Chapter 11: Ch 11- MaelStorm of Emotions
"Zain we have something important to tell you." said his mom
I was playing some casual RPG games when I heard my mom calling me downstairs. The atmosphere was a bit serious for some reason.
"Now listen carefully Zain your mother and I have decided to tell you something very important. Though we decided we would tell you this when you get 18 we though we should tell you this now then later cause you never know what can happen in life." My father said with look of melancholy on his face
I don't know why but I was kinda getting a very sus feeling for no reason.
"What kind of topic was it that you guys wanted to tell this to me when I was gonna turn 18?" I asked
"The kind that boys your age shouldn't take the burden to know." My mom said softly
"Zain I know how this might sound very bad to you but....Steven your big brother isn't actually your big brother." My father said with an almost forced voice as if he didn't want to say it.
But this was quite literally the biggest shock of my life so far. Even when I received my powers and everything and even when I killed another living being I did not feel like this. This feeling which feels like there's something sharp inside of you for the first time ever I don't like it...I don't like this feeling at all.
Without waiting for me to completely swallow the earthshaking mystery my parent's continued.
"As you might not know but... Haa.. well how should I even say this to you soon but your father was kind of an idiot and a very unresponsible person in the past." My father spoke with great difficulty.
"I was- I mean kind of had a relationship with this girl when I was 17.. we were both in love and were welp just 17 year olds and in the moment of heat we did something stupid and then Steven was born." He paused as if to wait for me to sink it all in my mind.
I nodded for him to continue.
"So anyways It was almost 5 years later when I was already a year married to your mother that I finally found out about the reason why she mysteriously broke up with me. Apparently she didn't want to burden me and she took care of our child all alone while I was enjoying life. She died because of overwork while providing for our child. I eventually told everything to your mother and she did not hesitate to do the right thing and from then the world knew we had two children."
I was a bit shocked but I recovered and now I understood why this was a topic that they did not want to tell me. But this changes nothing in my conviction to save my big bro... he was and always will be my big brother.
"This doesn't change the fact that we love him very much but it's just that we thought you deserve to know this." My mother chimed in.
"It doesn't Change anything.. my big bro will always be a part of our family." I said with determination
My parents as if surprised by my statement came over next to me and we all had a wholesome hug for a few moments. It truly feels like I still have lot's of emotion even despite being pretty cold hearted.
Thirty minutes later
Although today was a very eye-opener I still am not gonna change my dedication. I created a beautiful looking broad sword in my hand using death energy. I then summoned one of my undead knights to duel with me. I've noticed something that just by having these powers and knowing hot to use them won't really be that much of an effective practice so I decided that I need real combat practice.
I commanded my summon to go all out on me it doesn't matter even if it goes for the kill because this is what I need. I once read somewhere you should be hard on your enemies and even harder on your self. This I decided to take this approach to improve myself. The battle lasted for about an hour. I was able to defeat my summon mostly because I was using elemental attacks while also fighting in melee.
I then summoned 3 knights and 2 death mages to fight me as a group. This time it will be a real test of might. Even after getting severely hurt or getting killed won't hurt my undead. As long as they are not attacked by a strong soul attack or holy power they can infinitely regenerate themselves and the best thing is I don't even have to spend EP for it at all.
In battle pov.
I swung my sword to parry an incoming attack from one of the undead knights. It made a satisfying 'clang' sound.
One of the other two, one was coming from behind and the other was coming from my left. I created a earth separating me from their attack completely but before I could sigh in relief one of the mages launched a corrosive attack and my earth wall disintegrated with a blink of an eye.
The other mage cast another spell from which skeletal hands held down my legs and the knights were almost upon me, at this point. I quickly cut down the hands holding me down before casting a water dome to keep out the mage attacks. Their corrosive attacks will take time to break through water. Meanwhile I kept aggressively attacking the knights with my sword. At first my sword skills were nothing to mention but as time went by I learned and improved over the basic sword skills.
3 Hours later.
I was returning back home a little bit battered in my backpack were the clothes that got destroyed because of the battle today. My body was aching a bit but it was all worth it coz I improved a lot and not only that but I also got something like a danger sense. It helps sensing where attacks are coming from. I didn't make use of teleportation though as that would be kind of cheating and would defeat the purpose of the training.
I decided from now on I'll keep training like this until I can defeat over a hundred of my minions at the same time. For the time being though... I smell bad like rotten bad. I mean it can't be helped i literally fought with the dead anyways It will washout after showering hopefully.
I was now playing some games after taking a hot shower. I've been neglecting playing games but it can't be helped really as I've got stuff I need to do. Thankfully my rank did not get overtaken by some random hobo so that's a good sign at least.
Before I knew it the day ended and I was getting ever so closer to my goals.
"Status" I called out.

I've been growing smoothly so far but I always get this feeling that after I reach the other world I'll grow even more faster but then again it's just feeling so I did not take it that much seriously.
Although the amount of exp required to level up looks small.. lately the amount of exp I've been getting from daily and weekly tasks is getting very low to the point it's almost pointless. The only reason I do it is because of the free attribute points.
Today was kind of a tiring day, very mentally for me so I fell asleep after counting which sounds stupid but surprisingly works pretty well.
