Chapter 17: Such a hateful fellow

Timeless was still in hiding but was already closer to the battle zone, when he saw the last frost bear being slashed he noticed something off although the wound was fatal it couldn't have killed the frost bear so when it saw it slumped to the ground he became a little bit confused.

The expedition team was already sitting panting after going through such an intense battle, with emotions like relief, sorrow, and excitement showing on their faces all except for one though that only felt rage at the situation still fiercely stabbing the already dead beast as the team watched on stupified by what they were seeing.

Seeing Guinevere approaching the last beast Timeless had a bad feeling about things and edged closer to her, although some of the expedition team spotted him moving closer to the Silver frost beast they felt nothing of it.

Soon enough Guinevere approached the frost beast and was about to swing at it when she saw the frost beast's mouth curled into a sinister smile. She felt her hair stand on end and her impending doom approach.

The members of the expedition team noticed the situation and Luoyang screamed trying to rush over but how she possibly get there in time?

" Such a pity " kelvin mumbled while feeling elated by the situation, it would be to his benefit if she died here anyways as he could benefit from it by amassing a larger share of the treasure.

Guinevere waited for her impending doom she was so close, and caught off guard she could do nothing about it anyways even if she wanted to. An elemental attack from such a distance would crush her instantly even with her armor on but what she saw sent her into a daze.

Timeless already noticing the turn of events charged directly at the frost beast while its Gaze was fixed on Guinevere with hate in its eyes, brandishing his daggers he launched an assault while aiming for its head with all the strength he could muster.

This strike caught the beast off guard and the silver frost bear felt itself losing consciousness turning its head to look at the one that caused his demise he saw a mortal ranked human looking down on him and his eyes widened in shock as it fell to the ground with unwillingness.

Timeless stood atop the beast looking down at the expedition team as a voice rang at the back of his head.

"General ranked silver frost bear killed, strength stats at max, please evolve to the next stage".

"Error no soul energy detected, shattering beast's soul".

He felt his heartache, a general ranked beast soul. getting one required immense luck and now he got one that could be sold for a decent amount it shattered.

Still standing atop the frost beast while the expedition team stared at him with shock written all over their faces even Kelvin had his mouth hanging.

Turning over to Guinevere who was looking at him wanting to say something, he hurriedly spoke out.

"This is where we part ways," he said before turning away and walking towards the entrance of the snowy mountains not even giving a chance for any protest.

He already accomplished his task anyways any other thing was not of his concern at this point, his one goal was to save the princess from harm and he's done that, exploring the treasure trove didn't interest him at this point as he wouldn't be getting anything anyways so what's the point in staying,

Wanting nothing other than to just hunt to vent out his anger over the loss he experienced he left the mountains to a destination unknown.

"Such a hateful fellow," Guinevere who was still staring at the back of the youth with mixed emotion said as she turned to walk back to the members of the expedition team

"Are you alright sis?" Luoyang asked noticing the strange expression on her face.

"I'm fine Luoyang, he's such a hateful fellow is he not? he saved my life but he didn't even give me a chance to say a proper thank you," she said staring at the ground while muttering to herself repeated "such a hateful fellow".

She considered herself to be a top beauty even among the current youths in the domain at the moment she could be ranked in the top 10 most beautiful but those eyes that looked at her as if she was nothing, those hateful eyes and that face that lack any expression while seeing her, she felt the urge to slap the bastard to death.

Kelvin walked up to Guinevere and Luoyang who were still having a discussion and impatiently said, "3 frost essence cores have been found from the beasts so far, we've suffered immense loses carrying out this quest of yours so I hope for a proper compensation, the first pick of the items we find inside the treasure trove will be mine"

"And what gives you the right to request such a thing?" Guinevere asked drawing her sword at him while radiating a murderous aura.

Members of the expedition team watched on at the sudden development with complicated looks on their faces.

"Very good princess, you do what's best," he said before walking away while gritting his teeth.

Guinevere watched as kelvin walked away before muttering to herself "Such a fool"

Of course she knew what the implication of what such a demand meant. If there was something of value in there and he gets first claim for himself, she would only look like a fool if she for allowing that happen.

After walking a distance Kelvin grinned and said in a low tone "let's see who laughs last".
