Chapter 2: CHAPTER - 2 { Next Mission }

Next day, 8:20 pm at night. At one of the cargo ports in the city, Creed slipped past the security and hid on top of the cargo containers.

With an infrared monocular, he scouted the area for preparing an account of the number of individuals present.

In five days the main cargo ship of Sea Way would arrive here with Pete Vilski, the owner. From his estimate, that cargo ship should have at least 13 people.

"It should be done quickly and quietly."

Creed stuffed the monocular in his bag and picked it up. With little movements he climbed down the cargoes and hid in the shadows.

After a few minutes he was able to get out of the port safely without anyone noticing his presence or any of his traces.

* * *

At first Creed thought that the increase of security in the cargo port was temporary because of his recent activity of killing the owner of a shipping company but it wasn't.

The security only tightened and the number of guards skyrocketed to 60 from 20, which was absurd.

And it stayed that way.

Each passing day brought more questions in Creed's mind about the cargo port.

"So, there's more to it than just Pete Vilski. Could it be the cargo?"

One day before the cargo ship arrived in the port, Creed strolled around an old apartment. Later when no one was watching, he jumped in through an open window.

Hiding from everyone, he headed upstairs and reached a room door sealed by the apartment owner saying it required repair.

He pulled out some keys from his pocket, one of which belonged to this particular room.

Clank. Opening the door, he then stepped inside with caution. The interior of the room, divided into three smaller rooms, was very rigid and old.

There was a strong smell of metal and gunpowder. He went into the bedroom of the apartment room and lifted the entire bed off the floor.

The bed, or the exterior was just a cover. After it was removed, Creed eyed all the weapons and ammunition stored there.

Handguns, assault rifles, grenades, daggers and blades. There were some smoke bombs, stun grenades and two plasma grenades.

"I am back."

Looking at his weapons, Creed flashed a happy smile. He picked up the M4 Carbine, one of the best assault rifles in the world. It provides accurate, lethal and direct fire.

This target wasn't in open so snipers were useless, only M4 Carbine, M4-16s and AKs were good.

Creed packed the M4, three Glocks, a few grenades, two smoke bombs, some daggers and lots of ammunition.

Covering the bed, he rubbed some dust over it and cleared his footprints before leaving the room.

Sunday, 7:12 pm. The awaited day finally came. Near the cargo port, on the roof of a tall building with a clear view of the sea.

Creed wore his black suit, with bulletproof vest and more body covers on his arms and legs. Then grabbed the grenades and placed them around his waist.

The handguns were on the thighs, and the daggers on his calves. His entire figure had transformed from a sweet and handsome man, to a soldier.

"Huuuh…"

Exhaling, he calmed himself. Creed's eyes showed no emotions, his face totally stiff and tight.

From the bag on his left, he took out a black mask. A special mask designed and made by him. Hitmen were not only good at killing but also at technology, which was a must.

The black mask attached itself on Creed's face, the two eyes glowed in red light and dimmed away. It had night vision installed in it.

Creed stood on the edge of the roof and looked at the port. At the entrance of the port, there were about 7 guards fully armed.

The streets were quiet and he could see no civilians walking.

"Let's start."

He started climbing down the building with a thin rope on the side. Making his way to the entrance, he stopped and held the M4 with silencer.

"Hey, it's getting colder right?"

"Ya man."

The 7 guards at the entrance were unaware that Creed was almost on their right. Just as the guards were about to change their positions, Creed launched the attack.

Bang! Bang!

Two guards immediately fell down. It happened all of a sudden that no one was able to react. Creed had no time to let them counter attack him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

With his swift fingers, he pulled the M4 trigger five more times and killed the remaining five guards.

THUD!

The bodies hit the hard concrete floor cold and also warm. Creed grabbed the guards and pulled them behind the entrance guarding point and hid their bodies.

Tak. Reloading his magazine, he rushed and hid between the containers near the front of the cargo port.

"It's getting boring dude."

"I know. Wish, boss arrives soon."

Two guards walked near the containers and conversed. Creed took out his daggers and came behind the two from the dark.

STAB!

The daggers pierced through their skin and sliced the blood vessels in their neck. The nerves were cut and their body couldn't move.

"Aah ahh…"

The mouth gaps stopped after two seconds, their red eyes closed and their bodies slid down on the floor.

"9 out of 63… 54 to go."

Dragging the two dead bodies, he hid them behind a container in the dark. Time was ticking, the longer it takes, the faster everyone will know.

* * *

In the sea, near the cargo port where Creed was busy eliminating as many guards as he could before the main cargo ship of Sea Way arrives.

Inside the said ship, the owner of Sea Way shipping company, Pete Vilski, looked at the man before him with a grinning smile.

"You said he can be activated with the words. Can I do it now?"

Pete asked. A voice from behind answered him straightforwardly.

"Anytime. But remember, he will do only one of your tasks. After that he will return to base."

"Hail Hydra!"

Pete exclaimed loudly. He stepped forward and stood before the masked man.

Standing at 1.83 meters, the masked man with only half his face covered stared down at Pete who was 1.75 meters tall.

The masked man, or also called the Winter Soldier by Hydra, a criminal organization trying to rule over the world, stood motionless.

Pete smiled and inspected him. Winter Soldier had a prosthetic left arm made of titanium, and of course his well trained body.

"Very nice! Now it's time for me to take control of you! Hehe."

Pete grinned widely and backed away from the Winter Soldier. Then he started speaking out the specific words.

"Longing, rusted, furnace, daybreak, seventeen…"

Winter Soldier's eyes grew red, his body shook and veins popped up on his forehead.

"benign, nine, homecoming…"

Pete looked at him, and his desperate struggle to resist the code words. Winter Soldier glared at Pete, his left hand clenched tightly into a fist.

"one,... freight car."

As he finished, Pete found that the Winter Soldier had turned quiet and his head lowered with the long hair blocking the face.

"Did it work?"

"It did."

The voice reassured Pete.

"Then, Winter Soldier. Whose command will you follow now?"

"Yours."

Winter Soldier responded, his face had changed from being like a normal human to an expressionless and emotionless machine.
