Chapter 99: Chapter 99 The City Of Warriors Part 35

The cheering people's voices in front of the capital city gate began to slowly fade away. Liling, Bao, and Fang, who were standing with everyone in front of the palace gate, slowly disappeared as Lan Huan got closer and closer.

When Lan Huan closed her eyes and tried to recall the past events that had been with her for hundreds of years, those memories seemed to no longer exist. Lan Huan opened her eyes and saw Michio sitting in front of her, still reciting Buddhist scriptures and turning the pages.

Although Lan Huan had been unwilling to let go of the past before, now she understands that the memories of the past are only for memories. Lan Huan sat down and listened to Michio's chanting. Michio to turn the pages of the book, Lan Huan's tears continued to flow from her eyes.

Michio turned to the last page of the manual and said, "Think less, feel more. Frown less, smiled more. Talk less, listen more. Judge less, accept more. Watch less, do more. Complain less, appreciate more. Fear less, love more." When he read the last line, he closed the manual. "These are the steps to happiness. Therefore, happiness will never come to those who do not appreciate what they already have. Acceptance is the key to happiness and to freeing ourselves from the shackles we have locked on ourselves."

When the past memories completely disappeared from her mind, Lan Huan finally understood Michio's good intentions. Lan Huan murmured, "Acceptance is the key to happiness and freeing oneself from the shackle that we locked ourselves in." She sighed. "Tangzang Holy Monk, I understand now. Thank you for taking the time to help this slave understand."

The courtyard where the people were standing slowly changed back to its original sitting, and the once beautiful and untouched palace slowly turned into a dilapidated and abandoned palace.

Suddenly, screams, curses, and shouts came from all directions and rushed into the courtyard at the entrance of the palace.

Lan Huan looked at Michio and said with a smiled, "They are here to seek justice."

"Give us our lives back."

"Wicked witch, give us our lives back."

"Murderer... murderer..."

"You killed us all...you doomed us all...murderer..."

"Give me back my life..."

"Murderer..."

"Murderer..."

Everyone watched helplessly as hundreds of souls rushed towards Lan Huan and the group of men.

"My Lord, what should we do?" Lixing's seven soldiers asked.

Lixin said, "They are just here for her, we will not be affected, so don't interfere in their grudges."

Abrafo looked at Lixin and said, "You are so heartless."

Lixin smiled and said, "Thank you for the compliment."

Lan Huan smiled at Michio and said, "I accept all the punishments imposed on me by those who I have hurt. Thank you, monk Michio of Tangzang. Hundreds of years ago, it was the kindhearted men of Tangzang that helped me; today, it is also a Kind monk of Tangzang who helped me."

Michio sighed, clasped his hands and said, "Before heaven and before Buddha, may all the merits I have accumulated during my lifetime help Lady Lan's soul to be free of hatreds and debts." He began to recite the Buddha's mantra, and the pure energy virtues of Michio were slowly transferred to Lan Huan.

 "Yul..." Hajime murmured.

"What's wrong?" Yul asked.

"I want to help Michio," Hajime said.

Yul said, "Alright, let's help Michio fight these angry souls." He helped Hajime sat next to Michio, he also sat next to Hajime.

The angry soul rushed over and tore Lan Huan's soul into pieces, but Michio's pure energy virtue allowed the dark angry souls to return to its original human form before death. As thousands of people appeared around the palace courtyard, Lan Huan's body became more and more transparent.

Standing in front of Lan Huan were Liling, Jianjun and Ming. Lan Huan looked up at Liling and said sadly, "Master... this slave failed to keep the promise to Her Highness."

Hajime looked at Ming who was the little boy that led them to the palace. He looked at Yul and whispered, "That little boy...he is the one who brought us here."

Liling smiled at Lan Huan. Jianjun bowed to Lan Huan, Jianjun picked up Ming and held Liling's hand. The three of them walked slowly towards the throne hall, with the thousands of souls slowly following behind them.

Although Lan Huan's figure quickly disappeared and her face could not be seen clearly, her tone of asking Liling to forgive her was still clearly audible.

Michio looked at Lan Huan and said, "My Lady, others have accepted their fate and moved on. Now it's your time."

