Chapter 15: City Outing (2)

"Hmm..." (Laila)

Seeing her trying to decide what type of clothes to buy, I silently sighed beside her.

Right now, we are inside a clothes store trying to decide what to buy. At first, this sounded normal, but the location we're at is far from normal. We are located in the children's wear section instead of the normal adult wear.

"Ray, which of these do you think is a better fit?" (Laila)

Holding two children-size white summer dresses, Laila asked me to choose between the two. On her right hand, a long light blue one-piece summer dress with white frills while on her other hand a pure white dress with a neat impression.

"I think the white one looks better" (Ray)

"You think so too? I guess I should buy this"

Seeing her finally deciding what to buy, I made a relieved smile. Remembering how she takes 1 hour to decide on what to buy, a sigh escapes my mouth. The shopping lasted for 4 hours which resulted in buying 4 clothes in which two of which are for me. What annoyed me were people's gazes that is always concentrated on us as we shopped. But thinking how flashy Laila's appearance was, I could understand their gaze.

Right now Laila and I had the same appearance as our in-game avatar, from the outside we looked like college students shopping together. But with us appearing at the cashier with only children's clothing, people are bound to misunderstand.

Arriving at the checkout area, we placed the bought clothes on the counter, and a holographic avatar resembling a fairy appeared and scanned the clothes we bought.

-Scanning Complete, Please proceed with the payment via card or items of equal value

"Amazing! To think light magic could be used like that" (Laila)

As a magic specialist like Laila, the appliance of light magic to serve customers interests her greatly. Because of her trait which enables her to see through the essence of magic, she could understand the meticulous structure of the artificial fairy in front of her.

Ignoring the excited Laila, I brought out the disguise black card Mina gave us.

-Scanning...

-Scanning completed! A special <S+> Ranked card has been detected.

-200,000 Credit has been withdrawn.

-71,823,239,123 Credit remaining

"What!? Did I just hear 71 trillion?" (Laila)

"...I guess she wasn't lying about us capable of buying everything" (Ray)

After saying that, I turned my gaze toward the surroundings...

As expected, attention gathered at us. The amount of money seems to be kept private and can't be heard by outsiders but, the reason onlookers were staring at us is because of the card color scheme, a card that only <S+> could obtain.

Because of our young appearance, the <S+> card seems to catch more attention than it should.

"HOLY!! A <S+> card holder, he appeared to be young as well!"

"Who are they? If such talent appeared, the news would've at least mentioned it before"

In fact. The <S+> card is a fake using a special disguise chip, people know that such features exist, but you could only disguise it into a lower level and can't disguise a <D> card into a <S> card.

At first, Rayford didn't know about this feature, but he found out after he analyzed the card structure out of boredom.

"Okay let's go find something to eat" (Laila)

"Sure" (Ray)

[Advance Magic: Curtain of Night]

After the payment was finished, Rayford used a stealth technique and disappeared from view.

In a place not far from where Rayford and Laila disappeared. Two women were watching them from afar.

"Wow... They disappeared" (Mina)

"Seeing that kind of stealth makes me wonder about what kind of life they had in their previous life" (Anna)

"Ah right, I forgot that they are an inheritor, they must've had a powerful soul to have that many memories intact. (Mina)

Remembering the pressure the prince released before, she could roughly imagine their strength. Even though the pressure isn't directed at her, she was still incapacitated and can't move.

An invisible pressure that didn't contain a speck of mana or aura, but instead a feeling of being enveloped by the endless void in which even time was nonexistent.

Facing such pressure, Anna and Mina felt a deep fear for the first time in their life. If Laila didn't quickly stop the pressure, they would've fainted while the soldiers would be crippled or died. This just showed how dangerous the situation before was.

"Right... if I'm not wrong, that witch is also an inheritor right?" (Mina)

"You mean the Stellar Witch?" (Anna)

"Right... The only Archmage specializes in star magic and The vice principal of Arcana Academy" (Mina)

"Hmm... If my memory is correct, she has said something about being an inheritor before" (Anna)

"Have you met her before? You are an alumnus of that school right?" (Mina)

"I think I've met her before but..." (Anna)

"But...?" (Mina)

"The aura she had was incomparably smaller than The Prince's, it was like comparing an ant and the sun" (Anna)

"Isn't that too exaggerated? There is no way... No, maybe you're probably right" (Mina)

The pressure The Prince had was not something a human should be able to emit, incapacitating two <SS+> combatants was not something that should be possible unless a god was to directly decent and do so.

"Could they be some sort of god?" (Mina)

"Hmm... If god exists, you're probably right" (Anna)

"If so, do we still need to protect them? Aren't they strong enough to protect themself?" (Mina)

Hearing Mina's words, Anna silently nod her head and spoke.

"That's why we need to become stronger so that one day we would be strong enough to follow them" (Anna)

"Yeah... we need to become stronger If we want to stay by their side" (Mina)

"I think I will go on an expedition to train after this mission, at the same time I want to settle an old debt I've been delaying for a while" (Anna)

"Eh?" (Mina)

Surprised by her sudden declaration, Mina made a confused face which Anna smiled in response.

"So please take care of the prince and the lady while I'm gone" (Anna)

"..." (Mina)

With a nod, Mina accepted her request and silently vow to become stronger as well.
