Chapter 32: An Unexpected Turn

Melody took a deep breath and tried to calm her nerves as she made her way to Preston's office downstair. As she walked down the corridor, she couldn't help but wonder what this urgent meeting could be about. Was it related to her recent work or was it something more personal?

As she reached his office door, she took another deep breath and knocked on the door. "Come in!" Preston's voice called out from the other side.

Melody pushed open the door and stepped inside, closing the door behind her. She noticed that Preston was already seated behind his desk, looking stern and serious.

"Sit down, Mel," Preston said, gesturing to a chair in front of his desk. Melody complied, taking a seat and nervously fidgeting with her hands in her lap.
