Chapter 14: I followed your advice.
I was surprised when we get to my car and I found him leaning on it. With his hands still in his pocket and he seemed to be so far in his wild imagination. He didn't seem to realize that we were there and I stopped my bodyguard who seemed so irritated and was walking to get him from the car.
"Give us some time, don't worry I know him," I said and he looked at me and I knew that he wasn't going to leave.
"He is my friend and trust me he can't hurt me....." I said again and he just looked at me.
"Sir, I don't think Mr. Shin will appreciate it if he learns that I let you talk to a stranger... it's not safe" He said to me and I understood him. If Mr. Shin was to know about this then he wouldn't be happy.
"Can we keep it between us? I want to talk to him... will you help me?" I asked and he looked at me and then after some time, he nodded.
"But it has to be in another place sir because here it's outside the FG building and Mr. Shin can easily find out about this, plus a lot of fans pass here to see if they could spot an artist and then you might end up in a scene" His thinking was quite a good right? I was happy that he had agreed to help me.
"Take us someone peaceful and quiet... with no people around" He nodded and we walked to the car. I wonder what Axel was busy thinking about because he didn't even hear us speaking and I had to tap him to get him back to his senses.
" Are you waiting for me?" I asked and he just stared at me. I hate it when he looks at me like that because I end up forgetting myself.
"Do you want to talk to me?.,. It's not a safe place where you know?.. I also wanna talk to you... My bodyguard will take us to a safer zone wanna go?" I asked and he nodded. At least he moved his head even though he wasn't using any sound. My bodyguard opened the door and I let him get in first and then me. I couldn't help but laugh at how he was dressed. He looked so cute in these and they portrayed the idea of I don't care, considering the fact that he was in the FG building earlier. I wonder how they even let him in and if they did who was he? Did Mr. Shin know or see him dressed that way? Was he a new singer of the FG company waiting to debut and if he was why hadn't I heard of him?
"Is your bodyguard kind?" He asked and I nodded at him. He had asked in a low tone that my bodyguard who was busy driving didn't hear it because I'm sure he would have shot a glance at him.
"Good for me," He said and he leaned on my shoulder and closed his eyes. I don't know why but it felt like he was tired and hadn't been getting enough sleep lately. Shaun, my bodyguard must have noticed because he shot a very sharp glance at me in the rearview mirror. It looked like he was gonna stop the car at the next minute but I told him it was okay.
It was already getting dark and the car stopped after some time. I looked around and saw an open park amusement park which meant that it was for public use. This was a good place because there were no people at the park though the sidewalks were filled with people.
"You'll have to stay here Shaun... I want to talk to him and we won't go far, you'll be able to see us..." I said and then woke Axel up. I even regretted waking him up because it seemed that he had been comfortable sleeping like that. We got out of the car and I lead the way, walking towards the amusement park which was just a few steps from where out the car had been packed. We had to walk slowly because he didn't seem in such a rush.
"It's already at night, do you still need to have your mask on?" I asked but he didn't say anything. We were walking side by side. I guess I have to get used to speaking alone whenever I'm with him because he rarely replies. There was a bench in the park and he hurried and sat there. I had to seat too.
"The stars look so lovely...." I said trying to start a conversation but I guess I was telling that to myself. He raised his head and looked at them. He didn't say a word and then leaned on my shoulder again.
"Why were you waiting for me? Do you want to talk about something?" I asked after a moment of silence. He wouldn't have waited for me for that long if it wasn't important right?
"I wanted to sleep..." He said plainly. I was waiting for him to say more only to realize that he was done talking.
"You could have just gone to your house... it's much more comfortable I bet" I said but he didn't speak.
"So about Shin... we are together now... I followed your advice and realized that maybe I should give it a try..." I know that I didn't have to tell him but I just felt like telling him.
"He is perfect for you... I know you like me but it's not worth it... I'm not good enough and I might be your destruction... I wish I could be a cool guy like him... I heard that you haven't finished your song yet so I wanted to apologize because I'm the one who took the time you were supposed to write it... and thanks for that day" He said and suddenly got up. I caught up with him before he could make the third step.
"Why are you trying to escape... are you okay?" I asked because he was walking so fast.
"Let's stop being friends... don't call or text me... I have a lot of things on my mind and I don't need any kind of distraction..." He said and then left. This time around I did not try to follow or stop him. He was so low but very clear. I don't understand him, one minute he is good and the next he is a different kind of person. How was he gonna go? Was he going to walk or call a cab? I looked at him as he disappeared and when I couldn't see him anymore I headed back to my car and Shaun drove me back to the dorm. I think all I need is beer.