Lan Huan stretched out her head to Michio and kissed Michio's lips. The last trace of Lan Huan's extremely transparent body disappeared, and a green stone fell on Michio's lap.

Michio looked down at the green stone on his lap and sighed, "Amitabha... We win with compassion, and we conquer with forgiveness."

Abrafo looked at Lixin and said, "I think you owe Michio an apology."

Lixin said stubbornly, "I don't owe anyone any apology."

The eerie feeling and the stickiness of the air dissipated along with Lan Huan and the trapped souls. Michio wrapped the bead bracelet around his right wrist, picked up the Buddhist scripture, stuffed it into his robe, picked up the green crystal on his lap, and handed it to Yul.

Yul opened the small bag Hajime gave him and put the green crystal and the black crystal in it.

Abrafo smirked, "The trip was worth it. We got another key and Yul got a brand-new sword." He sighed. "Two are down already, three more to go."

Michio looked at his friends and said, "Hopefully the other keys won't be as dangerous as the first two." He got up.

Yul slowly helped Hajime stand up and said, "These keys are closely guarded by powerful individual. Next time before we go to the next destination, we must make a plan and don't go in blind as usual."

Hajime groaned in pain and said, "Let's mentally prepare for the next one, but first everyone needs to take a rest."

Bailong said, "My sons are still waiting in front of the door with your people. I asked them to guard the door for fear that the stone soldiers would be resurrected."

Yul said, "This place has been restored to its original state. I think those stone soldiers should have disappeared."

Michio said, "Let's leave this palace, U-ri must be worried about us now."

Abrafo hit Michio in the left shoulder blade and said, "You're worrying us. If U-ri has a heart attack and dies, it will be your fault."

Hajime smiled and said, "Don't curse the old man. He will definitely live longer than us."

"U-ri may be getting older, but he's still strong at heart," Michio said.

Abrafo looked at the seriously injured Hajime and Yul with a smile, especially Hajime. "Hajime needs immediate treatment. Let's get going," he said.

When everyone left the palace and came to the street, they saw that the stone human figures that originally stood on the street, as if frozen in time, had been completely broken into pieces and lay on the ground.

Yul looked at Hajime's face and found that Hajime's face became paler. "Can you still walk?" he asked.

"Yes, don't worry, let's get out of here first." Hajime suppressed the pain so as not to alert Yul and the others. "U-ri must be worried about us."

Abrafo said, "How about you call your wolf to take you away from here."

Hajime said, "If I could, I would have done this a long time ago, but summoning my crafts requires a lot of energy, and obviously now I don't have any more energy, not even lifting my finger to summon them."

Michio said worriedly, "Then let us carry you back. I would rather carry you than have you faint on us."

Abrafo said, "If you can't hold on, please tell us. We can take turns carrying you."

Hajime said, "Thank you for the offer, but it's not needed now."

Chao, who was walking behind Hajime, saw a large wound on Hajime's back with very little blood. He asked curiously, "Mage Hajime, why is there only such a little blood on your back? Also, the wound is so big, how can you still stand and walk?"

Hajime turned around and chuckled. "I can't die," he said.

Chen stepped forward quickly, "You can't die? What? How is that possible?"

Abrafo said, "Hajime is a mage with magical powers. So, that's why he can't die."

Ping, who was walking behind with Lixin and other soldiers, whispered, "My lord... did you hear it? Mage Hajime, can't die."

Lixin said, "He cannot die, but he can be maimed."

Lixin and his men began to follow Yul and the others. Feng approached Lixin and asked, "My lord, when are you going to attack?"

Chao said, "Now that they are seriously injured, now is a good time to take those two keys."

Lixin looked at his soldiers and said, "We will attack after the dragons is gone. We can't defeat them while those gatekeepers are still around."

Chen said, "I don't believe these gatekeepers will enter the village. I agree with Lord Lixin's idea to wait until we return to the village before attacking them."

Shi asked, "What about the village chief?"

Hui asked, "Should we also get rid of the village chief and villagers?"

Lixin walked in front of his men and said softly, "There is no need to attack those villagers. Now that we have our most important hostage, we are ready to attack once we reach the village. Give Jin a signal when the time comes. If we need a hostage, the old man is our best choice. Moreover, according to my observation, their captain would also be willing to trade those two keys for the old man's life. "
