Chapter 21: A possible spy?

"Well so much for stealth" Timeless mumbled feeling quite embarrassed at the situation, he was planning to sneak in undetected but has been caught like a thief without a chance to do anything.

Looking at the group in front of him carrying heavy sacks and giving him strange glances, seeing there was no way he could lie his way out of the situation he was in he sighed "I haven't accomplished my mission yet princess that's I'm back here"

"Oh, is that so?" Guinevere asked as the corner of her lips cursed into a smile.

"It's good to see you again Timeless and Thank you for earlier," Luoyang said in a more sincere tone.

Timeless shrugged as he turned to look at her "Just a regrettable circumstance".

"But how did you guys end up here and where are the others?" Timeless asked after finally realizing there was no one else coming through the path and only 5 were standing before him.

The faces of everyone present changed as he said that which he noticed, seeing as no one was speaking at the moment he nodded his head and said "I understand"

"How did you get here? This is supposed to be a secret chamber we uncovered, why is it you're here at the moment?" Kelvin asked while staring at him with a hateful gaze.

The team turned to look at him after hearing those words all having the same face that seemed to want to know more about it too.

"On my way here I encountered an intersection and not knowing which to go I chose one which lead me to a Chamber filled with glowing crystals and completely devoid of anything else, I was curious about the surrounding I found myself in and was just lucky enough to touch a crystal. A path appeared before me which lead me here, I was about to leave before I saw that a path opening up, so I stayed to watch and that's when you guys appeared in front of me" Timelessly slowly said not intending to hide any information on how he got here.

"So that's how it is, you were just lucky then, seeing as we had a whole team observe the room and found nothing," Guinevere said disgruntledly.

"Yeah or just dumb" Timeless snickered silently

"What did you discover when you got here then, I don't believe there would be such an empty room in this place, you must have taken them, give them now" Kelvin barked with murder in his eyes.

Seeing the act of aggression coming from someone he loathed deeply he felt the urge to kill after he understood what Kelvin was intending to do by saying such words, he calmed down and thought carefully about his words before saying "And where would I be hiding something even if I got something I could have hidden how do you intend to get it back, do you intend to strip me naked if so no need let me do it myself"

He made a motion to undress himself to the utter horror of the group present.

"Pervert, what the hell do you think are you doing," Guinevere said with a look of disgust while having a bashful face.

"Well, wasn't I called out just now? You heard him didn't you" Timeless stared at her with a blank expression but deep inside he was feeling immense joy.

"Forget about it, Kelvin you are not to speak about this anymore," Guinevere said while staring at him with the same look of disgust he was giving Timeless.

Seeing the situation spiral out of control he was speechless at the sudden turn of development so he hurriedly said: "Fine we've gotten enough anyways, let's head back now".

Timeless felt relieved seeing the events go as planned, but as he saw the team walking out of Cavern with huge sacks on their backs he knew what it was and his face twitched involuntarily as he followed the group silently.

The unknown in front of him was tainted with ever growing greed as his thoughts were swirling in his head and was finding it difficult to quell them.

He walked up to towards Luoyang who was moving at the back of the group and asked in a whisper "I know you don't want to talk about this but can I ask what happened?"

Luoyang paused after hearing that as she stared at him for a while before sighing, she said "walk with me while I explain".

They walked together with the group edging ever closer to the entrance of the Cavern and at this point, Timeless had gotten the entire gist of the event that unfolded.

"An unranked artifact that is only known to the 4 clans and a weapon capable of causing a talking beast to lose it's senses? The power of these clans is truly frightening" Timeless thought silently

He didn't even have a single good beast soul apart from the trash mortal ranked gaunlet which would be useless soon, at the moment his only means of survival was the general ranked daggers, thankfully humanity has survived long enough in the first domain.

At first they were able to be able to create crude tools from the ores found in the domain, as they evolved they started creating things like armors and weapons which was a boon to human race but still beast soul had various unique properties and couldn't be compared as could be seen by the one time purpose beast soul weapons that packed insane damage.

Seeing as they've reached the end of the cavern, the team climbed up through the hole, walking towards the direction where the injured members camped and that's when they saw a gruesome sight, the injured members of the team had been massacred and right now they were having various weapons pointed at them from every angle by people clad in black wearing a mask.

"Dammit why did this have to happen" Timeless silently thought cursing his luck.

"Who are you people and how did you get the info on our expedition" Guinevere asked with hate ever present in her voice.

"Leave the treasure behind or die"
