Chapter 2: Hubby’s home

"Frankie, I could have the servants get you a room in my wing, I also ordered some warm comfortable clothes for you," she said while she watched her gown as if she didn't consider it warm.

Frankie curved her lips and that's when it dawned on her that it was night time already, and her husband apparently hadn't even made an appearance. Great, not only did she have to stand on the aisle alone stupidly and listened to vows alone but she was also going to live alone in a married life she had stupidly bounded herself into.

"This gown is comfortable," she answered back with finality a silent message to the girl to not bother much.

Time passed, dinner was served, she excused herself in the pretense of having a bad stomach when in reality, she didn't think food could calm the anxiety bubbling within her. What was going to become of her in this foreign country? What if her husband is a cruel man who will imprison her, they were royalty and they could do anything to her and she will never pull through it.

She scratched the bun that her kinky hair had been placed in as she looked at her caramel-colored skin that was becoming pale. This was her first day and she was already suffering? The sound of shoes clinking made her lift her head and she caught the sight of the queen getting in the room, a young blonde man behind him. "Honey, ohm, my son, you husband sent someone to fetch you, I am so sorry you have a stomach upset and you have to travel like this but you see he isn't someone one could disobey, so…"

Frankie gave the woman a tight-lipped smile. "I'll get going," she said and stood up following the young man out.

"So, my name is Magnus, Mag for short, you must the star in Romeo's life."

Wasn't that her husband's name, so, he was close to him? "Yes." She kept her answer short but the guy didn't seem to want to stop talking.

"Must have had a tough day, I know Rome could be quite a headache, didn't even come to the ceremony and…"

Frankie let out an inaudible sigh, if only that man could focus on the road and zip up his mouth for a little bit, then it would be really less stressful. Well not to mention that she realized that the man, she had gotten married to, lived separately from the rest of the family, which should be a good thing in different circumstances except this.

Living alone with a stranger means that he could kill her and she couldn't ask for help or worse no one would stop him or even know about it. Now she was really sweating over that, she looked sideways at Magnus who hadn't shut his mouth since he started to drive back from the palace. "Almost there?" she asked in a bid to stop his chatter on what she didn't even know.

Magnus tilted his head and gave her a smile. "Anxious?"

She shook her head and decided to not press further, it might even end up with this guy giving her advice on how to be a good wife. Leaning on her seat and letting her eyes close shut, she took shallow breathes, she needed those, her body and mind needed those. When she stopped after a while, she realized that the car had stopped, opening one eye after the other, she saw Magnus leaning on the steering well.

"We're here?" she asked and that was when she caught sight of a double storied mansion that made her eyes zero. A glass mansion?

"Yeah, now, the issue, is I do not know whether that rascal is in or not?" he said as he typed on his phone and placed it on his ears. "Yo, Rome, You in or not? What you motherfucker, I am right in front of you damn house! Yeah, I'm coming in." he put his phone in his pocket and smiled at her. "He's in."

Frankie was still replaying his words, he called the prince motherfucker, must be so close to him.

She opened her side of the door for the first time in the day and stepped out. The weather was still cold and chilly, she slowly walked over to Magnus side and stood beside Magnus who was looking up. "Is that him?" she asked in a low tone, looking at the man who was looking at them.

Magnus gave her a tight smile and walked on, the screen door slid open for him and she quickly caught up with him, she kept her eyes in place as she followed Magnus up a flight of stairs to the first floor. "You rascal you can't even come to meet your wife?" Magnus yelled as he took long strides to where he stood. When he turned even Frankie could no longer ignore the beauty in her eyes.

Silver short floppy hair that covered his forehead, blue bright but icy looking eyes, great body, dressed in a long warm looking black robe. When he spoke, she shivered. "You expected me too?" he lifted a brow. Damn, he was cold, obviously rude and arrogant and that was a close person to him, so how was she supposed to stay with him in this great house, her a stranger?

Magnus leaned on the glass balcony. "Come meet hubby, darling," he said beckoning her to get closer.

Frankie momentarily closed her eyes; this was so awkward. She took short, slow steps and stopped when she was a few steps from him. Rome only glanced at her before looking away. Was she so ugly to his face? Suddenly she snapped. "Hey do I look ugly to you?" that came out loud didn't it.? She wanted to die.

Both Magnus and Rome lifted their brows at her and she exhaled sharply, great move. "Wueh, a bold one, this place is going to be fun. Did you eat something darling?"

Rome slightly glared at Magnus before expressionlessly looking at her. "I ordered pizza, you could do with that."

Was there no other thing on the menu? "I don't want pizza."

He gave her a look. "Order something then." He walked away before she could even say anything. What? Order, did he even know that this was a foreign country to her, how was she supposed to know how to order from their country, pretty inconsiderate!

Magnus cleared his throat and that was when she realized that if she wanted to survive, she had to befriend Magnus. "Magnus," she called.

He looked at her. "I said it's Mag."

"Mag. Is there anything I could cook in this house?"

He erupted into a small laughter. "Cook you say, I doubt there are even utensils here. Just order something darling."

And this man had to stop calling her darling. "Can you order it for me, I kind of don't know how to in this area."
