Chapter 4: Demonic Child
In this world, an average human can live up to 100 years, and as humans gather mana inside their bodies they grow stronger, and life expectancy also increases.
A Saint Knight could live up to three hundred years.
I look at the mana around me and thought I'm already Immortal, as long as mana exists in this world I could use mana around me to nourish myself to make me younger, so in one way I beat the natural enemy of all living beings the aging.
Still, there was no guarantee that mana will exist forever, and where did the mana is coming from?
I had to find the answer to this question, and also find the way to attain true immortality, and for that I need an organization, an organization that operates on a global scale, to create such large organizations I need capable people who work for me, and for that I need money.
In the Gallant Knight Kingdom, people use the currency name Knight Coin, different kingdoms or empires have different currencies, so I'm in the Gallant Knight Kingdom so I need Knight Coin to gather people.
Tonight was the first night I would go out to earn money, how would I earn the money, of course by hunting down the bandits, I learn there was a group of bandits in nearby areas, so I plan to go there.
I put a black hooded cardigan over me, this cardigan was so long that it reached my feet and underneath I wore a black shirt and pants, then a hood covered my face, people can only see my lips nothing else, so this was the perfect disguise.
Although I couldn't see anything, I could sense mana around me, so I could easily sense my enemy around me and how they move, so it didn't matter even if my vision was blocked.
I jump outside of my room window, and land down without making any noise, I saw some guards but it didn't matter, at night my black clothes pretty much hide me, and by not making any sound I easily get out of my mansion.
Then running under the night sky, I reached the deep forest, I used mana around me to accelerate my speed, and one day I plan to make my speed the same as the speed of light or even surpassed it.
However that on another day, I saw some bandits down, they made circular groups around the campfire.
I looked at them and saw that everyone here was only a normal person, they don't possess mana more than 100, so basically I can defeat them without using any mana, I sighed and jump into the center of a campfire.
"Who?"
"What?"
"Calm down, everyone, this is only little boy,"
The bandits were surprised by my landing and got afraid as some fell but one of them calm down and pointed out my age.
Anyway, I take out my sword and looked at these people, my sense detect some people who are laying down, the mana inside them was leaving and there was one person who had many different people's mana inside, and the way mana entered was from below, so I knew what these bandits did.
"Let me handle him, this boy doesn't know the way of the world I guess," one of a bandit with little with a strong body come forward, he had a sword in hand as he appeared in front of me.
"Boy, are you playing some kind of hidden hero, huh? But it seems this is an end, it's a pity that your not a girl," The man said and swing his sword at me.
It was fast but I easily blocked it with my sword, I frowned and then moved mana all around my body and also coat my sword with mana and then strike my sword at him, and he got sliced up.
Yes sliced up like soft tofu, I didn't expect him to be this easy, I saw his head flying away and the body that moved around and blood was spurting out, eventually, the body fell and stopped moving.
I saw some cracks in my sword, I guess this sword couldn't handle the mana output I gave it, so I lower the amount of mana and density.
The air paused and everyone present here froze, they looked at me and I looked at them, not literally since my vision was blocked but I could sense them.
"Fucked up, ran,"
"This boy can use magic, everyone ran away,"
"Ran away,"
Everyone here starts to run away in a different direction, as they did, in mere minutes all of their heads on the ground.
I used mana only around my feet and my sword, using in feet makes me faster, and a sword was strong enough to kill them.
I took off the hood and my vision got back, then I look around myself, I saw many corpses without heads and heads rolling around, a nauseous feeling appeared but using mana I settle it down, I look at my hand and then a sword.
Killing a people, huh? Strangely I don't feel much guilt or any emotion, did these people feel any emotion when they killed someone? Did these people have family waiting for them? Did these people kill others and loot because of some kind of unfair reason?
"Whatever," I stop thinking about it and head to the carriage where loot might be.
When I saw inside, there were many Knight Coins, which might be over three hundred, well for the first loot it was pretty good, then I saw a cage, and inside was a monster or something I think.
I frowned, then realized it was not a monster, it was a person who becomes a monster, I read about it that some people become monsters, and people call them the Demonic Child.
Many Royal families and churches all over the world hunt down the Demonic Child, and anyone who hands over the Demonic Child to these royal families and churches, gets rewarded.
Then I saw mana inside this Demonic Child, and I saw chaos, the mana inside Demonic Child was unstable, and chaotic moving around and damaging its own body.
In normal people, mana would be calm and still but inside this monster it was chaotic and I guess this was what causes a human to turn into Demonic Child.
I try to control the chaotic mana inside hers but I wasn't able to do anything, I frowned I couldn't control mana inside someone else.
I thought over this as I head to the cage, I saw this Demonic Child sitting in with a hand warp around its legs.
The demonic Child's skin was muddy, it was like melting down, and "it" didn't have any hair on "its" head, and "its" head had some holes, eyes were big like a monster and one eye was destroyed, if I had to say then this was like the ugliest thing anyone can see, it didn't bother me though.
I put a hand on the Demonic Child's head, "it" shake a little but didn't react much.
After putting my hand on Demonic Child, again I try to move mana inside "it", and this time I'm able to make move, it was little but I'm able to do it.
I guess, it will take me time to fully control mana inside the Demonic Child, but I guess I could do it, little by little, and if I'm able to manage to make "It" chaotic mana calm down, then this Demonic Child would be turned into normal again.
I thought as I moved "It" to an abandoned home in the city I live, this home was far away from the mansion l live, so I fear someone might come here and find the Demonic Child, so I come up with the idea of Mana Link.
