Chapter 9: 8. Attack on SHIELD
"You speak of control yet you court chaos." Thor said as he looked at Fury.
"That's his m o isn't it. I mean what are we a team? The only one that I currently have no problems talking with is Kabir and what are the rest of us? We're a chemical mixture that makes chaos. We're a time bomb." Bruce said to them as he looked at them.
"You need to step away." Fury said to the doctor.
"Why shouldn't the guy let out some steam?" Tony said as he placed his left hand on Steve's right shoulder.
"You know damn well why back off!" Steve said as he slapped his hand away.
"Oh I'm starting to want you to make me." Tony said to the captain as he glared at him.
Steve chuckled as he walked a bit.
"Big man in a suit of armor. Take that off what are you you?" Steve asked as he looked at him.
"Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist." Tony said without missing a beat as he looked at the soldier.
Natasha gave a look of acknowledgement with Kabir shrugging as well.
'Well, he walked into that one.' Kabir thought to himself as he looked at the two before he glanced at the sceptre.
"I know guys with none of that worth ten of you. Now, I've seen the footage, the only thing you fight for is really yourself. You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play. To lay down on the wire and let the other guy crawl over you." Steve said to him as he looked at the billionaire.
"I think I would just cut the wire." Tony said to him cutting him off.
'They're like opposites to an extent. But they shouldn't be fighting like this.' Kabir thought to himself as he looked at them.
At Tony's words Steve smirked and looked at Bruce before looking at Tony again.
"There's always a way out. Look, you may not be a threat but you should stop pretending to be a hero." Steve said to him.
"Pretending to be a hero. Like you. You're a laboratory experiment Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle." Tony said as he walked a bit more towards Steve.
"Put on the suit. Let's go a few rounds." Steve said as he looked at Tony.
"Hehehe. You people are so petty and tiny." Thor said as he laughed.
"Yeah. This is a team." Bruce said as he looked at them.
"Agent Romanoff, would you escort doctor banner to his..." Fury said to Natasha.
"Where? You rented my room." Bruce cut him off as he looked at him.
"The cell was in case we needed to—" Fury tried to explain before Bruce interrupted him again.
"In case you needed to kill me. I know, I've tried." Bruce said to him catching the attention of the others.
The others in the room looked at him when they heard him.
"I got low. I didn't see any end so I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out." Bruce said to them.
The others looked at him as Kabir looked at the exchange.
"I moved on. I focused on helping other people, I was good. Until you dragged me back into this freak show. Put everyone at risk." Bruce said as he looked at Fury.
'He's getting worked up.' Kabir thought to himself when he heard him.
"You wanna know my secret agent Romanoff? You wanna know how I stay calm?" Bruce said to her as he walked forward.
"Uhh, I know this is a tense moment but where is the sceptre?" Tony said as he looked at the place where the sceptre should be.
The rest turned their attention from Bruce as they looked at the stand alongside Bruce as well.
"It's with me." Kabir said as he showed the sceptre in his hand.
"Why did you take it soldier?" Fury asked him.
"Sergeant. And the place was becoming a little volatile." Kabir said to him.
It was then that the machine found the energy signature catching their attention as they looked at it.
"Well kids, looks like you won't be able to see my party trick after all." Bruce said as he went to the screen.
"When the Tesseract is found I will take it. The Tesseract belongs on Asgard. No human is a match for it." Thor said as he looked at Tony and Steve.
"I can get there fast." Tony said as he was about to walk away.
"You're not going alone." Steve said stopping him.
"You gonna stop me?" Tony asked him as he slapped his hand away.
"Put on the suit." Steve said in an ordering tone.
"I'm not afraid to hit an old man." Tony said getting into his face.
"Put on the suit." Steve said not backing off.
"Got the coordinates." Kabir asked Banner as said scientist removed his glasses.
"My god." Bruce said as he looked at Kabir.
But everything he had to say was left unheard of as the Helicarrier was shook causing the people in the room to lose their balance and fall on the floor. The only ones who didn't fall were Thor, Fury and Kabir.
"Put on the suit." Steve said to Tony.
"Yeah." Tony said as the two scrambled to get up.
"Try not to get angry." Kabir said to the scientist.
"I'll try." Bruce said to which he nodded.
'Better than nothing.' Kabir thought to himself as he watched Tony and Steve leave the room.
"Where do I keep the sceptre?" Kabir asked Fury.
"Keep it with you. The last thing I want is for someone else to find it." Fury said to him.
"Alright." Kabir said before he took a machine gun in his left hand and left the room.
The group consisting of Clint attacked the Helicarrier as Kabir made his way to a group of them. The information given to him by the SHIELD staff as he reached there. The moment they were in his field of vision he attacked them with him gun killing a few of them. He glanced at the sceptre and made a motion of attacking the enemies as it sent a beam of energy.
"Well, that was good." Kabir said as he took cover.
He took a grenade from his belt and pulled its pin and waited until the last second before he threw it at the enemies. They didn't have the time to get away before it blew in their face killing them.
"Last second throw. Always works." Kabir said with a smile.
He then got information of another group as he ran to confront them. He put the sceptre in his mouth as he reloaded his gun before taking it in his hand and running again.
