Chapter 1: Shafiq

A well-dressed boy with silver-white hair and deep blue eyes that seemed to shimmer sat before a large antique wooden desk. His eyes were focused on the book placed on the desk, a magic circle was depicted on the open pages with an ornate-looking dagger placed in the center.

Silver strands of mist flowed from his fingertips to the magic circle. The circle illuminated the dagger with light that seemed to scan its very essence.

A silver blade with skull handguards, a black-scaled leather handle, and a black onyx stone for the pommel. A dagger made of Goblin Silver and the family heirloom of the Shafiq family.

While not as famous as the sword of Gryffindor, it was this dagger that caused the rise and fall of the Shafiq family.

The ancestor of the Shafiq family was nothing but a poor Egyptian wizard until he found an ancient tomb. There, he found the dagger but was also cursed with a blood malediction when he grasped the handle.

The treasures he gained that day started the rise of the Shafiq family but also cursed every male descendant. No male Shafiq has lived past the age of thirty.

He learned the truth from the family journals in the study he now resided. Three of the four walls were filled with books, the efforts of every generation to break the curse.

Black magic books from all over the world in every language lined the shelves. In their short lifetime, every male Shafiq displayed extraordinary potential in their study of black magic and curses to find a cure.

Yet, in all this time, no cure was found. Even so, no family dared to say they knew curses and blood magic better than a Shafiq. Even if their numbers dwindled, no one dared break into their castle.

It was Shafiq magic that cursed the House Elves into a lifetime of servitude after all.

The boy stopped supplying magic to the circle and started tapping his finger on the desk. "I've analyzed Goblin silver every way I can, but still can't find the trick. Is Goblin magic that much different than a wizard? How can they grant evolutionary properties to metal?"

His brows furrowed and a look of frustration appeared in his eyes. "Do I need to grab a few goblins back to study?"

Goblins, compared to other magical creatures, were surprisingly united. Now Voldemort was in full swing and they would be on alert.

His brows relaxed as he leaned back in his chair and sighed. "How happy I was before learning about the curse."

Eleven years ago he was reborn into this world and his mother died with his birth. He doesn't know if he was the cause, but he still remembered his father's sad eyes to this day.

Not because his mother was dead, but because he knew I would live this life alone. Just three years later the curse took his father's life as well.

He would have been desperate if he wasn't reborn with a gift. The day he was reborn he was given a message and a gift.

The first told him he could continue to travel to other worlds. To travel he had to complete the goal of the original plot or conquer the world.

The second message was the gift, he gained everything from Touko Aozaki from the Nasuverse. Her twenty excellent magic circuits, her magical knowledge, and her extraordinary talent.

He didn't know if what he got was the best prize, but it was the prize that fit him best.

The combination of two magical systems produced a wonderful effect. One focused on the body and the other was based on the soul.

Normally, the magical radiation a wizard's body produced affected their soul. That was the reason they could become ghosts yet a muggle could not.

His magic circuits provided a pathway for his magic to flow between his body and soul. This not only strengthened his magical power and soul, but it also gave him unparalleled control over magic.

"If all else fails, I can make a new puppet body and use the Horcrux spell like the 3rd true magic to transfer my soul." He was never worried about death, but he wanted to be perfect.

He was reborn and could travel to new worlds so he decided to push magic to the limit. He knew a damaged soul would be a limitation.

"Unless I could find a way to complete my soul."

His eyes flashed as he ran through new ideas in his head. Originally, he planned to fight his curse by using an even stronger curse.

Based on Goblin Silver to take in only that which makes it stronger, he was going to design a curse that could evolve.

While he was thinking, the door to the study was pushed open. A woman with a soft face wearing nothing but a black negligee and pink stockings walked in.

She had long flowing black hair with pink highlights at the ends and golden eyes that seemed to be filled with love. Between her brows were three vertical dots that made her look like a Buddhist monk.

"Virgil, are you still studying that dagger?" She spoke in a soft tone that was comfortable to listen to.

Virgil turned his eyes toward his greatest creation.

"What happened to me was just an accident, an abnormal ability I gained when your magic filled my body." She licked her lips when she spoke the last portion and slid her fingers down her body.

Virgil's eyes were attracted to her round perky breast, curvy waist, thick thighs, and plump butt with the movement of her fingers. "Accident or not, the fact it could happen proved its possibility."

