Chapter 66: The Incident at The Night Market
With Fu Yue here, the team atmosphere was great since he would always make sure that no one was being left out.
Even Li Haoran started to make some jokes with Wei Chen after realizing that the latter seemed to not mind them goofing around.
Zhao Fu, on the other hand, was a foodie. His hands and mouth were always full of food.
Even though he had long legs, he was lagging behind the group as he kept being distracted by food.
Rather than talking, he enjoyed listening and nodded from time to time with an excited expression like a child.
To avoid being recognized by fans, they all covered up and stuck close together.
Zhao Fu was behind the group while Yang Yuxuan and Li Haoran walked in the middle. As for Fu Yue and Wei Chen, they were at the front.
Both Fu Yue and Wei Chen were incredibly tall beautiful men.
Watching them walk side by side as one talked nonstop while another listened with great patience, the picture was so harmonious that no one dared to step in between them.
It was unimaginable to learn that it hadn't been that long since those two had known each other.
Being the middleman, Yang Yuxuan secretly signaled Li Haoran with his eyes. Li Haoran only took a moment to understand his message.
Loudly clearing his throat, Li Haoran exclaimed while slapping his forehead, "Aiya! I forgot that I have to buy something! Captain, how about you continue strolling the market with Si-ge?"
Zhao Fu, who didn't hear his name being mentioned confusingly spoke up with food still in his mouth, "What about me?"
Li Haoran quickly hugged his right hand and winked, "Old ge, you are coming with me!"
Yang Yuxuan immediately followed suit, "I will go look after them. Let's meet up one hour later at the square."
And just like that the big bear Zhao Fu was dragged away by his Bot Laners and soon disappeared into the crowd.
Wei Chen and Fu Yue wordlessly glanced at each other.
They both were not fools and immediately realized what their intention was.
Taking a big bite of the scallions pancake, Fu Yue spoke with great confidence, "Yang Yuxuan is the instigator."
Hearing his complaining tone, Wei Chen let out a small chuckle causing Fu Yue to look at him questionably, "Aren't you bothered?"
"Why should I?" Wei Chen shot back as he seemed to not understand his question.
Looking at his unbothered attitude, Fu Yue was somewhat surprised. However, a few moments later, he realized that it was not strange for Wei Chen to react this way.
They have a clear conscience so there is nothing to fret about.
Just as they were about to move on, Wei Chen's phone suddenly buzzed.
Seeing this, Fu Yue suggested, "Let's go to a quieter place."
"Mn."
The two moved away from the busy street and reached a small park nearby where not many people gathered.
When Wei Chen picked up the call, Fu Yue politely moved away to avoid eavesdropping.
However, just as he looked around he happened to spot a milk tea shop not far away.
At this moment, Wei Chen happened to glance in his direction so Fu Yue gestured to him that he would be back soon.
Without waiting for Wei Chen's response, Fu Yue merrily trotted away.
Fortunately, the line was not long and Fu Yue bought two cups of milk tea and leisurely walked back.
Tugging his scarf down, Fu Yue bit the straw and took a sip of his milk tea. His eyes squinted in satisfaction.
However, his happiness didn't last long. Just as he was about to turn a corner, he deeply frowned.
A strong smell of tobacco suddenly filled the air causing him to feel unwell all over as if countless ants were crawling all over his skin.
A sleazy voice was soon heard in this empty alley, "Hey, beauty, are you here alone?"
Fu Yu coldly narrowed his eyes at the approaching group of three men.
The skinniest man playfully whistled, "I told you with that face, he should be an Omega."
The shortest one greedily looked at Fu Yue up and down while rubbing his chin, "Even if he is an Alpha, Laozi doesn't mind!"
"You two shut up! You are scaring him! Hehe, don't mind them. We just want to have a casual chat with you."
Fu Yue spat out the straw and disdainfully sneered, "How about we have a chat at the police station?"
Seeing that his attitude was tough, the three's faces darkened. They maliciously laughed, "This beauty has quite a temper! Since you like it rough, this Ge doesn't mind giving it to you!"
