Chapter 83: Surprise during the banquet

Was it hard to get the unconscious Ron, Potter, Sirius and Snape out of the Shrieking House?

Not really, he just tossed them like potato sacks into his extended trunk with a levitation charm and walked out.

Because Ron, Potter and Sirius were unconscious?

Soisen did.

Sirius became a little frantic at his failure and as for the other two, he didn't feel like explaining himself at all at the moment. Now what he wanted to do was to hand the "criminal" over to the Ministry to collect the reward and subsequently he would let Potter and Ron out.

Was it strange that even in this situation he would think of benefiting? He didn't think so.

He woke Snape up and after learning the situation, he started complaining that both son and father were ungrateful. He really didn't expect Potter to attack him treacherously!

When he heard the part about collecting the bounty, Snape stepped forward and asked Soisen to let him kill Sirius with his bare hands. He wouldn't feel at ease if he didn't do it himself.

Soisen shrugged and pulled the unconscious Sirius out, handing him over to Snape, under the condition that he must appear to have died in battle and must emphasize later that he proved an invaluable aid in successfully capturing the criminal.

Snape had no reason to refuse and although he had many plans for Black, he understood that he could not really take the liberty of carrying them out.

As Snape fulfilled another revenge on his list, Soisen reinforced the daze in Potter and Ron. He couldn't tolerate them waking up at this point or before he decided to release them.

What if they rummaged through his precious trunk?

Besides, the surrogate rat with the severed finger was released after giving him a small wound to attract predators in the area and give him a poison that would act in less than twelve hours as a safety backup. He didn't remember if Legeremancy could be done on an animal and the rat's memories could jeopardize his alibi.

Even if the rat wasn't devoured tonight, he wouldn't see the dawn when the matter of Black's capture broke out.

The only part that was currently bothering Soisen was that this was also the night when Lupin forgot to take his potion. But he suspected the reason for the oversight was that he ran off to meet Sirius at that time, so if there was no problem, he should be going through his change after keeping control with the potion at Hogwarts like the other times.

Still, the fact that Sirius was able to enter the school to attack the Fat Lady no doubt had a hand in it. Just to be sure, he didn't let his guard down until he and Snape returned to the school, full of "battle wounds caused by the confrontation against Sirius" that Snape very professionally, as a qualified spy that he was, had carefully placed to make them believable.

Are we worried about Ron and Harry telling another version?

Perhaps it would if Snape didn't know the memory spell.

It only takes one small, insignificant change, where instead of easily knocking Sirius out, Soisen and the criminal start fighting and a couple of stray spells knock them out early on. Later, they can tell that Snape regained consciousness from the commotion of the confrontation and helped.

Snape notified Dumbledore of the criminal's "defeat" and in less than half an hour, Sirius' body was taken away by the Ministry, while they took down statements and found Potter and Ron unconscious in an abandoned room, where they were left by the professor for their "safety".

Dumbledore had a feeling that something didn't add up, but he didn't distrust his best spy and the wounds Soisen showed in the infirmary support the story. Harry wasn't hurt either beyond a few scratches and Weasley couldn't believe that a madman would escape from Azkaban in order to finish off his pet rat. Which, by the way, he never saw again.

And so Sirius Black maintained his reputation as a madman and traitor until the end of his days.

Lupin seemed calm, but Soisen noted his subtle reaction when Black's death was reported. The following Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons were depressing for lack of a better word and near the end of the year, Soisen was awarded a Third Class Merlin Medal for helping to keep the magical community safe and bringing several novel products to market.

And what did Soisen do when he learned of the strange appointment, which was clearly a sham to bury the matter once and for all?

He went to celebrate by taking a long walk on the back of Buckbeak, with whom he made good friends throughout the year. It turns out that Hagrid would sometimes be gone for a couple of days when he didn't have lessons to stock up for lessons and Soisen would look after the hippogriff. The fact that he was careful and the creature would remember how he defended his honor helped greatly. It was safe to say that if Hagrid at any time needed to get rid of the hippogriff, Soisen would gladly adopt it as a mount of his own.

Leaving aside their unexpected friendship of the year, a small party was also held in the Galegold common room to honor the "hero" who saved Potter from a madman.

No, seriously, no one seemed to remember that Ron was there too.

It was funny!

Now, Soisen thought of doing something to liven up the castle to celebrate that the Dementors were finally withdrawn and visited Dumbledore in secret accompanied by Snape. After talking secrets for an hour, he left the Headmaster's office with the necessary clearance.

On the last day of Hogwarts, at the farewell meal, Dumbledore gave a speech as he does every year, where he emphasizes being united and how proud he was of how the students managed to carry on even with the dangers that lurked, but as he finished, raven feathers began to rain down on the Great Dining Hall to everyone's bewilderment.

-And in closing," said Dumbledore once everyone had eaten and the tables had suddenly vanished, "I think, everyone deserves a little celebration to let off some steam and lift their spirits. Ladies and gentlemen..." he was silent for a moment as he raised his hands and proclaimed loudly, "Nico Ravenheart!

It wasn't until particles of light formed the illusory figure they all knew and began to sing and dance under the visual effects, that their minds understood what was happening and the students went wild.

Everyone excitedly sang along in unison to familiar Ravenheart songs as they appeared, the boys tried to act cool, the girls cried with excitement and at some point that Soisen didn't know when or how it happened, Professor Flitwick could be seen waving glow sticks with the spirit and energetic movements of an accomplished K-pop fan.

The party went on for quite a while, until the last song played and Ravenheart vanished into thin air with a burst of fireworks.

They may have started this year on very dark notes, but they ended on happy notes!
