Chapter 90: Chapter 89

[London. Heathrow .]

Sitting in his chair, Severus looked with interest at the huge board, where flights were written, as well as the departure times of Muggle planes, on which he had wanted to fly for a long time, even when he had first read about them in one book.

The young man could not contain his curiosity, he was very interested in how ordinary people can lift two hundred tons into the sky without magic. Although he read about it, he understood little, he lacked knowledge, and it was much more interesting to see this with his own eyes and experience it for himself.

[Boarding begins for London Airlines Flight 202 to New York. All passengers are requested to board the flight at Gate 25.]

Severus looked curiously at the people with luggage hurrying towards the aisles leading to the plane, and then, once again looking around the airport crowded with Muggles, Snape could not help but sigh in disappointment, seeing how far the Muggles had advanced in development and how far behind the wizards, everyone still living in the so-called 18th century.

"If the world of magic and the Muggle world were united, then the development of mankind would be much faster, but peaceful coexistence…" He shook his head regretfully, "…this is impossible: there are too few wizards, they will simply overwhelm them in the hope of getting magic. People are too selfish creatures, there is nothing surprising in the fact that they introduced a statute of secrecy. If back in the 17th century Muggles could push them, I doubt that they could survive now, because most of the "wizards" are too weak-willed, even after simple torture, they will hand over their own mother, especially purebloods. Just take away the wand - and that's it, he/she is no longer a fighter, but the most ordinary person. I wouldn't be surprised if the Muggle government already knows about magic, and the Ministry of Magic is already working with them together, but just how long will this world last?" A tired sigh escaped his lips again, and his gaze became sharper. "I need to quickly reach at least the rank of Archmage again in order to be able to defend myself if the "witch hunt" suddenly starts, like in the 16th century…"

Looking up at the scoreboard again and thinking, the next moment he hit his fist across the palm of his hand, and his face lit up. "And if… in this case, the war can be completely avoided, if, of course, everything gets out of the control of wizards, it's still worth starting to prepare for the worst, but even if I do…" shaking his head, Severus stood up and corrected shirt, approached a huge panoramic window, from which a beautiful view of the plane taking off opened, "... I will have to prepare security measures for myself, eh ... how difficult it is ... "

"Young man, do you feel bad? Maybe we can take you to the infirmary?" A worried female voice called out, snapping him out of his thoughts. And turning towards its source, he smiled softly and shook his head. "Thank you, I'm just going to fly on an airplane for the first time, that's a little jitters," he looked with slight interest at a petite lady in a short blue skirt, a jacket, under which there was a white shirt, and in a cap, while there was a radiant smile on her face, making and so nice image even more attractive. "I understand you, but don't worry, everything will be fine, just sit down for a while. Meanwhile, should I get you some water?"

"Don't bother, everything is fine."

[Boarding begins for London Airlines Flight 206 to Dubai. All passengers are requested to board the flight at Gate 12]

The woman straightened her cap and tucked the curl behind her ear. "Here is my plane preparing to depart, it was a pleasure to meet you."

"Me too, Miss… Jonathan, have a nice day," he read from the badge on the left side of his chest. "Same to you, Mr…"

"Snape."

"Snape," she nodded with a smile, shaking the young man's hand and then quickly heading towards the named exit.

"And you're not wasting your time… " Nagini hissed after seeing the stewardess with her narrowed eyes, looking at Severus.

"Are you jealous again?" Severus looked at her with a small smile.

"No, but it would be better if we just flew there or apparated, why all these difficulties with Muggle technology?"

"I'm just interested in their technology, I want to see what they were able to achieve without magic, and I couldn't just move to that jungle, since I had never been there, and going into the head of every Muggle in the hope of finding memories of that place is very stupid and aren't you interested yourself?" he asked with a smile, stroking a thumb-sized serpent protruding from his breast pocket.

"I guess I'll never understand what you found interesting in them."

"They have only just begun their development in certain areas that have managed to intrigue me, and to be honest, the world of magic has fallen behind. Muggles know much more about the world around them, and I'm not talking about the terrible ignorance of wizards who think that Muggles are still waving swords and hunting mammoths. Yes, maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but this is the situation: most of them do not even know what firearms are, and this does not include grenades and nuclear bombs. And... It's interesting, ordinary people were able to achieve the strength to threaten the existence of wizards without any problems."

