Chapter 80: Delulu Land{78}

Ashley tapped his foot impatiently, his eyes darting back and forth between his watch and the grand black Bugatti Centodieci Luna Cora parked in front of him. The shiny body of the car gleamed under the morning sun, beckoning him to climb inside and feel the power of its engine. But he couldn't do it alone, not on their first day of work.

He sighed, glancing towards the pack house where Vasili resided. How long could it possibly take to get ready? He had explicitly told Vasili to set an alarm the previous night, knowing very well the scatterbrained habits of his mate. But, of course, the grouchy male had conveniently forgotten to do as Ashley instructed.

A soft growl rumbled in Ashley's chest as he stared at the closed door of the pack house. Patience was not one of his virtues, especially when it came to punctuality. They had plans for the day, and they were running late!

Just as he was about to give up, a flurry of movement caught his attention. Vasili bolted out of the pack house, his tie flapping in the wind as he ran towards the car. His hair was a slightly damp mess, probably from a rushed shower, and a sloppy smile adorned his aggravating lips.

"Good morning, my love," Vasili panted, trying to catch his breath. "I'm sorry I'm late. I overslept."

Ashley threw him a blank look, unimpressed by Vasili's apologies. "You promised not to sleep late again, didn't you?"

Vasili's nerves were apparent as he smoothed his hand over his white shirt. "I know, and I'm really sorry. It won't happen again, I promise."

Ashley sighed, his anger dissipating slightly at the sight of his mate's earnest expression. It was hard to stay mad at Vasili for long. With a begrudging nod, Ashley walked over to the driver's side and opened the car door. Vasili hurriedly threw himself into the shotgun seat, barely avoiding hitting his knee in the process.

As Ashley got into the driver's seat, he couldn't help but smile at the joy on Vasili's face. Despite the rough start to their morning, the anticipation of the day ahead had brought a sparkle to his mate's eyes.

"I must say, Vas, you still manage to make a grand entrance," Ashley teased, his voice laced with amusement.

Vasili grumbled under his breath, rubbing his knee. "Life's unfair, you know? I never get anything right."

Ashley chuckled, turning the car on and letting the engine purr to life. "Well, you got me right, didn't you? That's all that matters."

They drove out of the pack lands, the powerful engine of the Bugatti propelling them forward with a smooth acceleration. The wind tousled their hair and the world whizzed by in a blur as they made their way into the city.

Ashley glanced at Vasili, taking in his disheveled appearance. "You could have at least combed your hair before rushing out."

Vasili ran a hand through his unruly white locks, trying to tame them unsuccessfully. "I didn't have time. Besides, I think the messy look suits me."

Ashley smirked, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Oh, it suits you very well. But just remember, you are mine to muss up, not the other way around."

Vasili's cheeks flushed pink, a shy smile playing on his lips. "Yes, Alpha. I am yours in every way."

As they drove through the city streets, Ashley couldn't help but feel a swell of contentment within him. Despite the hiccups in their morning routine, he was with the person who mattered the most to him. The speed and power of the car matched the intensity of their bond, reminding Ashley of the excitement and love that filled their relationship.

They made their way to a luxurious restaurant, where they were greeted by the staff with much fanfare upon their arrival. The day was filled with laughter, good food, and heartfelt conversations. The hours flew by, leaving them with memories that would last a lifetime.

As the sun began its descent, painting the sky in hues of gold and pink, Vasili and Ashley made their way back to the car. Ashley unlocked the doors and they settled inside, the comfortable silence enveloping them. They didn't need words to express the love they felt for each other. It was evident in every touch, every glance, and every smile they shared.

Ashley started the engine, the powerful roar echoing through the quiet streets as they prepared to head back to their pack lands. The car effortlessly merged with traffic, gliding through the busy city as if it owned the road. And in a way, it did. It represented the journey Vasili and Ashley had embarked on together—the journey of love, understanding, and acceptance.

As they neared the pack house, Ashley stole a quick glance at his mate. The messy hair, the slightly disheveled appearance—it only made Vasili more endearing in his eyes. Despite the occasional frustrations that came with their unmatched schedules, Ashley wouldn't have it any other way. He cherished every moment spent with Vasili, their bond growing stronger with each passing day.

As they pulled into the pack house driveway, Ashley switched off the engine. He turned towards Vasili, a soft smile on his face. "Thank you, my love, for making this day one I will never forget."

Vasili's eyes sparkled with emotion as he reached out to take Ashley's hand. "You deserve every happiness, my Alpha. I may not always be punctual, but I promise to always be by your side, loving you with all my heart."

Vasili squeezed Ashley's hand, their love and devotion flowing between them. "And that, my mate, is all I could ever ask for."

They stepped out of the car, their fingers intertwined, ready to face whatever challenges life had in store for them. Their love was unbreakable, a force that would guide them through the highs and lows of their journey together.

"Ashley I swear if you don't get out of that damn bathroom I'll leave you behind!" Came Vasili's annoyed voice, shattering the delusion Ashley had let himself fall deeply into under the warm embrace of the shower.

"Shit! I'm done I swear, I'll be out in five minutes"

His delusions are beginning to cloud his mind way too much for comfort.

Why had he not realized it? Vasili doesn't wear white, nor does he ever call him his Alpha, they aren't mates and they definitely aren't in love, they were going to the office yet he had imagined them going to a restaurant instead. The signs were there yet he failed to realize he was only daydreaming about a life that would never be.

He seriously needed to stop punishing himself like this. With a longing-filled sigh, he stepped out of the shower.