"Magecraft is nothing but the recreation of mystery."

His brows raised and he looked into her golden eyes. "Or, Kiara, do you think I can't figure it out?"

Kiara shook her head and walked towards Virgil. "No."

She reached out and brushed the hair from his face. "I think you can do anything."

Virgil smelled the sweet scent from her body and smiled. He leaned forward and rested his head against her stomach. He felt her breast rest against the top of his head and enjoyed the warm soft feeling.

Kiara ran her fingers through his hair and tried to take his worries away.

Virgil closed his eyes and let his mind relax for a moment.

Kiara was a puppet he made based on a servant from the Fate world. At first, it was just an attempt, but she turned out better than expected. When he saw her completed body he went one step further and made her a familiar.

Her witch genes were based on Bellatrix Black, his cousin on his mother's side, mixed with that of a Veela. She had the eyes of a Demiguise that let her predict the future, the bones and tendons of a dragon that gave her great strength and speed, and Goblin Silver coated and infused bones.

With all the materials, time, and effort that went into her body, he thought making her just a puppet was a waste. He then used a Boggart as her soul and bound it to her body with fake magic circuits made of his hair.

When his magic poured into her body to give her life, she gained an abnormal ability. A small chance event that could happen to every familiar.

Based on the Goblin silver, all the disorderly genes in her body were mixed into a whole. Taking the advantage of every creature used to create her.

Even now, she still possessed a weak evolutionary ability.

Virgil opened his eyes and wrapped his arms around her waist. "How was everything at the church today?"

Kiara thought for a moment before replying. "Another child was brought to the monastery today, a seven-year-old boy. His family passed through the town on their way to London. Not long after they left they crashed into an oncoming car and died. He had no immediate family and the town police brought him to the church."

Virgil let go of Kiara and couldn't help but sigh. "Another one? How's the training of the others?"

"Two girls and a boy will turn eighteen soon, the girls will join the sisterhood and the boy will be sent off to college. You've already made a replacement for the girls and can be sent out as well."

On the property were both a girls and boys' monastery that took in orphans. They were trained and raised to be agents loyal to him. The boys were sent out when they came of age and the girls became nuns on the estate.

Using their clean identity, he created female puppets and sent them into society. Between them, he collected a lot of muggle resources over the years.

Even if the puppets needed to come back every year for maintenance it was worth it.

Virgil nodded before grabbing the dagger from the book and sheathing it at his waist. The book closed on its own and floated to the other side of Virgil's waist as he stood up.

The black leatherbound book was densely covered in sigils and runes with an inverted pentagram on the front.

"Let's go to bed, I still have to get up early tomorrow to train." Virgil left the room with Kiara following behind.

Outside the study was a grand staircase leading to the main entrance on the first floor. The entire second floor surrounded this entrance and one could stand around and watch anyone who entered the castle.

He always thought this was a massive waste of space as a third of the second floor was useless. The only use for such a large open space on the first floor was for aristocratic parties. Something no member of the Shafiq family had ever organized.

This left him baffled as to why the castle was built this way. He even checked his ancestor's journals to see if the castle was really built by a member of the family.

Virgil glanced down the stairs before moving to the left. The last room on the left and right sides of the second floor were master bedrooms. The one on the right used to be his parents' room, but it has now been cleared out by him.

The hall was illuminated by torches hanging on the stone wall that looked slightly empty.

Kiara looked at the empty space before turning her eyes to Virgil. "Are you going to hang the portraits back on the walls? I never got to see them."

"No, not only do they talk too much, they can connect to other portraits outside the castle. Plus, every time you walk through the front door you'd have hundreds of eyes looking down on you."

They arrived at the master bedroom at the end of the hall and Virgil pushed open the door.

Moonlight shone through the massive window and illuminated the large canopy bed. The room was the size of a small house and set up like one. A plush couch and antique-looking armchair for one to sit by the fireplace. By the window was a table to sit and read with natural light if one tiered of padded chairs.

Kiara stepped forward and started helping Virgil undress. "Thinking about it, shouldn't your Hogwarts admission letter arrive soon?"

A look of realization appeared on Virgil's face and the corners of his lips curled. "I got so caught up I forgot all about it."

He shook his head and wasn't too worried about it. The excitement has long since passed and Hogwarts was nothing more than an interesting place to him now. The only things to look forward to were the books and a few items hidden inside.
