Chapter 2: Believers Of Peace

Gandhi was firing like a space marine who had stumbled upon heresy. Within seconds, the entire street was filled with blood and corpses. Few had managed to survive the onslaught… but those that did were swift to eliminate the foul demon who had attacked their city.
This time, nearly three hundred people had died with well over a thousand injured.

The next day.
CHH… BOOM.
CHH… BOOM.
Gandhi dual-wielding RPGs, exploding buildings two by two. He did not hesitate for a moment as he let his rockets fly. It took the strongest profound practitioners of the Floating Cloud City to defeat him and, in the end, well over five thousand people had died.
This had been the third time Gandhi had attacked the city… and people began to see a pattern. They had done everything they could to seal away his corpse in hopes of him not returning. Some even left the city in a rush, fearing a fourth day of Gandhi's massacre. Short term, it was a wise idea. Long term? No one could hide from Gandhi forever… no one.

On the fourth day, Gandhi returned in a colossal tank, armed with three cannons and armour which was virtually impenetrable by anyone before him.
BOOM.

BOOM.
Shot after shot, the Floating Cloud City drew closer to utter ruin. No one could break past the tank's armour… not even the elders which had saved the previous day. In complete horror, everyone began to evacuate the city in all directions. Once the Floating Cloud City's streets were completely clear, Gandhi went on to do a clean sweep of the city with his golden AK47. He didn't miss a single room… closet… basement… he searched every damn inch of the city. He was truly driven to complete his purpose.
Once he was done, it was already night.
He had wisely looted everything of value, gathering it in one of the only houses which remained standing. Realising that his appearance would likely attract conflict in nearby settlements, Gandhi prepared a disguise involving a full black cloak and mask. Although he intended to bring peace, he was also curious as to how his new world functioned… from locations to profound energy itself.
For the entire night, he studied all he could gather from the Floating Cloud City. He hadn't fired on the Xiao Clan so its library provided great insight. He learned of the Blue Wind Empire, its cities and even the Profound Sky Continent as a whole. To his surprise, the Floating Cloud City was the smallest of Blue Wind Empire's cities… which made him wonder how grand the greater cities in the continent were.
After gaining greater knowledge of his new world, Gandhi moved onto greener pastures. His mission of bringing peace to the universe had barely begun…

Xiao Lingxi couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the state of the Floating Cloud City. Ruined buildings, endless corpses, dried blood smearing every street she could see. Xiao Lie, too, was shocked to the core. What devil could have done this?
Yun Che, who was escorting them back home, frowned deeply. While this may not have been his favourite place in the world, it was Xiao Lie's and Lingxi's home. To see it in such a state… was shocking. It was a place of no return now.
"The entire city…" Xiao Lingxi muttered in disbelief as she hesitated forward, seeing the destruction for herself.
"I will find who did this." Yun Che promised, even though he had no idea. "Before they cause more harm, I will put them all to the sword."
He went on to gather clues… but there wasn't anything left. Even the Xiao Clan's halls had been ruined.

After clearing the nearby Cyan Forest Town with swift ease, Gandhi had moved onto the New Moon City. The new mind control skill he had attained… it was just another tool to achieve true peace. Although, he couldn't help but wonder; as agents of peace, would his followers count as people he would have to kill?
Or… would they enjoy the new world alongside him?
It was time to find out.
"Peace… all living things desire peace, at the end of their days." Gandhi announced upon his entrance to the city, his voice resounding across the street. "No man truly wishes to raise his arms and kill another or die in the attempt without good enough reason. So why do we fight? Why are wars waged? In the name of greed! Greed breeds conflict and conflict breeds war… we are never satisfied. Lands, gold, possessions… so many fight for such pointless things! Why do we not fight for what we need rather than what we want? If everyone disregarded their selfish desires, there would be true peace in this sinful world!"
The entire crowd was silent before exploding into applause upon the end of his speech. Peace… they had begun to believe in it through his moving words. Even those who were related to the Floating Cloud City massacre joined him, forgiving all that he had done. Within a single day of spreading his gospel and his followers doing the same, Gandhi had converted the entire New Moon City into believers of peace. It was like a zombie infection… it couldn't be stopped.
True peace was inevitable.

From afar, the New Moon City didn't seem all that different to Yun Che. However, as he delved deeper into it searching for clues, he discovered that it had fallen under the flag of 'Peace'.
"What happened here… who is the overlord of this 'Peace' faction?" Yun Che questioned.
"Lord Gandhi is the prophet of peace… the one chosen to erase war and bring eternal peace to all living things."
Yun Che raised an eyebrow as one of the commoners answered. "Lord Gandhi? What kind of name is that?"
"His soul is the purest in all of existence… the one true nemesis of evil. With his presence alone, all the sects of this city have united as one. Isn't that wonderful?" Another replied.
"Are you not a believer?"
Yun Che stepped back as he realised that he was being slowly surrounded by the denizens of the New Moon City. He was confused but he didn't take their weird acting kindly.
"Step away." He spoke harshly, preparing to unleash his profound strength.
"Lord Gandhi wishes for all to know true peace… why run away from it? You can only find bliss once you dedicate yourself to the cause of peace."
"Come, let me introduce you to the belief of peace…"
BANG.
One got too close… and Yun Che pulverised them.
"Something isn't right here…"
Whoever this Lord Gandhi was, Yun Che was determined to get an explanation out of him.
