Chapter 96: Unexpected Guest

Chapter 96 - Unexpected Guest

-

[Lemuen POV]

It's reassuring to see Vaconawa has finally been slain. Now we'll just have to wait for Sai to swam back from the water. Honestly, he made fighting a Demi-God look easy. His movement was perfect and calculated. As if, he completely knows its next move. It's quite the crazy but a valid thought considering the display he showed with the both of us.

Not long after, an explosion erupted at the center of the lake, then came the figure of Sai who's magically walking on water and is slowly approaching us. It's quite the cool entrance after a good fight. But...

"Sai...?!"

"A-Aruji-sama!!"

Both Akari and I had our face paled when we saw Sai's current state. His body was covered in blood, with bruised and cuts all over. But most alarmingly, his left arm was cut off. Sai was critically wounded.

"I'm back..." Sai timidly greeted, stuttering. "S-See? I told you I'll come back..."

How can this be? I had thought that Sai would come back with only at least a mild injury, but I guess, despite his terrific performance, Vaconawa was still of a Demi-God. Sai certainly wasn't going to win the battle unscathed.

"You idiot!" I hurriedly approached Sai, supporting then gently lay him down the ground. Akari also helped me by going the other side. Dead worried as tears run her eyes out.

Once we successfully put him on the ground, Akari immediately took a [Healing Potion] and quickly put it in his mouth. As soon as he drank the Potion, all cuts and bruises along with his arm had been healed completely. Judging by the Potion's effectiveness, it's probably a high tier of a Potion. Nonetheless, he was still covered in blood, though.

"A-Aruji-sama! Are you okay?" Akari worriedly asked. Despite her deadpan behavior, I didn't expect for her to be this emotional.

"Y-Yeah. I'm good now." Sai assured, coughing violently. "Thanks for the Potion."

"Aruji-sama!" Akari shoved her face on Sai's chest as she embraced him tightly, after then comes a mild sobbing. "I'm so glad..."

"Yeah." Sai hugs Akari back, caressing her head with his other hand. "Sorry for worrying you..."

"That was extremely reckless don't you think?" I retorted.

"Well yeah," Sai replied. "Regardless, it will end up harder for me if we carelessly trek on the Artic with just my current arsenal. So, I decided to kill the Serpent."

"What an absurd solution you have..."

I'm sure there are many options to pursue if you want to eagerly prepare for something. I know he just wanted the safest out of us but isn't that a bit reckless?! Thinking about it, he's just boasting about his skill, isn't he?

"Sigh... All these crazy events happening is draining me..." I timidly said.

"Yeah, me too." Sai agreed. "We should rest at least 30 min—"

Boom! Sai was forced to cut his words as something explodes near besides us. We're supposed to be the only people in this place. Looking at the place of the explosion, all of us warily stood while we wait something beyond the explosion. And just like we have thought, under those slowly dissipating smokes, came an eerie woman who's slowly approaching us.

She was a matured looking big sister type and has the kind look if not for the fact that she was the cause of the explosion near us. Regardless, there's actually more than her appearance.

And that is, her overall appearance, resembles the older version of Akari. Long black hair coupled with red underneath it, crimson eyes, and most of all, her black wings.

The eerie woman stops in her tracks and stood in front of us, covered by her red crimson aura.

"—?!" Suddenly, my view was blocked by the hands of Sai, who was looking terrified after I shot a look in at him, gritting his teeth as sweat drops from his cheeks.

"Go behind my back and don't do anything." Sai sternly commanded. "This woman...is bad news."

"Hm, very curious, utterly fascinating." The woman said. "You...are an irregular, huh."

"Can I help you with anything, Ma'am?" Sai asked.

The woman paused for a moment, assessing us from every part possible. Once she was done, she begun and state her response.

"Hey boy," The woman said. "Art thou the one who vanquish thy Great Serpent? If thee, state thy moniker."

W-Woah... Wasn't that Old Language? Just how old is this woman to be using such words. Curious, I used the ⟨⟨Appraisal⟩⟩ Sai had given and began assessing the woman. Maybe I can find something from her information...

Is what I thought, but that option made me regret my decision.

"Eek?!"

『???: 2,800,000/2,800,000』

I was stunned, frozen stiff from the overwhelming nightmare I just saw. Even Vaconawa cannot even compared into her... Such being were standing before us, all I could do was tremble. Even Akari was trembling in fear. Perhaps seeing the same as mine. No wonder Sai gave us such threatening command.

This woman...is a monster!

Sai what are you going to do now?

————————————————————————————————————————————

[Sai Crimsonheart POV]

W-What now...

Out of all places, why is this woman here? I've just finished defeating Vaconawa, you know?! It's just one after another...

I'm really glad I was able to defeat Vaconawa not before long. Spray of lightning, gushing of winds, slow, reverberation inside me, I was struck with every possible thing Vaconawa can offer before me. It was so reckless that I lose my arms in the process while I dodge everything I can possibly evade. Thinking about it, Vaconawa wasn't the only being bombarded with.

Anyways, I have no choice but to answer her question for now.

