Chapter 43: I don’t understand..
(Tess POV(still))
"Umm well.." I said as I scratched my head a little while chuckling awkwardly with my face flushed red.
"Come on! This is on a need to know basis!"
"Is it really. It's just a crush? I don't know if it is but thinking about it makes me feel odd."
"That. Right there. That's love so come one and tell me! Spill!" Catherine said persistently.
"Well I think it might be.. someone you know."
"I know lots of people." Catherine said putting on a bored look. "Just say it. A name."
"K-"
"Go on?"
"Kiera." I said as I quickly turned my head and put my hand to my mouth.
'I said it. Why is it so embarrassing.'
"Omg! You like k-"
"I'm back."
I shot my head round and looked at the door.
"Kiera your back!"
"I just said that."
"How long have you been here?" I asked hoping that Kiera didn't hear me.
"Just now. Why?"
"Ah it's nothing." I said as I ran up to her and gave her a hug.
"I missed you." I said.
"Mhm."
I was expecting Kiera to at least hug back. I mean we are close enough to do that aren't we? We've done it before so why won't she now?
I looked up and Kiera just stood there silent. Her eyes.. there isn't any life in them. It's like she doesn't have a soul. Her face used to have a trace of emotion but now..
"Hey Kiera, are you alright?"
"You could say that." Kiera said as she got out of my grasp and went to her bed.
She went into her wardrobe and took out a black crop top and black joggers. She stripped and put them on.
I watched the whole thing. Not trying to be creepy but she was so.. you know. My eyes were glued to her.
"Hey Kiera have you grown?" I heard Catherine say as she made her way over to Kiera and stood next to her. Kiera currently has her top halfway over her head and turned her head to Catherine.
"Yes I have." She replied as she slipped of her top and replaced it with her crop top.
"Damn your like 5'6! Oh you've got abs too? What the heck have you done to get all this!?" Catherine said as she placed her hand on Kiera's stomach and looked at me.
"Now that you mention it Kiera does look taller." I said looking Kiera up and down stopping my eyes at her stomach.
"Training and growth spirt or something like that. Now I'm going to train. Don't disturb me."
"Can you cook after? I'm hungry and I miss your cooking." Catherine whined
"Whatever." Kiera said as she left.
I walked over to Catherine once Kiera left into the training room.
"Kiera is.. different." I said.
"You think! She is taller and looks much stronger, I mean she has abs and a great body now! What has she been doing while she was gone!" Catherine replied.
"Not that way. Like her personality and her eyes."
"She has been acting a little different. I wonder what's up?" Catherine said as she flopped on her bed.
"I'll ask when she comes back. She looks lifeless."
"I guess so." Catherine said as she flopped onto her bed. "You should try be more discrete about staring though. That was so obvious." She giggled.
"I-it's not my fault!" I said as I felt my face go red.
"Uh huh~"

(Kiera POV)
I finished up my training and my hair and body was drenched in sweat. My scythe training had been going well but it wasn't as quick as I had started. It came naturally to me at the beginning but after that I had no creativeness and hadn't a clue at what to do after.
'I might just learn some techniques for my sword or try another weapon.' I thought as I walked back to the bedroom.
"I'll cook once I've had a shower." I said to Catherine and Tess.
I walked off to the bathroom and I could feel Tess's eyes on me.
'Why is she staring?' I thought since I didn't know why she was staring at me so much. Her eyes were on me as I walked in and got changed as well.
'Do I look odd?' I thought as I took a shower.
The warm water ran down my body as I tilted my head up to the shower head. I felt each and every drop that touched me.
'Seems my sensitivity has increased.' I thought as I ran my hand through my hair.
'Might have to cut my hair soon.'
I hadn't been training in magic much so I decided I would try manipulate all the water droplets that come out from the shower head and make it so they don't even hit me.
It took a while but I managed to do just that and that was it. I decided to get out and cook something for Catherine since she asked and I was assigned 'chef'.
I put on the change of clothes I brought into the bathroom with me and carried the dirty ones to the wash.
As I returned to the kitchen I asked, "what do you want to eat?"
"Chicken!"
"Okay."

We had all finished eating and I decided to sit outside on the balcony again. I looked up at the stars that scattered themselves throughout the night sky, providing a light that shone to the beings bellow.
There was a nice cool breeze that stroked past me every now and then.
"Hey Kiera." I heard Tess behind me.
"Are you alright? You don't seem like your normal self, did something happen?" She asked.
"Its nothing. I won't say it anyway so don't bother." I said not turning around and keeping my eyes glued on the stars.
"I don't think it is nothing though-" Tess said concerned.
"Since I care for you I won't be harsh but I'm not telling anyone. No one knows. I haven't even told Scarlet although she keeps asking." I said to Tess.
'Maybe the goddess knows but I haven't told her so I'm not lying.'
"Alright.. if you ever need someone to talk to.. I'm here okay? Im always an option." Tess said as she walked away.
"I love you.." I heard her whisper under her breath as she closed the door.
'Love huh. I don't understand.'
