Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Lashervon and his cursed life
A pain like electricity surged throughout his whole body and it creeps like biting insects that he immediately holds into his chest as the pain came crushing in. The intensifying pain every day is worsening and sooner or later the dark curse that is inside of him might take over his whole body, his heart, and his mind. And the next thing will be destruction caused by him. Lashervon knows that so well and it worries him for he doesn't want to leave Seirena alone as he can feel that with her he can be able to hold on much longer and the curse seems to consume him slowly with Seirena beside him. But once she is away… the curse and the pain become unbearable.
"Damn that curse! This is all because of that fool of a brother of mine and that- that unfaithful woman." he spits in pure anger.
He can still remember the unfaithfulness of the woman he had loved before when he was that great warrior prince of the kingdom of Laviah, fool enough just to be used by his father to face battles for him to please his father and his brother, the man he thought he can trust as he is none other than his twin brother and the first woman he ever loved. Lilliawen, the beautiful mermaid that had love and made him whole even how much he feels neglected by his father and bullied by his brother, the woman who had betrayed his love together with his despiteful brother Drasten. Lash looks around his empty and scary throne hall.
'Those people shall suffer. The curses that I give them will make them feel how I felt. I just hope they will learn.' he thought in pure spite.
With all the anger and disgust he felt while remembering how his cursed life began he can feel his heart darkening. Not also that, he had also lost his emotions but with Seirena with him, he can still hold on to life. Seirena, the light he had nurtured from her teens into a beautiful and amazing woman. Confused and lost he just doesn't know why he felt odd feelings towards Seirena when he had lost all his emotions.
"She hasn't contacted me lately, what had she been up to? Knowing how she is I am sure she is busy with her company." Lash sighs as he rubs his aching forehead.
"Are heading on land, Your Majesty? I am sure Lady Seirena waits for you to return, you had been here for almost months." his General and his trusted friend Montidor said.
He is called Llash Vermodez a supermodel and a famous actor on land BUT… he also has a name, one that is feared and loathed by sea creatures that humans call mermaids or merpeople. Lash is a sea nymph… a merman king. He was once a great warrior, who fights darkness and evil attacking their kingdom called Laviah, and he defeated many enemies that possess a threat to every merperson at sea. But luck was not on his side, unfortunately.
"Remembering those traitors is so sickening and it is igniting this anger inside of me… how frustrating." Lash utters with so much bitterness.
Thinking about it, it is hard for him to forgive. He was at war fretting for his life and hoping they are praying for his safe return THEY, his twin brother, and the woman he loves Lilliawen or Lilly, were safe in the comfort of the kingdom BUT are sinfully lavishing in their love affair without giving Lash a second thought. Anger and hate consumed his heart that day; the dark curse given by the Dark king he defeated consumed him as his heart darkens in hatred. Before he left he cursed his unfaithful lover making Lilly the ugliest mermaid in the sea and told his brother that he will never find happiness until he will fight for it fair and square. Lashervon and his trusted warriors who fight beside him take over the evil dark king's kingdom and he was crowned the king of Vantalli, he is then called the Cursed One or the Dark King.
"Your Majesty, Lady Seirena wished you to return on land. She sent this for you." Montidor said handing him a green bottle with a letter inside.
From time to time Lashervon lives two lives after being saved by the 10 years old Seirena and her mother who he finds out was the famous human who the great mage king Vertus love and Seirena is their daughter making her half-human half-mermaid. He starts living on both land and sea after that to look after Seirena who was orphaned by the age of 13 after her mother died of illness.
"What is the status of your mission in the kingdom of Cypres?" Lash asks as he takes that green bottle of wine before sniffing that ribbon tied on its neck smelling the scent of Seirena.
That so familiar sweet scent of flowers enters his nose as he hides that smile. He can see how his right-hand general Montidor peeks at him as he had his head bowed. Vlash understands why he reacted that way, ever since he was cursed he never did smile but when he became Lash in the land he can fake smiling and laughing unlike how Seirena makes him truly smile.
'My Seirena, the only one who can make me smile sincerely… only for her, odd. I may have these odd feelings for Seirena… with her, I feel the warmth and I feel light-hearted BUT… these thoughts and feelings, may all be just because I am the one who nurtured her ever since her mother died. Besides, I think I am happy seeing her thinking of me as her friend, brother, or her only living family... am I?' he thoughts as he gives a deep sigh feeling a sting in his heart.
He only wonders why she doesn't want to join him at sea, he had seen her turn into her mermaid form but when her mother died she stopped turning. She still loves the sea but, oddly, she won't go into it anymore. Seirena is a famous singer and a modeling agency CEO and he is also working with her as Lash Vermodez, a famous model and actor.
"Your Majesty, all your orders are completed. The kingdom was buried to the ground; the king and queen are eliminated in the attack. The surviving prisoners are all locked in the dungeon ready to be changed by you to serve you Your Majesty and some caught servants are taken to the castle court to be turned to your use. Bring them in." Montidor call toward the entrance of the throne room.
Ten guards enter the throne room holding 5 beautiful mermaids; all have wavy greenish-long hair and are crying. Their tails are now beautiful legs as his kingdom is in a land hidden in dark clouds and big rocks while they are being dragged by Vlash's warriors, he knows that they have not used their legs inland out of fear.
"Look out! On guard!" someone screams outside the kingdom making Lasherv look at the guards who bowed and immediately run outside to check.
"How interesting, so, do you think those who came to save you will succeed?" Lashervone smiles devilishly as the 5 sister mermaids sneer at him in anger.
Lashervon's kingdom is in a land above the sea but it stands deep between rocks just hidden behind the dark mystery of the Bermuda Triangle that stands like a graveyard in that dark lonely place covered in dark clouds. Due to its dark state, no one can ever remember the once prosperous kingdom of Vantalli long ago under the reign of Seirena's father the mage king Vertus who got attacked by the previous dark king which Lash had defeated and cursed him.
"How does it feel to have human legs… one you never tried to use?" Lashervon said sounding as scary as his voice echoing around the kingdom; the curse is slowly taking him.
Merpeople can have their legs when they touch the land but most merpeople fear what lies above for the humans are more vicious than you can ever imagine. The sisters all look at Lashervone angrily as his warriors let them go they sit naked on his floor while their hands are bounded behind them in which they can see their nakedness making Lashervone sigh as he still respects the sacredness of a female body… all because of Seirena, BUT he must act as the dark king everyone feared. He smiles devilishly as he looks at them lavishing on their fear and anger that is making the dark powers inside of him stronger while he taps his fingernails on the armrest of his throne.
"Ah, SO!! Did you enjoy your kingdom's ruin and your parent's death?" he said with a cold smirk on his lips.
