Chapter 54: EP 52 - ATTACK ON SCYLLA.

Avyanna took in a deep breath.
They had one last chance.
And they couldn't mess up.
A young lad was already dead and they didn't want to add any more to that number.
"Alright guys think , think , think!!!! Scylla is a sea monster, So what are her weakness???" Eva said.
"There is none. That is according to stories I've heard.... And I've heard a lot of stories ." Su ling replied.
"It's true." Obi seconded her.
"No one has ever defeated Scylla. At least not totally.". Sky contributed.

"Not helping."Avyanna huffed as she tried to think.
The Captain had taken control of the ship's weapons.
"Fire the cannons. Blast them all into that infernal creature." He ordered.
Men and women took their places and lit the cannons. Conrad covered his ears as the weapons of death and destruction fired at Scylla. It blasted holes into her but she was able to narrowly escape the other cannon balls that where
headed her way. She retreated for a moment so as her wounds would healed itself. Kyra watched attentively as the other tried to come up with a solution.
"Just great. " Percival groused. " She can heal itselfl."
The baying heads of the Scylla lurched at THE CAVALIER tearing away a huge chunk of wood as the crew jumped out of the way to another part of the ship for their survival.
Levi crossed his legs and put himself in a relaxed position .
"How are you so Calm!!" Conrad questioned him in panic.
"I'm calm because I'm not wasting my time and energy fighting the inevitable."It's just like I said earlier . Just give it six men and we can be in our merry way!"
"That is not what we stand for. We can't just lead six innocents people to the slaughter." Avyanna yelled in the midst of all the chaos.
"But tell me , which of these sailors are really innocent??"
Kyra got up and moved towards Scylla and Conrad held her back . "I don't want to sound rude right now , but seriously ARE YOU CRAAAAZY!!!!!!!"
"I just want to try something out." She smiled and reassured Conrad.
Conrad let her go.
Su ling tossed the die.

She brought out her Huge Scythe and Cut of one of the monsters tentacles. It gave a monstrous roar and skunk away to recover from its wounds. Kyra fell back and counted.

The Scylla now fully recovered went for Kyra and Kyra swiftly ducked and retreated to where the others were hidden
"What was that for?" Levi asked puzzled .
"Just testing out a theory." She answered griping her weapon tightly.
"And did you get any answers?" Avyanna got up.
"The Scylla takes approximately 30 seconds for It to heal itself and comes back into action and that is if it is mild. At that moment, it is weak and exposed to any attack as its body is too preoccupied trying to restoring to full health and at that space of time it is defenseless " Kyra explained.
"For such type of damage you're intending we need to launch a joint and massive attack." Percival enjoined.
"Exactly. We have to hit her with every thing we've got ; when Scylla' s at her weakest, We end it." Avyanna added.
"You can't attack her head on, though." Conrad cut in. " We will need something to distract her , weaken her and make her defenseless then we hit her hard."
Levi promptly stood to his feet and climbed up to the edge of the deck where the monster had previously torn into two . The others were stunned .
"Don't do it Levi. " Avyanna called out trying to persuade him not to jump.
Levi glanced her and raised an eyebrow ."Why the hell would I want to jump???"
"I don't know...I'm not the crazy one at the Ledge."Avyanna retorted.
Am quite surprise you care and that's good to know .
" but Just so you know, Comrade ... I'm Awesome and its not your fault you're not". Levi taunted.
"Show off." Conrad mused.
Avyanna now getting furious with Levi wanted to push him into the sea to face the wrath of Scylla while Percival and Kyra were struggling to hold her back. "Let me go!" She protested. "I'm going to put his cocky ass in the ground!. We are grasping at straws, trying to make it out alive , he's not even helping yet he's acting like a narcissist!" Avyanna yelled.
Conrad tried to come in between them. "If you want to kill him , Fine with me. But save it for later. We have a monster problem to sort out!" when we are done with this task at hand trust me I will help with the killing of Levi gracefully.
Levi wasn't listening to their squabbling. The monster had taken notice of him and was stealthily moving closely towards him . He was staring down at the water as one of the baying dogs on Scylla reached out to grab him. Suddenly he stretched his hand towards the water .
" Art of Lightning : Thunder Shards!"
Bolts of lightning streamed across the sky and landed in the water.The sudden jolt electrocuted the Scylla and Levi stepped down .
"Electricity and Water! Genius!!!! " Sky thought aloud.
"What the hell are you waiting for? An invitation?" Levi scoffed. "Here's your chance."

Avyanna stabbed her blade into the monster. Lifeblood left her body , Passed through her Katana into the creature. She didn't direct it perfectly but it ravaged that part of The Scylla that made it shriek in agony.
Kyra had already told them what to do . As the Scylla was distracted and in pains, Percival, Avyanna , Levi and she were to attack from behind while Conrad was to aim for her head .
"Our survival depends on that one shot." Kyra reminded.
"Alright. No pressure. "Conrad muttered as he loaded only one round of his Customized Damascus steeled bullet.
The Scylla catching sight of Avyanna rushed towards them. Each of her gluttonous dogs grabbed her as Avyanna screamed in agony as they tore her apart. Suddenly , Avyanna vanished into thin air.
Concentrating all her energy , Avyanna had been able to use the power of illusion to trick the monster. One of the arts she had learnt to master , To create mirages of herself.
But that took a lot of energy and Eva look at her health sheet.

Scylla became confused as she searched the deck. All the sailors were gone as they had been earlier led to safety in the cabins by Percival.
"Now!!!!!!" Kyra yelled.
All at once , the four struck The Scylla Viciously at her back letting her release a monstrous Scream . They inflicted deep wounds on it, as Her tentacles flung them away in defence , causing them to land on various parts of the sea.
The captain saw the happenings and called on some of his men. They tossed down a rope towards the Adventurers as they each try to make their way to it. Percival , not accustomed to swimming held on to a piece of wood that was ripped earlier by Scylla from their ship that lay in the sea.
Kyra had already scuttled up the deck, panting heavily .
Levi swam past Percival who was struggling to swim. He could have gone on past him and let him drown in peace but Unluckily for Levi Avyanna gave him a stern stare that only him knew what it meant.
Levi sighed and changed directions. Holding Percival firmly , they both headed towards THE CAVALIER and ascended the rope, with Levi restraining the urge to drown him himself .
"Thank you." Percival said, gratified when they got on the ship.
"Don't."He said half heartedly. "It was my pleasure."
Avyanna now shouted out to Conrad who was standing in the mizzen top castle , with his gun aiming at the head of the monster.
"Make the Shot!!!!"
Conrad had better shoot or else their window of opportunity would close.
Time was running out .
"25 seconds..." She counted.
Conrad heaved a deep breath And placed his finger on the trigger , pointing it to the Scylla who was now whimpering in Pain and he let go...
