Chapter 21: POISON
A FEW MONTHS LATER
BLISS KINGDOM / King Gerald's chamber.
THE THIRD-PERSON OMNISCIENT POINT OF VIEW.
King Gerald and Prince Bryan were sitting on the king's bed facing each other with Prince Bryan's hand on the king's tummy, while the king watched him with a sad smile.
The king already knew he will soon die,
This happened to his father five years before he go to their forefather. His father ( the late king of the Bliss kingdom) told him it is just a signal to them to his time is almost up.
He knew the pain is going to last for a month before it heal and no physician can say what exactly is wrong with him.
He was only happy because Hina, won't die without a child anymore, and he will also rest in peace, knowing full well her daughter will give birth to the greatest king in Emperor land.
He smile sadly as Prince Bryan tried to heal him.
"Why can't I heal you?" Prince Bryan said in frustration as he remove his hand from his father's body.
"You are not a healer son, so stop wasting your time. "King Gerald said with a weak smile.
"Should I teleport to the Latco kingdom and bring Hina to treat you, I hate all annoying physicians around here. "Prince Bryan said with a very annoyed face.
"I can't survive my sickness even if Hina is here, please Bryan, I wish to see your son before going to my forefather,
it is time you get married Bryan. "The dying king Gerald said with a sad smile.
"What did you mean father? "Prince Bryan asked.
"Bryan, I have a few years to go, and I will like to see my grandchild before going to my forefather.
"Stop that father, am sure you will survive this, stop acting like this, is scaring me out. "Prince Bryan muttered trying to control the tears that willed up in his eyes.
"You should act like a man when the time comes Bryan, I'm only telling you this so you could have your own family before then, so that this kingship will not leave our family. "The king said and move closer to Prince Bryan slowly, and started patting his hair while rubbing her back soothingly with his other hand.
"Stay strong dear. "The king added with a smile.
THE LATCO KINGDOM / THE KING'S CHAMBER
Hina's point of view.
It's been two weeks since King Vince announced to his people that I'm his queen-to-be,
he did not allow me to leave his sight for once and he was always glued around me all the time
They start the preparation for my coronation today, so he was busy with the councils and the ministers in the throne room.
I walk out of the king's chamber happily and walked toward the maid's building.
I open the door and Vanilla jump on me immediately after I open the door as if she was waiting for me.
"I can not breathe Vanilla. "I said and she quickly disengaged from the tight hug.
"Sorry, I'm just happy to see you. "She pouted cutely
"It's okay. "I said with a light smile.
"How are you feeling my Queen? "She asked dramatically and I roll my eyes
"Stop it Vanilla, it is not funny. "I said and looked away from her because my cheeks already turned red.
"See who is blushing. "She said with a smirk
"Seriously Vanilla, I made a huge mistake by coming here. "I said and pretend as if am angry.
"Sorry your majesty, it won't happen again. "She said and I rolled my eyes dramatically before going in properly.
" Molly told me you visited the kitchen earlier and I feel sad that I don't get to see you. "She said with a fake angry face.
"Well, I'm here now, so don't be angry,
by the way, where is that annoying sister of mine? "I asked lying on Vanilla's bed.
"She stepped out to get some fresh air. "Sara said and I looked up at her in surprise.
"Are you talking to me?" I asked to be sure am not hearing things.
"I'm sorry Hina, I was jealous of your perfection then. I hate you because of the way you always act, I thought you are just a fake everything, but I later learn my lesson. Please find a place in your heart and forgive me for all my childish behaviours. "Sara said
Silence took over for a while, and then Sara cleared her throat before facing me properly.
"I know I don't deserve your forgiveness, but please find a space in your heart and forgive me. "She added before she walk out of the room. And I blinked
"Did Sara just apologise or have started hearing things?" I asked myself.
"Yes, she did. "Vanilla with a forced smile.
"Unbelievable. "I muttered
"Have you eaten?" She asked changing the topic.
"No, I haven't. "I reply.
"I baked an apple pie and chicken nugget early, mind having some?" She asked
"No, thanks. "I reply happily
"A minute, please. "She said and walked out of the room.
She returned with a tray of apple pies and chicken nuggets.
I rush to her and collect the tray from her like a baby.
"Thank you Vanilla, you are the best. "I said as I put an apple pie in my mouth.
I eat the apple pie and the chicken nugget hungrily.
"Gosh!! I have not eaten since morning, Vanilla is a lifesaver." I said inwardly as I eat as if someone is chasing me.
" Be careful. "She said and hand a cup of water over to me.
"Thanks. "I muttered and drank the water once.
I finished eating a few minutes later and Vanilla cleared the remnant into the kitchen, while I also left to look for Molly, that her annoying prince charming is trying to steal her away from me.
I walked out of the maid's building and walked toward the garden, I can't wait to speak sense to her annoying prince charming that is trying to take her away from me
I was still walking when my eyes started seeing stars, and I suddenly bump into someone before I lose consciousness in the person's arms.
King Vince's point of view.
I was busy since morning with the councils and the ministers, so planning Hina's coronation is not easy as I thought
I want everything according to her taste, I just want everything to look so perfect.
I walked out of the throne room after three hours of meeting with the elders before walking toward the Queen's mother's chamber, with my guards behind me.
I was still walking toward her chamber when Hina suddenly bumped into me and fainted immediately.
I lifted her up properly in a bridal style and walked toward my chamber.
"Call the physician now!!" I yelled and two of my guards rushes away.
A few minutes later
I watched impatiently as the physician attend to Hina, who was lying unconscious on the bed.
"What happened to her?" I asked immediately after the physician was done with her.
"She was poison. "She said and I looked up immediately.
"Who dared poison her? the person will regret ever messing with what is mine. "I said inwardly before facing the physician.
"How is she? did the poison affect her?" I asked
"No, your majesty, but am afraid she may lose her baby. "The physician said and my anger increased.
"You can go Aria. Tell the commander to see me now. "I said and walked toward Hina and sit right in front of her bed.
I held Hina's hand and caressed it softly, looking so worried about her and our baby, she was still unconscious on the bed.
"Wake up soon, sleeping beauty. "I said and kiss her forehead, before stroking her hair gently.
"I can't wait to know the fool that poisons you. He or she will regret ever messing with what is mine" I said inwardly and caressed her cheeks with my thumb.
