Chapter 37: The Lucifuge Castle
Searching for the location of the Lucifuge Manor wasn't difficult. The Lucifuge Territory was massive and Grayfia's senses were limited, however, mine were easily able to cover the whole span. I merely had to search for the most luxurious manor in the region, however, there was something else that was beginning to catch my attention.
'There is a group of devils... they're lurking and searching for someone, exchanging communications and even undercover'.
'Could they be-'
'They're looking for us'.
Our appearance grew weary in the surroundings until we went by a shop where those TVs were being sold and once again we caught a glimpse of that gorgeous devil lady that we saw in the shop.
However, this time things were a little different. Grayfia and I frowned when we saw what was being displayed behind the woman.
"REPEAT... THE APPEARANCE OF THE TWO INDIVIDUALS THAT CAUSED MASS DESTRUCTION IN THE AGARES TERRITORY SHOULD COINCIDE WITH THE DESCRIPTION OF THESE TWO INDIVIDUALS CAUGHT WITH THE SECURITY SURVEILLANCE DEVICES, THEY'RE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, DO NOT ENGAGE"
Those were her words as behind her I could see footage of myself and Grayfia, the angle of the recording seemed as if it was recorded from the sky. My first shockwave blew the 'thing' that was recording away but didn't manage to obliterate it. That device then flew at a high distance recording all the destruction that occurred in the territory with us as the epicentre. A golden light could be seen in the middle, it was me.
The light receded a little and the vague silhouettes of me and Grayfia were visible, I didn't look exactly how my appearance depicted me right now due to my golden scales, but anyone with enough brain cells should be able to spot the difference.
If that wasn't clear enough, despite how blurry it was, Grayfia's naked body was visible in the camera, you couldn't see her expression, but you could see she had silver hair and golden wings.
I released the second shockwave and it was then that the recording cut off, it seems my second shockwave destroyed the device. The focused the image as much as they could on our appearances. And I began to feel gazes blooming around us.
"I-It must be them..."
"That lady looks a lot like the one in the picture".
"They're terrorists".
The whispering began, all clear within our ears.
*WHOOSH!*
Two black silhouettes flickered in front of us, Grayfia stood on guard, having sensed them beforehand, she stood in front of me, ready to engage. However, I considered there was no need for us to stand here when I had already gotten to the destination of her family's manor.
The two devils in front of us were wearing uniforms, male and female; they quickly took out their swords, marking some distance between us as the people began to run away.
"We need you to come out with us" the male said with a growling voice, clearly upset. He acted as if he only had a hunch of us being the culprit, but I can tell by his tone how certain he is.
"That ain't happening~" I took Grayfia by her waist and my wings protruded before they could even say hello, flapping them as subtlety as I could, a shockwave blasted us away in the direction of the Lucifuge manor.

"This is going to be problematic…" I said and Grayfia nodded, holding me tightly.
It seems going around wouldn't be an option with the bad reputation we just harnessed, moreover… Grayfia still doesn't know how to control this new power of hers. Going to her family's place is the best option for us.
"As long as I can see mother, they should allow us to stay in… I'm sorry for everything, master".
"Why do you keep apologising?"
"It's my fault… we could have peacefully remained in Goldstein." She sighed, her tone sounded like mine whenever I wished to do nothing but have a nice sleep for a few centuries.
"We?~"
"…" She blushed slightly releasing her wording, "It is my home too, no?"
"It Is".
As we flew she seemed to have recalled a topic she wanted to touch, "Previously... you mentioned your mate's tomb, Richter-sama. why wouldn't you tell me about her?" perhaps she thinks because I didn't allow her entrance into that cave, that I was hiding it from her.
I sighed, there was no need to hide it, but I didn't want to speak of it if I could help it.
"I don't feel comfortable speaking about it, Grayfia… her name was Monique Empyrean, she was my mate for more than thirty thousand years… she died giving birth to my son, Horlein. That's all you need to know for now".
"I'm-"
"Don't apologise…"
"Hum…" she nodded and rubbed her head against my shirt to comfort me.
The flight wasn't long, I could feel this dimension wasn't either big or small… It resembled several worlds I have been to prior, however… the civilisation has reached an unprecedented degree of organisation.
We soon reached the castle that belonged to her family, it was regal and white in colour with silver outlines, just like her hair. There were fountains everywhere and a gigantic frozen arc seemed to release snowy dew on the whole scenery, making it gorgeous.
It doesn't look like a place where only two people would reside.
We landed and she grasped my hand, leading the way, her eyes watery.
"This has changed a lot too… we used to have a small manor, not a castle".