"Stop! So that bomb…does it really exist?!" she "exclaimed" with shock, not believing what she heard and remembering that terrifying explosion that they saw in one film.

"Yes, there is, and the funny thing is that wizards don't even suspect that there is a thing that can easily erase Hogwarts, although ... maybe it will still withstand one hit," Snape nodded thoughtfully, remembering the enchantments placed on the castle.

"But most likely, it will be a ruin because of the radiation, but they don't worry about it because they simply don't know what it is, but don't worry ..." smiling warmly, he stroked the frightened snake on the top of her head. "I can protect us, and I don't want the world of magic to be destroyed. In this case, if, of course, it ever comes to this, I have a solution…" Getting up from his chair, the young man headed towards exit No. 12, because there were only ten minutes left before the plane's departure, and Severus's route was especially twisty.

He was going to fly from London to Dubai, and from there transfer to another plane and get to Brazil. And tomorrow at the same time, the Slytherin was supposed to arrive in Sao Paulo, where a guide was waiting for him, the same author of the book, to whom the wizard paid two thousand galleons to draw a map, explain approximately his route and lead him at least to the barrier, where he come from.

After all, as in London, and as in almost the whole world, in the Amazon jungle there also existed a place like Diagon Alley and Hogwarts, which was separated from the Muggle world. Terrifying monsters were found in that very place, there were even rumours that someone had seen the real Basilisk there.

Although few people believe in it, no one was in a hurry to meddle and prove something in one of the most dangerous places on earth.

A few minutes later, passing the guards, the young man went through a telescopic ladder - a pipe connecting the airport with the plane. And, finally finding himself in it, the young man looked with a smile at a short, pretty woman, whom he had already met before. "Welcome," she said with a smile, but noticing who was standing in front of her, she was momentarily surprised, but quickly returned to her professional smile. "Let me see your ticket."

"Of course." Taking it out of his inside pocket, he handed it to her, and a few seconds later she returned the ticket.

"Your seat is number 25, in the right wing. If you feel unwell, you can contact me or my colleagues at any time."

"Thanks, I'll keep it in mind." Following his back with a thoughtful look, the woman shook her head and looked at the chubby man standing in front of her. "Welcome, let me take a look at your ticket..."

….

Finally finding his seat, Snape sat closer to the window and watched with interest a worker in a strange car passing by, and then he turned his gaze to the plane in the distance, which was picking up speed, and after a few Seconds, it began to take off from the ground. "I can't even believe that all this is without magic…"

"Did you notice the strange look of that woman?" Nagini suddenly asked, to which Severus nodded calmly.

"She is a squib - a person who has a magical core, but it is so weak that even the simplest manipulation of magic is almost impossible for them. She must have sensed you, though I didn't try to hide your presence too much. Apparently, she herself does not know that she is a Squib," looking up at the bright sky, which stood out against the background of the approaching dark clouds, he frowned slightly, and then shook his head.

[Good evening, dear passengers, ladies and gentlemen! Please, just a moment, this is your captain, Frank McDowell, speaking to you. Welcome aboard at British Caledonia Boeing 707. We are flying from London to Dubai. Travel time is ten hours, five minutes. In five minutes, we will be starting the engines and taxiing to the runway.]

Looking towards the place where the voice came from, the young man shook his head and turned his gaze back to the window. "It will be good if I can get that flower. Then only the last of the three ingredients will remain, although maybe I'll be lucky and I can find something else, since this is the most dangerous place because of living creatures, then people shouldn't have taken everything away, which means ... " His eyes lit up , and a grin appeared on his lips, "I already can not wait to get there."

"Make your face simpler, otherwise you look like you have something bad in mind." Nagini's bored voice sounded, yet she did not find flying on an airplane something interesting, and it was very uncomfortable to lie in his pocket. "Okay, okay, get out," returning to his normal expression, Snape increased the distraction spell on the snake, and also created two illusions next to him so that no one would occupy these places, because they also belonged to him, but bought through fake passports. She joyfully crawled out of her pocket, crawled onto a nearby seat and, curled up, closed her eyes contentedly, thereby causing a bit of emotion in Severus ...

[Ladies and Gentlemen! We are ready to take off! Please make sure your seat belts are fastened and tightened. Thank you for your attention!]
