Chapter 2: Chapter Two The Men In Black

"Ring! ring! ring!"

The clock alarm received a heavy slap from it's master, for being too noisy. As Edward Murphy, a military neurosurgeon gradually rose up from his bed and limped into his luxurious kitchen to made himself a cup of hot chocolate coffee.

His right leg seemed to be bandaged, due to a disturbing bullet wound he had sustained a month ago. He seemed to be struggling with coordinating his trembling body, but he refused to wither. It was time for his early morning workout and he was strict in keeping to it. He had to heal faster and get in better shape before the month ran out.

After taking his morning coffee, he washed his face and mouth. As he stripped shirtless, and limped to the huge swim spa in his backyard. Usually he always had a coach that assisted him in swimming. But recently he was feeling more of himself and perhaps a bit independent once more. He gently entered into the pool and gradually started flapping his limps while paddling like a fish in the seemingly blue warm water.

"I see you started without me." Said someone from behind.

He smoothly twirled around while swimming as his gaze met with a slender gorgeous black haired lady. She was his personal swim coach.

"Charlie...I wasn't expecting you."

"You know you're not supposed to be doing this alone."

"Yeah well, I feel great and clearly am doing fine here."

"Then why bother paying me if you no longer needed my services." She mumbled quietly.

"Aight. Am sorry, I just wanted to know if I can do this on my own."

"I understand mr Murphy. But I already told you times, your not fit enough yet."

"Yeah. Right."

He simply heaved a sigh and started to swim out from the water in submission. She politely offered a helping hand, but he swiftly declined and got out by himself. He took a neat white towel which was lying by the side as he wiped and dried himself.

"You sure you don't need my help?" She offered once more as he slowly limped into the house.

"I brought myself here, didn't I?."

She sighed heavily while worriedly watching as he made his way into the house. As he walked into his sitting room, he heard a sudden ringing of his smartphone. So he limped to the couch and picked it up. And on looking at the phone's screen, he realized he had missed a few calls. Mostly from a certain number saved as ‹Mateo›. He quickly redialed the number and put the phone to his ear as soon as the receiver picked the call.

"Yo Eddie!. I've been calling. You need to get here quick."

"What!?. Why!?."

"It's very urgent. Your service is needed."

"You do know am on leave right?."

"Yeah well tell that to the General."

"The General!?." He abruptly panicked in utter confusion.

"Yeah, like I said. It's urgent. So just pack up your kits and prepare. I've already texted them your address. So they're on their way."

"Them?. Who's them??."

"The IASI."

"What?. What do they want with me?." He asked angrily while fuming from both sides of his ear.

It seemed like the mentioning of the name had brought back old unpleasant memories.

"I dunno Eddie. Am cutting the line now."

"Yeah fuck you."

"Your welcome." Mumbled Mateo as he cut the call.

On dropping the phone to the sofa, the sudden sound of a settling motor engine attracted his attention. He looked through the window and saw a black Jeep that was parked by his house as two men dressed in black corporate suits marched out from it. "They're here."