After putting down these words, a wave of concentrated pheromones abruptly hit Fu Yue's nose.
Being caught unprepared, his head became dizzy and he couldn't help but stumble backward.
Noticing his reaction, the three laughed and one of them stepped closer.
Before the man could lay his hands on him, Fu Yue dug out something from his coat's pocket and accurately sprayed it at his eyes.
The guy who got sprayed yelped in pain and cursed incessantly, "You two grab him for me!"
Even though Fu Yue was affected by the pheromones, it didn't hinder his movement at all.
Fu Yue may be a good-natured person on normal days but it didn't mean that he couldn't fight.
Just as he was about to teach these guys a lesson, hurried footsteps were suddenly heard coming in this direction.
Before he could even react, a gust of wind brushed by. The closest man to him got kicked and flew away like a broken kite before hitting the wall and then sliding to the ground.
Fu Yue's vision was soon occupied by a familiar tall figure with a broad back standing in front of him blocking the entire scene.
"Urgh!"
The cold menacing pressure of a Dominant Alpha suffocated the air causing those three to sprawl on the ground and tremble like a sieve.
Hearing those painful screams, Fu Yue snapped back to his senses.
The usual gentle scent at this moment was extremely aggressive and dangerous as if being drowned in a frozen lake.
Even Fu Yue instinctively feared the man in front of him.
Nevertheless, he forced down this instinctive reaction and moved closer to the taller man. Grabbing his right hand, he worriedly called out, "Wei Chen, that's enough!"
Fu Yue nervously tightened his grip. He was unsure whether this was enough to wake Wei Chen up.
He has heard that when Dominant Alphas became angry reasoning was useless with them. Unless they were soothed by their partner's pheromones, the situation could become really bad.
However, the two were not in that kind of a relationship and it was not right for him to do so.
While Fu Yue was contemplating calling his teammates for help, the usual clean and gentle scent reappeared.
In the next second, his hands got enveloped by another pair of big hands as Wei Chen leaned his face closer to his.
"Are you okay?!"
Fu Yue dumbly watched the unfamiliar man in front of him.
At this moment, Wei Chen's neatly combed hair was messy and his bangs were scattered all over his forehead.
His light blue eyes were full of fright and wandered all over his body restlessly. In addition, his already pale face seemed to become even paler which looked rather worrying.
Currently, the calm and collected Captain Wei is nowhere to be seen.
Wei Chen mistook Fu Yue's slow reaction as he was being too scared to speak which made him even more anxious.
Wanting to reassure the other party, Wei Chen gently pulled to person in front of him into a light hug and clumsily patted his back.
His voice was hoarse and full of self-blame, "Sorry, I am late."
Feeling the stiffness from the person in his arms, Wei Chen continued to comfort him, "I am here now. There is no need to be scared anymore."
The scared (?) Fu Yue who planned to beat those guys until their mother couldn't even recognize them, "..."
Realizing that Wei Chen had gotten the wrong idea, Fu Yue didn't know how to react in this situation so that he wouldn't make the other party feel embarrassed.
But... Being surrounded by this nice smell and warmth... doesn't feel that bad?
"Cough... Can you explain what is happening here?"
Startled, Fu Yue looked over Wei Chen's shoulder to see two police uncles standing near those guys who fainted with foam in their mouths.
Fu Yue: "..." It is over, will they appear on the hot search tomorrow?

Fu Yue's ears heated up. He awkwardly clarified, "We are not in that kind of a relationship!"
At his words, those who witnessed the scene of them hugging each other looked at him with distrustful eyes as if they were saying: I believe you a ghost.
Fu Yue: "..."
After the four walked out of the police station, the police uncles started to gossip.
"Are they celebrities?"
"With their appearances, it seems to be so. Maybe that's why they are denying the relationship."
"Nah. Only the little Omega brother did. Can't you see that his Alpha didn't say anything? Not to mention, he was so possessive that his partner was reeked with his pheromones! Those guys are so stupid to mess with a Dominant Alpha!"
