Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Meeting the Parents
After a short while of cuddling and a few more heart pounding kisses Hitomi and Toru are laid together side by side in Hitomi's bed... Laid on their sides facing each other
Toru has commandeered the bowl of nuts and is happily feeding Hitomi's snakes, in moderation of course
"Hey Toru...? My head feels better now I think" Hitomi's arm is around Toru and she's gently playing with her hair
"Oh really...? That's great to hear" she smiles and tickles a snake under the chin much to the snake's bliss if the happy hissing is anything to go by
"Yeah... It's a real... Weight off my mind!" She grins!
Toru's head flops forward "Uuuuugh...! That's so bad!"
As they laugh together they suddenly hear a loud voice outside the office "It's right this way folks, thanks again for callin' in"
And then a woman's worried voice "C'mon C'mon this has taken to long...!"
"Eep!!" Toru's eyes widen and she quickly scrambles up out of the bed! But gets her legs tangled in the blanket! Causing her to topple backwards off the bed and land in a miserable heap on the floor, with her legs still up on the bed "Owww..."
Hitomi laughs at the sight, but realization hits and she suddenly dives to the side herself as she scrambles to find something to cover her eyes, finding nothing she just uses her hand to cover them as she turns back to the door
The door opens to reveal Present Mic leading a group of four people. As he opens the door the poor Hero is flattened as the group storm past him into the room, amid shouts of "Hitomi!!" And "Toru!!"
Toru tries kicking her legs free of the bedcovers but ends up getting more tangled and trapped "Craaap..."
Hitomi smiles sheepishly and waves "Hi Mom, hi Dad"
The four people that have entered are of course Asa Sekizō, Hajime Sekizō and two other people that Hitomi can only assume are Toru's parents. Two people of average builds
Toru's father is a very handsome man with stubble and medium length hair, with eyes similar to Toru's and wearing a smart business suit. Her Mother, is an extremely cute woman with long messy hair much like Toru's and wearing a sweater and long flowing skirt
Both parents being so good looking certainly explains Toru's beauty for sure
The four people freeze in place upon seeing the scene at the bed before them. Toru is of course wearing clothes! Specifically her P.E uniform, so her position can be seen clearly by the newcomers "Uh... Hi Mommy... Hi Daddy..." She waves
Her father frowns and tilts his head "Toru why are you on the flo-"
"My baby!" Toru's mother rushes over and fusses over the increasingly embarrassed Toru "They said you were burnt! Where is it!? Does it hurt!? Is it bad!?" She starts poking all over the poor girl, this doing nothing but tickling her and making her laugh
"Stop stop stoooop!" She laughs and tries crawling away "I lied! I'm not hurt! I'm fine!" Her Mom freezes and Toru's eyes widen as she realises what she just said "I-I mean! Um..."
"So... You lied huh...?" Her Mom slowly stands and glares down at her "Made me worry for nothing huh?"
"I-I mean yes b-but I was just super worried about Hitomi and I-! Gah!" As Toru's explaining her Mom grabs a pillow from the unoccupied bed and starts mercilessly beating her with it!
"Do! You! Know! How! Worried! I! Was!?" Each word gets a new hit from the pillow!
"I'm- Ow! I'm sorry! Ow! Mommy stop! Owww! Daddy help meeee!!" She covers her face with her arms to try and protect herself
Toru's Dad momentarily forgets he has a daughter so has no idea who this "Daddy" person is, he just stands with his hands casually behind his back, rocking on his feet and looking around the room
Asa and Hajime cautiously step past this prolonged pillow murder and go and sit on their daughters bed
Hajime holds Hitomi's free hand while Asa digs in her handbag for spare bandages "Hey... How you doing kiddo...?"
Hitomi smiles and squeezes his hand "I'm ok... I had a bit of a headache earlier but it's passed now... Me and Toru have been talking since I woke up" she smiles to herself 'Talking... And some kissing! Oh crap how the heck am I gonna tell them we decided to date!?' she focuses on her new girlfriend being pillow murdered 'I won't bring it up just yet'
Asa takes out the bandages and leans closer to her daughter "Close your eyes" Hitomi does so and moves her hand, Asa then silently wraps a couple of layers around her head before fixing the bandages in place
"Mom...? Are you ok...?" With her other hand now free and after Asa has returned the roll of bandages to her handbag Hitomi takes her Mom's hand...
Asa nods "I'm fine..." She grips Hitomi's hand tight...
"I'm alright Mom... I promise..." She squeezes Asa's hand "I got hurt... But I'm ok now"
Asa nods again "Mm..."
"Soooo... That's Toru huh?" Hajime coming in with a subject change!
"Y-yeah! And um... I'm guessing those are Toru's parents that came in with you?" She focuses again on the savage pillow murdering 'Wow Toru's Mom is brutal...'
Toru's Dad, hearing this opportunity of escape, comes over to introduce himself "Hi there, Fujin Hagakure, pleasure to meet you guys" he bows and holds out a business card
Hajime takes it and reads "Hagakure Homes Real Estate, We offer a fully transparent service" he grins "Haaaa! Good slogan"
Fujin smirks and holds out his arms "Transparency guaranteed!" He drops his arms "You must be the Sekizō family"
"We must indeed" Hajime stands from the bed and bows "I'm Hajime Sekizō and this is my wife Asa and our daughter Hitomi"
"Ah yes Toru's told us a lot about your daughter" he turns to face Hitomi "I wonder, can you see me?"
