Chapter 7: Apostle
(The scene shifts to Puck flying over the burning town.
After running away crying from Guts, he started flying around the town.
But he never thought he would encounter such a sight.
The town was on fire and the cavalry troops traveling through the town were trampling people.
More and more people were dying by the second.
Puck saw someone in this terrible scene. He was the parton of these soldiers. He was wearing a cobra-shaped mask and wielding a huge halberd. The horrible thing was that he was drinking the blood of a child hanging on the end of the halberd.
Pucl thought to himself, "Isn't he human?" It was the only logical explanation he could come up with.
As the soldiers went to trample more people, something jumped out of the corpses. It was obviously Guts. He started firing the crossbow on his severed arm at the cavalry. Each arrow hit a human being, who either died instantly or collapsed in pain.
The soldier said, "What kind of a crossbow is this?" A crossbow that could pierce their heavy armor was terrifying.
The soldiers began to ride more horses at Guts. At that moment Guts drew the huge sword from his back and sliced the rider in half as he came towards him.
Puck admired Guts as he and his horse cut the man in half, "He is so strong."
While Puck was busy admiring Guts, Guts and the castle lord finally faced each other.
The castle lord said, "So you are the so-called Black Swordsman who hunted us apostles." The lord kept talking.
"I don't know what you are trying to accomplish, but as a human you cannot defeat me."
Guts was busy reloading his crossbow as if he didn't hear the lord's words.
"The very thought of such a thing makes me laugh," the lord said, and then rode his horse at Guts.
Guts fired his arrows at the lord. Each arrow struck the lord in the head and body. Guts knocked the castle lord off his horse. The lord's soldiers were surprised to see their boss fall so quickly. Puck even began to rejoice that they had won. Guts himself was the only one whose expression hadn't changed).

The trio were disgusted when they read about the massacre. But what they felt worse was that it was happening in their own war.
Even the village hidden in the rain was caught in the middle of a pitched battle. Thousands of children were orphaned because of it. Hundreds of women had been raped by soldiers.
Kushina said, "I don't know if Guts is really guilty. These men would do the same thing just for the pleasure of it. "
Minato said, "By giving the children and women to the lord, the town governor only postponed their horrible end a little longer. I think this man was bound to do it sooner or later."
Hiruzen, "Silence for now. The war is not over yet. We'll talk about it later. The Lord himself will not die so soon after saying that a man cannot be defeated."
Minato and Kushina agreed. They were not surprised that this demon-like man had a demon-like ability.

(Guts continued to shoot more arrows at the man who had already been hit by dozens of arrows.
The lord finally fell through the door of a house. Guts seemed to calm down a little. But the calm was shattered when something like the tail of a huge snake came out of the house and hit Guts.
Probably the real battle was about to begin.
A voice came from inside the destroyed building, "No matter how many arrows you shoot at me, it is useless. It is impossible for a human to kill me."
From behind the voice emerged the real opponent Guts had to fight. A gigantic figure emerged from where the lord should have been. The monster that appeared was the cobra-like figure on the lord's helmet. But it had muscular arms and legs that a snake should not have.
The cobra said, "I'm going to eat you, boy." Said the former lord, now the cobra-like monster.
The mercenaries screamed and ran away when they saw the monster their lord had become.
While Guts was still recovering from the tail blow, the lord was already in front of him again.
Even though Puck tried to warn him, he kept getting hit after hit.
The lord, seeing that Guts collapsed to the ground vomiting blood but not dead, said, "Are you still alive?", "A normal person would have destroyed his internal organs at the first blow.", "No matter how long you hold on, this is your end."
He used his massive tail to stomp on Guts, who was vomiting blood on the ground.
Lord, "Fragile, humans are very delicate creatures.", "Your only use is as food. You are the food we need to grow, and food should act like food."
As the lord spoke, Guts, who was half dead, put his mechanic arm into the mouth of the speaking lord. Then he fired the cannon on his arm.
This was Guts's first blow that damaged the creature. And his second blow was to cut the monster in half with the huge black sword.
Puck flew towards Guts, who was still standing as the monster collapsed.
The look on Guts' face startled him. He was looking at the monster lying on the ground with a sadistic expression, as if he wanted to cut it into a thousand pieces.
Guts slowly approached the beast lying in its blood. After saying "Don't die yet", he pressed its head and started shooting more arrows at it.
From then on, it was more about Guts torturing the cobra than the battle between Guts and the cobra beast. The monster was now begging for its life from the pain.
Guts looked at the monster writhing in pain, "It must be terrible to die so slowly," he said, "We humans are weak beings and we die easily. Yet no matter how weak we are, no matter how tortured, no matter how oppressed, we want to live. "
"Why shouldn't we share this pain with you?"
Puck had never felt such intense emotions since he had the power to feel emotions. The anger, wrath and cruelty coming from Guts was so overwhelming that his whole body seemed to tremble with fear.
The cobra monster noticed Guts' horrible face as well as the brand on his neck.
Cobra beast, "Who are you?", "This is the mark of sacrifice"
Guts, "Where are the five members of the hand of God?"
The monster was scared even hearing the name of the group Guts was talking about.
When Guts saw that the monster was scared, he shot another arrow into its eye.
Cobra monster, "I don't know. They are in a place where people like me are not allowed to enter, it's true."
When Guts heard the monster's answer, he turned around and started to leave. Then, as if remembering something, he turned back and said, "Enjoy your slow death. I think I'll let you burn to death."
After Guts said this, the burning buildings around started to fall on the creature and burn the creature.
The monster was begging not to die in the burning building. Puck was crying in a corner, covering his ears so as not to hear the monster's voice. Guts, on the other hand, felt like the monster's pleas reminded him of something, like a memory that made his heart ache.
Puck looked at the scene Guts left behind when he left and said only one word. "Berserk")

The trio did not expect such a complicated turn of events in just one chapter of the book about the stranger in their village.
Minato, "Where even the cobra beast is not authorized to enter?"
Kushina, "What's the deal with Guts' sacrifice stamp?"
Hiruzen, "What's the reason for Guts to act so ruthlessly?"
All three had different questions. But what they had in common was that Guts had come out of a horrible event of gigantic proportions. They could see it in Guts' actions. He acted like an experienced ninja being tortured on the battlefield. He was an experienced ninja because the inexperienced ones lost their minds under torture.
Experienced ninjas kept their minds only because they wanted to take revenge on their tormentors. And when they lost that, they went mad.
But what they didn't know was that Guts had come out of hell with enormous pain.
They had a long time to find out.
