I left my uncle place to my mum home there I stayed for about 4years. I was really enjoining my stay there for the life I was yeaning to live all through my life was being displayed there. Imagine a child living outside his mother home, imagine how it feels to have your mother visit you at the end she will tell you that she will come and take you but reverse will always be the case imagine a child living with an uncaring batchelor since the Age of three so why wouldn't I be happy when live eventually turned me to start living with my mother at the age of 18
So I was very happy though mixed up because my mum was not living in a good home kpako as we normally say was best definition of this home we live, though at least it provides comfort.
One faithful day, I came back from school and I was about to eat, what my mum cooked for me . Suddenly noise erupt behind our neighbor house . I was wondering who would have been disturbing us by that time of the day, one needed to rest, after the treck I had that day from school. So I waited a little but the noise was getting too much and I was hearing my mum voice too. I thought my mum was the one fighting with my neigbour or that she is owning some one and they came to disgrace her, so I rushed out to check if this two was the case, but to my greatest supprise, my mum was the peace Maker here. so as a man I am, you know how my temper would have been, so I decided to calm down. people started trooping out from different part of the street to witness the drama, some came to have the latest gossip of the day. Well I never said it was bad but I always warn my mum to represent me very well outside the street cause I know my reputation from where I was coming from and I never wanted anybody to stain it
mama Emma was our neighbor we cooperate well, some time my mum will cook
bring for her and her children, some time she will Cook and bring for us, this was the very friendship we share together. my mum will always say when ever she gives her something
"ewu ezigbo nwanyi njere MBA luta". this statement do occure in Igbo land when the lady in question was being married to someone from your village or even some one from your extended family. mama Emma have a brother called amechi. amechi was a fine gentle man though average height, he does artistry for a living, I must say he is a very hard-working man and he has kind heart as a credit too.
people like to be around him because he is a jovial and friendly guy. there was this girl she was dating since 2013, her name is oge.
oge was a good girl at first, behaving nicely that some family members trusted, cherished her and did everything for her to be happy. their love grew to the point that amechi can not do anything without her they moved on like a love bird, to the extent that amechi sacrifice his London visa because of her.
amechi cousin came back to Nigeria decided that he will take amechi to London on his next travel, they both agreed and he made visa for him and things necessary for his traveling he was planning it very well, oge agree to that at the initial stage and was very happy, that her one and only will be travelling to London she was breaking the news to every body who she knows, she can sit down with and talk to.
unfortunately something happened, oge changed her mind immediately two days before the day amechi was expected to took off. "she said to him, am sorry love, you can't travel" the guy was like what did you mean!
and she said to him, "I don't want to loose you to this oyibo girls" if you live me here in Nigeria am going to die and my family will take you responsible for my death. please if you love me don't travel let stay here in Nigeria we will make a batter life, hmmm the thing was even getting serious, even when the guy was begging her, upon everything he had promised her, yet she refused. upon how he have explained but she refused. as they are both raising their voice she rushed into the kitchen got a knife said to him," amechi tell me you are not going to travel or I will stab my self here", amechi was about to speak she spoke again "amechi all I need now is tell me you are not going to travel", amechi was in shuck and speechless until the third time, she raised the knife and was about to stab her self, amechi said, "ok ok I promise you you I will never travel," immediately she fainted with the knife on her hand.(amechi rushed her to the hospital).
the doctor checked her up and instructed the nurse to give her a drip and told amechi to worry less that she will be fine in next 1hour.
she just need a bed rest.
amechi said. " ok" and seated on her right hand side in the bed amechi was so anxious and zealous to see her wake up. so after an hour, she didn't wake up Amechi check his watch and it was exactly one hour but she didn't wake up, he rushed and called the doctor on her office with out minding the procedures he should have gone before seeing the doctor. amechi went straight to the doctor and said to him "doctor she haven't woke and an hour has passed", the doctor smile to him, and tell him to go back to their ward that is not a must it must be an hour all she needed was a bed rest. he calm down but was not satisfied, but what could he do, it was coming from a medical professional so let him pay a deaf ears to his doubts. so he went back to their ward and seated same spot he was seating before. admiring how beautiful she was. he was looking at her from head to toe, thinking on what have brought her to that hospital, well should I sacrifice my whole life dream for love?, I'm not getting younger anymore!, all my mate outside this country have been making money!, I'm the only son of my father they needed me to make life easy for our family.
my cousin will never give me a fish, instead he will teach me how to catch a fish, why should he give me a fish, when we are just cousins?. coming to the side of oge how do she want us to stay under poverty?, did she want our children to suffer?, oooh. oge I love you so much!, you are now blackmailing me with love. now I understand, what a.i ( artificial intelligence) was talking about, by love means " I am bewitch by you". oh God lead me I love her so much I don't want to loose her, but I need money. my mum is even getting old too, who will take care of her?, my sister's are in their husbands house, nobody is remembering home, worst part is that their husbands are not even well to do. and now ogem want me to sacrifice this only opportunity I had now, he was on his thoughts, before he look on his time again and realized that another hour has passed and oge was still deep at sleep.
