Chapter 12: Chapter 12

After Leon finished the tasks of the three habitats, he went back to eat lunch. Great Keristrasza told him to start with Mother Chelone's lessons first. Lady Heqet said to visit her last because she needed her afternoon nap.

After he had his fill. He went back to Mother Chelone's cave.

He looked at Chelone's status to check her talent.

Talent: Queen – increase ability to command subjects efficiently; subjects will gain a boost in stats when being commanded by her majesty.

So, a talent meant for group fights, Leon thought.

"Good afternoon, Mother Chelone. Thank you again for allowing me to learn aura," Leon bowed.

"If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it." Chelone replied.

"I will take your teachings to heart Teacher," Leon thanked.

Chelone knew her teachings took root and gave a satisfied nod.

"Let's begin… Have you tried sensing aura on your own Leon?" Chelone asked.

"Yes, teacher but I couldn't sense anything, I tried for hours but to no avail," Leon replied.

"That is natural. Aura is indeed around us but the concentration isn't much. For first timers, you need to meditate in an area concentrated in aura. Follow me," Chelone beckoned.

No wonder I wasn't able to feel anything, the aura was too low, Leon thought as he followed Chelone.

They arrived at a thundering waterfall deep within the cave.

"This is where we usually awaken squirtles that have the talent to use aura. This is your training grounds until you can feel aura. Jump under the waterfall and meditate in a lotus position," Chelone Instructed.

Leon complied and started his aura training.

A couple of hours later after their lesson. Chelone healed his fatigue with a Life dew. "This way, little Keri can train you to her hearts content," Chelone chuckled.

I was wondering how I was going to survive multiple training sessions per day. I guess they'll just heal me when I get tired… Leon's body instinctively shivered. I wonder if this is how spartan children felt back then, Leon sighed helplessly. No pain no gain! Leon thought.

"Thank you, Teacher. I'll see you tomorrow," Leon bid farewell. Chelone nodded and closed her eyes.

Leon then arrived at Great Keristrasza's chambers.

He did the same with her talent and read the description.

Talent: Battle Maniac – Increases combat comprehension; boosts all stats when fighting a stronger foe.

Truly a talent made for her, Leon chuckled inwardly.

Leon bowed. "Greetings Master, thank you once again for going out of your way to teach this lowly human your experiences in supreme combat." Kissassery activated.

"You're lucky! Big sister Chelone begged me to teach you, else, I wouldn't even look at you for a second." Keristrasza glared furiously. But her happy tail wag gave her away.

Master?!? It has a nice ring to it. He is indeed a prodigy, recognizing this overlord's supreme combat skills at first glance is commendable. Good thing I insisted on teaching him combat or else big sister Chelone and Heqet will have him all to themselves, hmph! Keristraszas thoughts drifted off topic.

"Follow me disciple," Keristrasza said happily.

They arrived near a mud bit surrounded by charmanders and charmeleons. He saw two charmanders duking it out.

"This is where the young ones gain experience in fighting. The mud also trains our weakness to ground type moves, it strengthens our legs and tails," Keristrasza informed.

After the fight was over, she picked Leon up and tossed him in the pit.