"Sai Crimsonheart. That's my name." I replied. "As for the Serpent, then yes I'm the one who killed it."

"Sai Crimsonheart, thy tell? As I thought, thee existence thus still unbeknownst to us. A surprising news but a welcome one, I figure."

"O-Okay?" She's hard to understand... She's just muttering on herself. I have no idea on what she is saying. Nonetheless, there's no way in hell I would be able to stand against her.

After all, she's—

"Mhm," She nodded, pondering. "I've gathered such important information today. For that, I shall take my leave."

I let out a sigh of relief upon hearing her remark. But such relief will cease not long after her next statement.

"Pay heed, Irregular." She informed. "Thy nature was of an aberrant existence. That's why, I shall watch thy odyssey from now on. I bid you good luck."

After her remark and she plunge upward, creating a violent impact and flew away from who knows where. The three of us on the other hand, was left dumbfounded, nonplus to what just happened.

"S-Sai," Lemuen called which I replied by a yes. "Your life sure was an unfortunate mess, huh? Good luck, I guess."

I get that 100% If not for my invaluable knowledge of the game and I would've bawled my eyes out after that weird woman's departure. Letting out another sigh, I slowly kept in my composure.

"Since were done and all, we should leave this place right now." I informed. "It's late afternoon right now so any more than that and Night will catch up into us."

Having concurred decision, the three of us trek our way back into the Capital. I'm tired caused of fighting the Serpent but I had no choice but to endure. Goddammit! if only I had a mount and I would have not endured this suffering!

————————————————————————————————————————————

"A-Amazing..."

Today, I just witness something that will shock the world entirely.

Just now, I saw a person, just a single person, had slain the Demi-God Vaconawa with my very own eyes. People would never believe me for this but luckily, I had a Magic Camera to record the valiant scene that the unknown guy had spectacularly displayed.

"Don't worry, I will make sure your unperceived achievement gains the attention it deserves." I promised as I left the place in delight.

————————————————————————————————————————————

"That's right. What did you get after you defeated the Serpent, though?"

Upon returning from the Capital back into the Villa, Lemuen had asked me regarding the rewards as we walk. That's right, I still haven't opened the 『Monster Bag』 since I decided I'd open it if all the members were present. Hehe, got to boast some hard work so that it'll be worth it, you know?

By the way, I currently have the 『3 Monster Bag』 stored in my bag. You might have already know it but the reason I took Akari and Lemuen with me was so that the drop from the Serpent will triple instead of only a single bag. And judging by the pattern of all the bosses I fought, this world is rather placed at a higher difficulty. Nonetheless, I got to have more rewarding items thanks to it.

"I'll show it when everyone is present." I replied. "At any rate, hopefully those girls had come back now. It's getting pretty late after all."

"You're right," Lemuen replied. We're each about to return to our respective place so after some few walks, Lemuen will have to separate from us. "My house is this way so see you tomorrow. You better don't open that bag until tomorrow, alright?"

"Got it." I nodded, then turned to Akari. "Shall we go home then?"

* * *

"We're home!" I informed just as after we arrived back at the Villa. Akari also gave her greet but in a timid voice. I find it very cute.

"Ah! They're back!" On the kitchen, the girls seem to finally notice us and hastily came to greet us. It seems like they're already in the middle of dinner. I'm glad they're back already.

"Master!" Suddenly, Luna who came with me with tearful eyes leaped into me in delight. "I'm glad you're safe, Master..."

"Hehe. I did promise you after all." I replied, hugging Luna back and caressing her head.

Lily breathes out a sigh of relief, her body became weak and was about to fall over. "Really, that guy sure likes us to worry about him..."

"Yeah..." Seia timidly replied as her eyes slowly began to moist.

"Why are you all crying..." I said, raising my eyebrows. "At the very least, it was very anticlimactic."

"You returning here means...you beat it, right? The Serpent." Astra who had just realized it looked at me in disbelief. Seeing her reaction made me proudly grinned uncontrollably.

"You bet I did." I confidently replied. "I can show you the drops if you still can't believe me."

"Sure. Why not?"

"Only the bag, though." I added. "I want everyone to be present here before I open it."

Thinking about the rewards, I wonder what happened to their side. Though, I was feeling a bit tired already, so I decided to just ask for it tomorrow. Mhm, just thinking about rest is making me yawn instinctively.

With that in mind, I remove myself from Luna's embrace. "You know what? Let's just talk about this tomorrow. I'm too tired to think about anything else so I'm just going to hurry to bed first. You girls can go and continue with your dinner..."

"Okay..." Lily replied. "You fought with a Godlike being so it's a given you'll be tired."

Well, that's kind of surprising. I had thought they wouldn't believe me but... Never mind, I don't want to think about anything anymore...

I heard the girl's murmured conversation before I went into the bathroom to take a shower. I might be dead tired right now but there's no way in hell I'm going to sleep with all the dirt and sweat sticking from my body.

"So tired..."

After cleaning myself from the shower, I immediately went straight into my bed. The moment I felt the softness of the cushion, all the fatigue I accumulated in just a span of day struck me and my consciousness, falling asleep instantly.
