Chapter 46: Destiny

After the negotiation had been successfully concluded, each one went their own way. Unfortunately, Jacob did not have the same luck. During the kiss, Lucifer added a magical tracker inside Jacob's mouth. This object had the power to keep Jacob and Lucifer's locations in sync, allowing Lucifer to locate Jacob whenever necessary.

With this in mind, Lucifer decided not to take drastic action against Jacob, she headed towards the Holmes family's city, with the intention of exterminating each one of them. Abaddon, her faithful companion, followed her and the two went together to carry out that massacre.

2 days later...

Inside a moving carriage, Jacob was satisfied with the outcome of that negotiation, and now he could enjoy the journey. The wagon was slowly moving forward, and every moment the scenery he saw was different. He saw dozens of fields that were carefully worked, the sound of birds flying in the horizon and the smell of the fresh spring air. It was a true paradise for the eyes.

Jacob was very happy because he had finally received the wagon with all the resources he had asked for, accompanied by a single magical horse, which would take him to the village without worries.

During the journey, Jacob couldn't understand why Lucifer had made the comparison. Jacob knew that Varda Elentarí was a very powerful force, and he doubted that he had any power comparable to his. Nevertheless, Jacob was determined to find out what Lucifer meant and why he had made the comparison.

Jacob also pondered over Lucifer's charm, which, to be sure, had the appearance of an extremely attractive girl. So far, Jacob was mesmerized by the sensuality she exuded. Those red eyes, for sure, drew the attention of anyone.

Putting aside these frivolous thoughts, Jacob began to think about his destiny. Specifically the destiny of Grace.

He didn't want to think about it, but he couldn't stop imagining what it would be like if she were gone. Despite not showing much of this feeling, He was getting more and more in love with her, and he didn't want to imagine his life without her. He started to wonder if Grace felt the same for him, or if she was just using him as a pastime, or if she really loved him. Jacob didn't know what to think, but he knew he needed to find out...

Hours passed and another thought took over his mind...

Jacob thought about Raphael and knew that he had to prepare himself for the battle he would face. Even if victory was not guaranteed, he had to do everything he could to gain victory. He thought of all the tactics and strategies he could use to defeat his opponent. He strived to train as hard as possible, to be at his best at fight time. He knew that victory would mean the fate not only of him, but also of Grace. With that in mind, Jacob was determined to win no matter what.

But as all is not flowers, jacob recognized that he was fighting against the tide of fate. it was evident that he was at a disadvantage, because the fate had already been decided. it happened when god told him.

However, Jacob refused to give up. He knew that there might be some way to break his curse and find the happiness he so desperately sought. Therefore, he decided to set out in search of answers. Jacob traveled all over the world, searching for the knowledge that would allow him to change the course of his destiny...

Jacob sighed softly, trying to clear his mind with the weak night breeze. He looked up to the sky, where the full moon shone high. "Incredibly beautiful," he said with a professional tone.

Jacob was enjoying his trip immensely, but to his misfortune, he heard the terrifying howls of werewolves. He immediately tensed up and froze in fear, but managed to compose himself; realizing he had nothing to fear, he adopted a calm posture and breathed deeply.

Calmly, Jacob closed his eyes and could feel the presence of the werewolves around him - their deep breaths and soft footsteps created an atmosphere of tranquility that is rarely found.

After a few moments, Jacob noticed with great precision the location of each of the five werewolves and still, calmly, assessed their movements. It was noticeable the increase in awareness and preparation to face the inevitable confrontation. It was not fear that motivated the intelligence found in each of his steps, but rather the awareness that each movement should be made intelligently to avoid danger.

Jacob quickly calculated that the werewolves were about to collide against the wagon, so he decided it was better for him to leave and face the threat alone. He leapt out of the carriage window as if he were a bird flying through the night. Quickly he unsheathed his sword, the silver glinting in the moonlight, and pointed it at the werewolves. His face showed determination, coldness and calm.

The fierce beasts noticed Jacob atop the carriage and charged at him swiftly! Excitation and Adrenaline engulfed him, the world around seemed to stand still, as the force of those animals advanced towards him. The harsh sound of their roar increased with every glimpse of the length and strength of their bodies. Everything around him seemed to slow down as it passed by their incomprehensible presence, while Jacob waited coolly for the beasts to approach.

When the huge beasts entered his range, he knew there was no time to lose! The first werewolf approached, but was defeated with a single thrust. The second was not so lucky and was decapitated with a swift sword strike. The other three tried to surround him, but Jacob reacted quickly and agilely. He dodged the claws and counterattacked with vigor, delivering precise blows to each of them.

When it was all over, Jacob found himself victorious and unscathed. Jacob looked somberly at the dead beasts on the ground as he moved away because the carriage did not stop. He couldn't believe what he had seen and how those massive and fierce animals had been killed so violently. He didn't have much time to think anymore, as he soon had to continue on his way. He then got into the carriage, made eye contact with the horse, and went on quietly...

Author's note:

Philosophy on destiny and death is a complex subject that has been debated for centuries. It is often a source of fascination and curiosity for many, as it can lead to deep philosophical musings about the nature of life and its ultimate end. From ancient Greek thinkers like Socrates and Plato, to modern thinkers like Nietzsche and Sartre, many have proposed theories and ideas on the subject.

The most popular conception of destiny is that it is predetermined and unchangeable, while death is seen as the ultimate end of all life. This view is often found in religious and spiritual beliefs, where a higher power or force is responsible for creating and determining our fates. On the other hand, some thinkers believe that destiny and death are open to interpretation and can be changed or influenced by our choices and actions.

No matter what your belief may be, it is important to remember that death is a natural and inevitable part of life, and it is something that should be embraced and accepted. In the end, it is important to come to terms with our mortality so we can make the most of life and the time we are given.
