I look around me and see that other than Fransesca there were now 2 other people who were standing tall without a single aura that was leaking from them.

It was Aston and Lyan.

The other students were in awe again as they gaze eyes on them.

Aston looked proud and was making a smug face toward his friends, Lyan on the other hand was indifferent.

"Alright, you three, will now move on to the second task, which is communing with your weapon, and the others keep training and when you succeed tell me and you'll also move on to the second task,"

The other student then continued training while others were still taking a break.

So far, the way of containing the sword stigma aura is vastly different from the shield.

In the shield, you would need to go with the flow of your aura almost like instead of fighting it, you need to be in touch with it.

I snap out of my useless thinking and strengthened my resolve.

I just need to train harder.

I took the bracelet off again and started to fight for control once again.
