Chapter 68: EP 66 - DEALING WITH AN UGLADIS.
The creature was quicker than him and pressed him to the ground. It was intent on using its curved beak to pluck out his eyeballs when a colossal blast of Fire sent it scampering and it took off.
Avyanna smiled as she helped him to his feet. "What would you do without me?"
"Thanks. "He replied .
"It appears to be that you've run into an Ugladis. An Owl diety with intelligence and a passion of eating the brains and livers of their victims. She must have killed others before our arrival." Avyanna said as they walked on ahead. "Where are the others?"
Percival pointed to the door up ahead. "They are out there."
Getting there he tried to open the doors but it was still jammed shut. Avyanna observed it and shook her head. "It is a magic barrier. Only magic can extinguish magic."
"So what do we do?"Percival queried.
She cracked her knuckles."Leave this to me. All I need you to do is to distract that thing from killing us. Pretty simple , Now shoo, I need to work."
Percival nodded .
The Ugladis had circled back and was ready for another fight. It charged at Him but Percival saw it coming and ducked.
"How much longer?" He yelled to Avyanna who was busy chanting.
"The more you interrupt me , the longer were gonna be here.And don't rush me!" She replied.
Percival used his Blade to prevent the Huge bird for slashing his face off. "Okay , I'm not trying to rush you or put pressure on you but if you don't get those doors open , we're both going to die."
"You think I don't know that!!!" .
Avyanna took in a deep breath and took up her chant again.
"Scutum Contego Minuerue ...Scutum Contego Minuere."
The Force field shielding the entire house began to wear down. The creature seeing this , left Percival and headed to Avyanna who was now loose-guarded.
Percival darted his sword into the feathers of this monstrous bird and it uttered a shrill cry.
In anger utilizing its sharp talons , The creature managed to claw at One of Percival eyes , temporarily blinding him.
The Ugladis headed toward Avyanna with full force with viciousness in its soulless eyes when Levi appeared unexpectedly ; grabbing its neck and tossing it backwards.
The Barrier was finally down and helping Percival up , they ran out of the house but Levi remained.
"What are you doing ?" Percival shouted. "Let's go !"
Levi nodded. "I have some unfinished business to attend to." He swerved back. The Ugladis was now breathing heavily and was ready to slaughter this mortal in front of it.
"Bring it on." Levi beckoned it.
The creature clapped its wings and flew swiftly towards him. Getting a hold of its Wings, Levi yanked firmly on them , bringing it to the ground. He lift his Sword and brought it down cutting of it Entire wing. It screamed and Stuckbits beak into Levi's arm .

He pushed it off and the Giant Owl scuttled away. Taking out one of his daggers , Levi aimed at the creature's heart and threw it with intensive force.
Levi was surprised that the Ugladis didn't die , though it pierced its heart. Knowing that this Mortal was much more powerful than it was , The creature thought better to take flight. It scampered to the window , trying to escape through the closed window.
Speedily bringing out some salt, Avyanna threw some on the ground around tthe house .

The Ugladis bashed against the door but It wouldn't open. Avyanna had sealed it shut so that no one could come out nor go in .
That meant Levi was on his own.
She muttered something to Percival who in turn yelled to Levi. He grinned and moved with great celerity. The Ugladis now circling and flapping the remains of its cut wings had no time to react as Levi caught it in mid air and thrust his hand into its feathered body and removed its Liver. The monster let out a final cry as its body exploded in little bits Sending it's contents spraying all over Levi.
"Ewwwww." He winced as he spat out the entrails and using the back of his palm to wipe his mouth.
Avyanna sighed in relief as she heard The dying cry of the creature . She was at least 52% sure that Levi would win.
That counts for something right?
She began to feel dizzy. Avyanna got up but her legs threatened to Buckle beneath her. She hadn't still reached full strength and her callous wastage of Energy was coming back to bite her in the ass.
Unable to keep her eyes open , she fell back and fainted.
By now Kyra and Conrad had woken up from their beauty sleep . She rubbed her eyes and Saw the blood stained Windows and Avyanna lying in Percival's arms with Anxiety written all over him.
Kyra folded her arms.
"Alright, what did we miss?"
Conrad felt Avyanna's pulse.
It was so faint that it was barely there.
"She's not breathing ." Percival said in despair.
'You have to give her CPR." Kyra suggested.
"Mouth to Mouth ..." John laughed.
"That's so Gross." Sky exclaimed.
"Disgusting." Obi shook his head.
"Ugh!" Eva rolled her eyes.
"I actually think its kind of romantic." Su ling smiled dreamily .
Percival nodded and began giving her chest compressions. Conrad walked back to the house and sat at the doorstep when Levi emerged.
"So you're finally awake?" Levi sneered. "Where are the rest?".
Conrad shrugged."They're over there." He smiled mischievously . "Avyanna fainted and Percival is ...Giving her a very intimate mouth to mouth treatment."
"What did you say!!!" Levi barked.

Percival breathed into Avyanna's mouth for the Seventeenth time. "Come on. Wake up." He muttered.
Avyanna slowly opened her eyes to see Four eyes staring at her. Sincerely glad, Kyra hugged Avyanna tightly."I thought I lost you there". Don't you ever do that again."
Avyanna smiled and patted her back. "I'll try."
Levi and Conrad returned as the whole members of the Adventurers Society walked down the solitary steps leading back down to the Village.
Percival's right eye was hurting intensely. Avyanna touched it with her forefinger and he flinched in sudden pain. "It will heal but Its going to leave a scar." She admitted.
He smiled."That's nothing I can't handle."
Levi watched the two with anger increasing in him. Why couldn't she relate to him that way ?
He was going to find a way to deal with Percival sooner or later ...
Levi yawned.
But that was later . He had had enough adventures for one day.
