Chapter 3: A World of Difference I

"Oop, now I remember. Sorry, some things are a little fuzzy is all. How about I just focus on skimming some of my homework? The company is probably worried about you being absent for so long. Why don't you go home, get a shower and some rest, then give them the good news that I'm going to make a full recovery? Sammy can stay here, I'll watch over him." I say and after some more convincing and reassurance she finally relents and heads home before I start looking through my homework while Sammy falls asleep on the side of my bed.

"Well, I have no clue who General Brightworth is and when their battle with the Northern Coalition of Indigenous Tribes was… Or when the Central Merican Compact was signed… But chemistry, math, and science seem to be the same as my old life." I say aloud while rubbing Sammy's back as he lightly snores making me resist the urge to pinch his cute little cheeks.

And if I'm really back in time... Maybe even if the world is different, I can finally protect them! But I need to heal up first and keep up with my school work. Ugh, why did all the names of important people and events have to change?!

Hold on... Does the earth even look like the earth? I carefully climb out of the hospital bed, before gently laying Sammy back down.

I tighten my bindings as best I can while being careful of my ribs, before slowly hobbling around the room, finding my belongings in a bag... Slightly perturbed by the presence of my blood soaked clothes. I pull out my phone, makeup kit, and colored contact, touching up my face to add some hardness to it as well as putting in my brown contact lense to hide my crystal blue left eye, as I've done thousands of times before. Slowed down slightly by only being able to use my left hand, before grabbing a wheelchair that's in the room.

I gently lay Sammy in the wheelchair before wrapping him in a blanket, "I lost you once, I'm not losing you again." I say to him.

Before using the wheelchair as a crutch to walk my way through the hospital. Where I discover I'm in a high end wing of the hospital with few other patients in the halls. The nurses occasionally try and stop me but I just give them a charming smile before saying I'm just wanting some fresh air which usually works in getting them to leave me alone.

After wandering the floor for about half an hour I stumbled upon a balcony where I push the wheelchair to the hand railing before letting go and resting myself on the railing.

After a few minutes of silence I hear a sickly cough behind me, *Cough, cough* "Pardon the interruption, I'm not used to hiding from company in my secret place." I hear a faint voice say as I turn around.
