Chapter 6: The Mystery Girl
It was a winter night. The freezing airbrushed her gently as she strode away along the river bank. Yanhui was feeling sad as the memories of her past life flooded. her mother, father, coach and wu qi's faces became a memory. Sadness or longing she didn't know. She spent her life alone and closed all her emotions inside her like a shell. she had never thought about having a company but it doesn't feel bad to have one it was better to have a company than having none she wondered.
''Oi young master hui are you wrestling with a fish'' jiang cheng snickered as he saw Yanhui on the river bank.
she replied ''its kickboxing not wrestling and NO'' She stressed the last syllable as she squeezed her mouth to an oval shape.
Yanhui looked cold and ruthless at first glance but was sweet. she adopted this demeanour to hide her true intentions and emotion. it was something her father taught her in the other world.
''A'Cheng what do you think about being alone in life'' yan hui asked him nonchalantly.
'' yo why are you asking me something like that you know that I can't stand being alone for more than an hour. if there are no girls and booze then life is a loss for me'' he replied with a stupid grin as he was drunk.
Yanhui slightly chuckled at his reply and walked away as the ripples of the river sang.

''Ma I'm fine you don't have to worry I'm just around the second street ill be there soon, YES I do have the taser with me. hmm ok I'm hanging up bye bye''
Lin Yun walked down the alley with her both hands occupied with groceries and household items. Lin Yun got a job at the CLs as she was recommended by her college professor. It was the first month of work and she got her salary. She bought the necessities her house was lacking and was walking with a small smile plastered over her face.
Walking in a merry mood suddenly she jolted as her grocery bag broke, she let out an irritated groan as she hurried to pick up all the fallen items. She shoved away her irritated emotions as it was a happy day for her and the smile was back as she continues picking. One of her apples rolled towards the pillar on the side as the lights continued to flicker.
Dim lights and an eerie vibe were not the perfect combo as currently, she was alone.
the smile soon diminished as she heard a small cracking. with fear blinding her all senses she grabbed the taser from her bag and was observed for surroundings That were when she saw a masked person wearing a trench coat walking in towards her from the opposite direction. ''shit'' she cursed under her breath as the person got closer and closer. the person wasn't someone you would see in a movie wearing stockings over his head, trying to ambush a person but he was simply wearing a simple black mask. But what made Lin Yun shiver was the person's broad shoulder and tall body which was enhanced by the big trench coat they were wearing. Lin Yun thought that it was a big bad wolf man trying to kidnap her. Soon she grabbed the Taser from her sling bag as the person was close to her. they were about to bend and pick up the apple and that was when she shocked him. '' Ahhh'' she screamed in a loud and high-pitched voice as she ran grabbing her sling bag while leaving her groceries there. She heard a faint feminine but husky groan as she ran. The person she attacked also had the scent of pine no... more like a eucalyptus? it was also familiar she thought. ''No no ''she shoved away her thoughts as they were surging in her mind. when she reached a safe distance she sighed as all the things she bought were still down there in the alley. she walked away with a disappointed face. she checked for her phone and that was when she realised she left it inside the grocery bag. '' Shiiit'' she cursed and groaned again softly.
back in the alley the masked person removed his mask and was still groaning as the shock felt quite painful. The masked person was none other than Yanhui she was walking back from the river bank. she wore a mask as she had a mild cold. ''this world or not, you can't help anyone without getting hit.''
she got up from the ground and glanced at the spoiled vegetables on the floor.
''ding ding'' she heard a notification sound. thinking it was from her phone she took it out of her pocket. The notification was empty as she again heard the ding sound. her eyes ran through the spilt items and caught the origin of the noise. It was another phone, quite an old one. She glanced at the screen as she read the message
'' Xiao Yunah where are you mama is worried about you why aren't you back''
''xiao Yun. Lin Yun '' She muttered as she saw her name on the phone case
A name so familiar but felt so foreign she wondered.
She grabbed the phone and walked away silently.
She walked through the alley and was about to reach her apartment when she received a call. " Hui Hui baby where are you? the butler called me and said you weren't back, Mother was worried"
"Mother.....don't call me baby you know that it's embarrassing "
"ok ok mother won't call you that but why aren't you back dear"
" Nothing Mother I was just feeling out of my mood so I went for a walk"
" ok ok, now you go back home and sleep tight. don't stay out in the cold"
" K mom bye bye"
she hung up the phone and entered her apartment
it was a large spacious three-story apartment with an excellent view of the city.
Yanhui took a warm shower and wore her PJs.
As she was about to go to sleep she remembered
about phone. She called Assistant Lee, her assistant to enquire about the girl and her family as she felt like she had to know it. A strange pull that she felt when she glanced at the wallpaper on the lock screen of the girl's phone. suddenly a shock of realisation hit her. it was the girl she saved back in the nightclub. "THE MYSTERY GIRL" she chuckled as she got another notification but this time from her phone.
Assistant Lee had fetched all the information regarding the girl in a fraction of a second.
He was truly efficient. the Gu Cooperation doesn't hire anyone unless they are highly efficient. true to their name.

Yan Hui counted her fingers as she was finding their age difference
she was twenty-six so three years.
She chuckled at her statement.
Meanwhile, Kai who was busy sorting out the
files of the Gu's was quite exhausted. He received a letter from his uncle a month ago.
his uncle who was a professor at S University recommended one of his best students to join the company. Kai was one of those men who considered women inferior, he thought the girl his professor recommended was another push over but she cracked his glass of expectations which was quite law. She was skilled at handling computers like a pro and was quite knowledgeable. People around her were affected by her too. Their enthusiasm also skyrocketed as being around bright sunshine like her. Now as the Gu cooperation security was handed to his company he can be at ease as he can hand the job to an efficient employee.
The main objective of her job was to mainly assign the guards who were outstanding in all aspects to the appropriate member of the Gu's. Along with that she also had to build a new firewall for their accounts as the old security ones were not quite ..... trusting. So it was quite a nerve-wracking job but they had to do it as it was an issue with their company's prestige and the trust of their clients.
