Chapter 42: A mysterious visitor?
Ryu was sitting at a bar, drinking, when Kakashi ran over and shouted anxiously "Sasuke's-" before abruptly stopping as Ryu turned his head to him. Kakashi paused and sighed before running off again.
Ryu looked at the sake bottle in his hands and fell silent for a moment before disappearing, only leaving money on the table for the Sake…
A little bit later
Ryu was standing on Madara's head at the valley of the end. He looked down at Sasuke and Naruto clashing with Rasengan and Chidori.
Creating a massive explosion.
It fluttered Ryu's clothes as he watched, both of them fall to the ground, unconscious.
He flickered next to them and squatted down next to Sasuke, caressing his face gently. Sasuke's eyes opened and he looked at Ryu silently, saying "I still… I still lost." Ryu smiled gently and stroked his cheek, saying "You'll lose. And lose, and lose again, but that doesn't mean you should give up. One day, you will win. I believe you will, no matter what happens."
Sasuke swallowed and Ryu seemed to have made a decision, smiling at him, saying "This is the last gift I will give you, Sasuke."
He sealed with his hands quickly before cupping them and breathing out a miniscule flame that was condensing quickly as Ryu's face turned more and more pale.
Finally, Ryu clasped his hands and snorted "Condense!"
Before opening his hands like a flower as a small bean sized ball of shining light floated off his hands. He sealed and pushed the little bean into Sasuke's chest, shouting "Sunlight Burns Brightly!"
Sasuke's eyes widened as the bean merged into his heart and seemed to set him ablaze!
His entire body felt warm and he sat up as Ryu coughed up blood, smiling at him.
Sasuke looked at him worriedly "What did you do!?" Ryu coughed and wiped his mouth, smiling "My flames are very special, nearly 3000 degrees. I transferred half of the heat to you. If your body could hold more, I would've given it all to you."
As he swayed, putting his hand on the ground and coughing bitterly, Sasuke was stunned and held him up, saying anxiously "But why?!" Ryu smiled at him and said "Because you're my son. Do I need any other reason?"
Sasuke froze and burst into tears, gripping Ryu tightly, shaking "But…" Ryu ruffled his head and stood up, smiling "Hurry along… Kakashi is coming." Sasuke got up and clenched his fist, saying bitterly "Thank you!"
He fell to his knees and smashed his forehead on the ground, shouting "Thank you for taking care of me, Father!" Ryu's lips trembled and he forced a smile, waving "Don't embarrass me here, hurry up and leave, you little bastard."
Sasuke looked up at him and bit his lips, hurrying away, picking up his backpack as he disappeared, looking back at Ryu, who smiled and watched him go.
Sasuke shed a tear as he turned his head back, wiping his eyes with his arms as he left.
Ryu stood next to Naruto and took out a cigarette slowly…
Kakashi arrived just in time to see Ryu sparking his lighter to no effect in the rain, he walked over and Ryu turned to him, grinning with closed eyes "Don't you just hate the rain?"
Kakashi picked up Naruto and replied in a low tone, "Yeah…"
"I really do."
The next day
Ryu woke up in a Hospital bed.
He sat up and ripped the tubes and medical devices off his body. The nurses said anxiously "Ryu-sama, please don-" Ryu looked at her with Mangekyou and she trembled, backing off silently as she swallowed.
Ryu stepped out of bed and walked out of the hospital room.
He walked down the hall, passing by Shikamaru and Temari. They looked at him and he ignored them walking through the halls before standing outside, looking at the sky.
His Mangekyou turned before disappearing.
Tsunade's voice rang out from behind him, "You're seriously injured. You should rest."
Ryu replied flatly "I know my body better than you. Maybe you should concentrate on taking care of the injured and being Hokage." before walking away, ignoring her angry glare.
Ryu didn't even bother with her, returning home.
He sat at his desk in a daze, feeling that his 'Origin Flame' was cut in half.
He was probably only able to use half the heat at the moment.
Although, 1500 degrees was a terrifying number, it's nothing compared to 3000… but…
A gentle smile appeared on Ryu's face.
He turned to the books and let out a breath, focusing on writing.
A few days passed silently.
Ryu was writing when he suddenly looked out the window and flashed, disappearing instantly.
He flashed through the air, landing on a fence.
Naruto looked up and said "Hey! Look, I found a funny guy!" There was only another yellow haired kid.
Ryu turned to the distance and flashed after the figure that was running away.
The figure sped up and Ryu chased after him as fast as lightning, directly turning on Mangekyou and exploding in speed, flashing right in front of the figure and sliding on the air as flames covered his feet and hands.
He slid on the air with two feet and one hand, looking at the figure that froze.
The figure wrapped in a cloak said slowly "Using Mangekyou like this will make you blind…" Ryu replied slowly, "Acting gloomy and running away… isn't what I taught you, Sasuke."
Sasuke froze and lifted his head, revealing his face!
Ryu's eyes widened as he saw Sasuke's Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan but… It was on top of a Red Sharinnegan! In both eyes!
Ryu closed his eyes and smiled, "You used the Blood Surging Art very well…" Sasuke's lips quivered and he replied quietly "It was the only thing to-" he stopped speaking and looked at Ryu sadly.
Ryu turned off his Mangekyou and flickered to the Hokage Rock, standing on its head.
Sasuke hesitated before following him.
