Chapter 6: 6. Rabbit Hunt

<The enemy was successfully eliminated. Earned +50 experience points.>

"Finally" I said as I picked up the rabbit. I had finally killed another rabbit after three days of struggle. I took the rabbit back to the cabin and laid it on the table.

I couldn't help but think about how difficult hunting had been as I looked at the rabbit. Every time I attempted to hunt a rabbit, it would try to bite me and then flee. Other animals in the area around the cabin were large and ferocious, such as bears, wolves, and mountain lions.

------

I had initially planned to make my way toward the village, but after seeing the number of red dots in that direction on the <Map> function, I realized that it would be too dangerous.

I unlocked a new feature called <Map>. It was automatically unlocked after I placed the map in my inventory.

By accessing the <Map> function, I could see a top-down view of the forest. It only displayed the places I had been and the area around me within a 500-meter radius.

A green dot on the map represented my current location, while red dots indicated the presence of enemies in the surrounding area. It provided real-time updates, which allowed me to keep track of my location and potential hazards in the area.

As I observed the <Map> function, I saw that the area around me was filled with a lot of red dots. Some were bigger and some were smaller, representing different types of enemies.

I had no choice but to put the plan to head toward the Village on hold until I was strong enough to handle the enemies in the forest. I decided that it would be best to stay in the cabin until I was strong enough to handle the enemies in the forest.

I was immediately drawn into the dream of the rabbit I had just killed as I activated the <Dream Predator> skill. I felt like I was watching a movie as I watched the rabbit's life unfold in front of me. It was running through the forest, avoiding predators and looking for food. I saw its fear and desperation as I killed it.

I became aware of a familiar sensation in my body as the dream progressed. The dream was being sucked into me, and I could feel my own characteristics and abilities changing. My agility and speed improved, and I learned a new skill,< Stealth>.

<Stealth>: Stealth is a skill that allows user to move quietly and hide effectively, making it harder for enemies to detect them. This skill enhances the user's ability to blend into their surroundings and avoid detection by enemies. <0%> (Level 1)

As the dream came to an end, I felt energized and refreshed. The rabbit had taught me new abilities and skills, which I knew would help me survive in the forest.

After reviewing the stats window, I decided to split my five free stats between Intelligence and Dexterity. I could feel my mind becoming sharper and my movements becoming more precise. I was eager to see how these enhancements would impact my hunting abilities.

When I looked out the window, I noticed that the sun was setting. The sky was colored orange and pink, casting a warm glow over the forest. So, I decided to call it a night and head to bed.

I awoke the next morning feeling revitalized and ready for the day ahead. I washed up and decided to go hunting after a quick breakfast.

I activated my Map> function and scanned the surrounding area for a potential target. My gaze was drawn to a small, lonely red dot in the distance. I knew that was my prey.

I moved stealthily towards the red dot, blending in with my surroundings thanks to my <Stealth> ability. I felt a small drain on my Dream Essence as I activated it and checked my status page to see that it had dropped to 45/50. But I didn't let it deter me because I knew it was all worth it for a successful hunt.

As I got closer to the red dot, I realized it was a rabbit grazing on the grass as if it didn't care about anything. I crept closer, waiting for the right moment to strike. But, to my surprise, the rabbit didn't seem to notice me at all.

I took my chance and killed the rabbit with a quick strike. I double-checked my inventory to make sure it was properly added, then quickly scanned my surroundings with <Map> again, noticing that one of the larger red dots was moving in my direction. I knew it was time to leave this place and go to the next.

After I had left the area where I had killed the rabbit. I looked around for more prey but couldn't find a single small red dot. After some thought, I decided to go with the smallest group of small dots. He finally saw them as he got closer to his prey's position three rabbits.

As I crept closer to the group of three rabbits, I carefully formulated a plan to take them down one by one. However, my plan was immediately thrown into disarray as one of the rabbits suddenly screeched and lunged at me.

I managed to take down one rabbit with a swift strike, but the sudden attack had thrown me off balance and I was forced to dodge the second rabbit's attack.

I quickly regained my footing and scanned my surroundings, noticing that one of the rabbits was circling around me while the other continued to attack relentlessly. I took a deep breath to steady myself and focused on formulating a new plan.

As the rabbit in front of me lunged at me, I pushed my hand forward, and the rabbit bit it and retreated just as fast. I gritted my teeth and turned around and slashed the rabbit behind me, Caught off-guard the rabbit drew its last breath with one down I quickly turned around to face the other rabbit but I quickly realized that this rabbit was a bit different from the other rabbits. It had a small horn on its forehead and its eyes were a bit redder. It was also slightly bigger in size and seemed more aggressive.

Despite my enhanced agility, the rabbit proved to be a formidable opponent. I fought desperately, trying to end the battle as quickly as possible as I could feel my arm bleeding. The rabbit was fast and nimble, dodging my strikes and counterattacking with quick jabs from its horn.

I feinted to the left, causing the rabbit to fall for the trap and exposing its side. I quickly took advantage of the opportunity and delivered a heavy blow to the rabbit's shoulder, causing it to stumble and falter. The rabbit let out a loud screech, but it was not done yet. It quickly regained its footing and lunged at me with renewed vigor.

I was pushed back by the rabbit's powerful attacks, and my stamina was starting to wane. I knew I had to end the fight soon before the rabbit got the upper hand. I focused all my energy and delivered a powerful strike to the rabbit's head, finally ending the battle.

Exhausted, I gathered the three rabbits in my inventory and returned to the cabin, aware of the other red dots closing in on my location due to the stench of blood. The fight had been intense, and I knew I had been fortunate to win. I'd have to be more cautious in the future, knowing that not all prey would be as easy to catch as I had imagined.