"Ah, no wonder. You retreated to the back and didn't come out."
The Alpha police uncle rolled his eyes, "You, Betas wouldn't understand! Alphas like him are a total maniac! Thankfully, his anxiety over his partner is greater than his outrage or else it won't end peacefully like this!"
"Where are those scoundrels?!"
An angry roar was heard followed by a big-built middle-aged man dashed inside in his pajamas.
Everyone immediately stood up straight and fearfully greeted him.
Seeing their chief suddenly appear out of nowhere, everyone asked in perplexity, "Chief, what are you doing here?"
The chief snickered, "To see those idiots who dare to mess with the Fu's little prince!"
To think that the little ancestor almost had an accident in the place where he was stationed! Those basta*ds really want to drag him down!
Usually, releasing their hormones in public would result in heavy fines and a few days in jail but at the moment, it was evident that those guys wouldn't get off easily anymore.
Not knowing what happened at the police station after they left, Coach He drove Wei Chen and Fu Yue back whereas Team Leader would go and fetch the other three members.
Coach He regretfully sighed, "Fu Yue, in the future you have to be extra careful and don't wander off alone."
Knowing that he had caused trouble for everyone, Fu Yue didn't speak up for himself and was about to apologize when the silent Wei Chen coldly cut in.
"Why is it his fault when he is a victim?"
Coach He was startled by Wei Chen's icy tone and unconsciously looked into the rearview mirror only to meet with the latter's terrifyingly dark eyes.
Even though Coach He was a Beta, he was still intimidated by Wei Chen's strong momentum and hurriedly averted his eyes.
Realizing that he had phrased his words wrongly, he quickly explained, "I shouldn't have said that. Fu Yue, I am sorry."
Fu Yue hastily denied, "No, it is okay. I am fine! It was true that I was careless, I am sorry."
Seeing that Fu Yue didn't hold a grudge against his words, Coach He heaved a sigh of relief.
"Thank you." Coach He gratefully said.
Wei Chen no longer spoke and closed his eyes as if he was resting.
Fu Yue didn't disturb him and the trip back was strangely suffocating, at least for Coach He.
Arriving at the base, Wei Chen was the first to step out. He then kept the door open with his right hand.
Fu Yue momentarily paused. Realizing the other's intention, he slowly stepped out of the car through the door opened by Wei Chen.
Wei Chen wordlessly closed the door and turned to walk toward the main building.
Watching his retreating back, Coach He confusingly muttered, "Is he in his susceptible perio-"
Before he had the chance to finish his sentence, Wei Chen suddenly stopped and glanced over in their direction.
Coach He instinctively changed his words and urged Fu Yue, "Okay, you should quickly go to bed and take a rest. I will be downstairs if you need me."
Fu Yue nodded his head and trotted in Wei Chen's direction.
Only when Fu Yue reached Wei Chen's side did the latter finally resume his walk at neither fast nor slow pace.
So he really was waiting for me.
Fu Yue gave a wary sigh. He then stepped forward to block Wei Chen's path.
"Let's be clear. It is my fault for wandering around alone, not yours."
Wei Chen pursed his lips and stared at the person in front of him without saying anything.
Fu Yue found this situation a bit funny. He was the victim but others would have thought that it was Wei Chen instead after seeing his distraught expression.
He patiently questioned, "Do you have anything to say to me?"
Even after this, Wei Chen seemed to have difficulty opening his mouth.
Witnessing this, Fu Yue ultimately turned around, "Since you have nothing to say. I will be leaving then."
He had just taken a single step when he suddenly felt a slight tug from his winter coat.
From behind, Wei Chen's low voice softly whispered, "For marking you with my pheromones without your permission, I am sorry."
Just sensing another pheromone on him, he was reminded of his failure to prevent the accident which caused him uncontrollable rage.
Before he knew it, he had erased those disgusting smells with his own as if marking his territory.
And Wei Chen hated himself for this.
By doing so, he was no different from those people.