Hitomi tilts her head but the realises the obvious "Ohhhh, you're invisible too Mr Hagakure?"
"Indeed I am!" Fujin laughs "As is my wife, who has..." he glances back "Yep, finished killing our daughter with a pillow"
Toru's Mom comes over while smoothing her hair down out if habit "Hello, nice to meet you I'm Shizue Hagakure, Toru's loving Mother that would never ever harm her"
Toru groans on the floor behind her
Shizue smiles at Hitomi "Our daughter tells us that you've been a great friend to her, thank you so much" she bows "She's become very quickly attached to you"
"Oh no no not at all! She's been such an amazing friend to me" she looks past them and down at Toru with warm smile... "She's really been the best..." She looks back up at the Hagakure couple "She even saved my life today"
"Hitomi saved my life too!" Toru jumps to her feet and squeezes between her parents "We uh... Saved each other... At different times..."
"You shouldn't have needed saving at all...!" Asa yells as she clenches her fists! Making the less alert people jump
They all look... And Hitomi's smile slips from her face... "Mom..."
"I know being a Hero can be dangerous... But I never expected anyone's lives to be in danger so soon...!" She rests her face in her hands...
Hitomi pulls both of her hands away fr her face and holds them "Mom... Nobody expected this attack... It obviously wasn't supposed to happen... Nobody could have known..."
"I know... I know that... But UA was supposed to be safe..." She squeezes Hitomi's hands "Safe for you..." She glances at the Toru "For all students..." She looks back at Hitomi "You're just kids..."
Hajime goes and stands by Asa... Wrapping his arms ms around her from behind...
"We're UA students Mom... Eventually we'll be doing work studies where we'll go out and fight real villains..." She sighs and faces upwards "And a bit after that we'll be real Heroes... Saving people and fighting for what's right..."
"I know... I know... I just thought I... Had more time..." She sniffles...
Shizue steps forward and sits at the end of Hitomi's bed "We all thought we did... I myself never expected hearing my baby was facing a life or death situation this soon... I'm sure our girls never expected it to be this soon either..." Both Toru and Hitomi nod in agreement "But... I'm glad my daughter had your Hitomi watching her back..."
Fujin rests a hand in Toru's shoulder and looks down to her "We heard you two actually made a good team together today... Just a passing comment from Present Mic"
"Yeah!" Toru pumps her fists and gets a cute excited look on her face "We took down this one crazy guy with a big chain together and Hitomi kicked this one big guy super hard between the legs and when Hitomi was taking care of this monster thing the boss of the bad guys, he was this super creepy guy covered in hands, he tried to get her but then I ran in and Ka-pow! Took him down in one hit!"
Fujin and Shizue glance at Hitomi and she nods in confirmation "Yep, it's true, she sent the leader straight to the ground which made him very easy to restrain, she truly saved my life... Thanks to her the situation became much less dangerous, which let us both get away to safety along with some other atudents" 'Despite the fact I had to be carried away in a bloody mess but I won't mention that part' "She's a proper Hero already, my Hero at least..."
Toru blushes and hides her face in her hands "Hitomiiiiii! Keep embarrassing me and we're breaking up!"
Hitomi freezes and a few moments later, after she's gotten over her fluster, Toru does the same
"Breaking up?" Hajime grins and leans forward "That would imply... That there is some form of official relationship between you two"
"U-umm well!" Hitomi glares daggers at Toru!
Asa folds her arms "Hitomi is there something you'd like to tell us?"
"Well uh... Toru!? Don't you have something to tell your parents!?" She turns to Toru
"M-me!? Umm!" She glances at each of her own parents "W-well y'see umm... M-me and Hitomi uhh..."
Hitomi sighs... Then takes a deep breath "Together?"
Toru slowly nods "Y-yeah"
"Mom. Dad." Hitomi faces her parents
"Mommy... Daddy..." Toru sits both her parents down on the bed
Both girls share a glance and say... "Me and Hitomi/Toru are gonna date!"
There is total silence... Where each set if parents share a look despite the invisibility of one of the sets... And then they speak
Asa shrugs "Well you told us you like her already so it's of little surprise to us"
"Yours too?" Shizue laughs "Toru couldn't stop gushing about how cool and pretty her crush is"
Toru dies on the spot "Why does everyone embarrass meeee!?"
"So you talk about me at home huh?" Hitomi blushes and can't help but smile
"Y-yeah... And you do too apparently" Toru returns the smile while also blushing
Both father's fold their arms at the same time and take a breath to speak sternly... And both get elbowed in the stomach by their wives "Oof!" "Ow!"
Hajime clears his throat and can't help but smile softly "Hitomi I approve of this relationship, Toru seems like a nice girl with your wellbeing at heart"
"Toru I'm sure Hitomi can look after you... And if not she'll have to answer to me" Fujin says with a nod
Toru and Hitomi reach to each other and hold each others hands... They smile at each other warmly...
"That's very touching Dears..." Recovery Girl says from the doorway "But if you're both feeling better then everybody go home! My paperwork won't do itself y'know!"
