The group of fighters made their way through the city, the destruction caused by the portals and the monsters was evident everywhere. Buildings were in ruins, cars were overturned, and bodies of both monsters and humans littered the streets. The air was thick with the smell of smoke and death.
As they got closer to the portal, the group could hear the sounds of battle getting louder. They could see the creatures pouring out of the portal, each one more terrifying than the last. But the group was determined to push them back, to close the portal and save their world.
They split up, each member using their unique abilities to take on the monsters. One person had the power of super strength and used it to pick up cars and throw them at the creatures. Another could control fire and used it to burn the monsters to ashes. Still, another could turn invisible and used it to sneak up on the creatures and take them out from behind.
The battle was intense, and it seemed as though the monsters would never stop coming. But the group fought on, their powers and determination giving them an edge over the creatures. They pushed them back, inch by inch, until they were finally able to close the portal.
As the last of the monsters were pushed back through, the group let out a cheer of triumph. They had done it. They had saved their world from the shadow of the gruesome. But they knew that this was only the beginning. There were more portals out there, and more monsters to fight. But for now, they would celebrate their victory and prepare for the next battle.
