Chapter 25: Black
It was the day of the Hokage's funeral, of course I didn't want to attend but I was forced to, I had to dress up, if you ask me, if he could have had a firmer belief instead of getting swayed by Danzo every damn time I doubt he would be incompetent.
But I guess he too was a prime example of when someone gets old they go senile, I was getting pushed by Yamato in a wheelchair as I know Kakashi was going to greet Obito again.
When we arrived I gathered the eyes of many who knew me, I think they're going to ask me how I got injured, I could even see Ino and Hinata wanting to come over here and ask me, I just smiled and waved.
The service proceeded, it took over almost two hours and all the while it was raining, when it was my turn to place the flower.
"See you next time Old Man."
I placed it and didn't say anything else, other than bothering me or playing Shogi with him we weren't particularly close since he would almost spend his time with the clan kids and Naruto.
When it was finally over, I was approached by Asuma, Kurenai and Guy asking about my condition, they were worried after all since they treated me as a joint child for their generation.
"I got attacked Kurenai-nee, can you give me a year's worth of dango money?"
"If you recover well I'll give it to you by tomorrow."
"Yes!"
We all talked a little, and I could see Jiraiya approaching me, he took out a novel, the rest of the Jonin's made way for him as he came up to me.
"You must be Yuki."
"I am, and who are you? Are you my grandfather?"
Jiraiya chuckled as he gave me the book, it was the Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi, it was brand new, no wonder I couldn't find it in my pockets it must have fell out earlier.
"You're reading this book and you don't know me?"
"Why would I care about you?"
The rest of them restrained their laughter as some of them knew about this book and I was just screwing with him, Kurenai then ruffled my hair as she wanted to tell me the truth.
"Yuki, you said you wanted to be like the fourth right?"
"Yeah why."
"He's the fourth's teachers and how do I put this, he's the writer of your favorite novels including the Icha Icha series."
Jiraiya after hearing Kurenai's comments immediately acted smug as if he had face slapped me.
"Oh."
"What's with that reaction! Shouldn't you be 'I'm sorry I didn't know' or something along those lines?"
"I'm still too tired, if it was any other day I would probably be like that."
While Jiraiya was still pondering what to say next, Homura and Koharu came up to me, the Jonins wondered what they wanted, instead.
"You're Yuki Hatake?"
"Yes."
"Even if it was in Hiruzen's will, you're too young to be the Hokage, thus Jiraiya you should know."
"How come he is a Hokage candidate?"
This time Jiraiya's eyes looked at me trying to figure out why am I one, the surrounding Jonin were also shocked excluding Yamato as he probably already knew about it.
"He said it was written in his will and I don't know what he wrote so its best if you read it, can I just go home?"
"Then we shall discuss it next time."
Jiraiya looked at me, and then the two council members nodded, Yamato then took me out of this place as I didn't want to deal with this.

"He's a Hatake right? Is he Kakashi's adopted brother or something?"
Jiraiya asked the remaining Jonin's as the Council members left.
"He is, he's strong despite his age."
"I know, he took out around 10 Root members and 20 to thirty Jonin and Chunin level Suna and Oto ninja's on his own, I can see why Hiruzen made him his successor but do any of you want to tell me also why?"
They all flinched at hearing Jiraiya's words of Yuki soloing 30 Shinobi's on his own, they then nodded but they looked at Guy, the only ones that knew of his true strength was Guy, Kakashi and Yamato.
"He has the power of Youth!"
The rest sighed as they all looked at Guy with embarrassment, but Guy was just acting as he was one of the Jonins to never tell Yuki's true strength as ordered by the Hokage lest he was targeted by Root and he wasn't sure Root was lurking or not right now and would be best to tell Jiraiya another time.

"Karin?"
The rain had stopped and I saw Karin was approaching me, she looked sad and worried when she saw me.
"Yuki, are you alright?"
"I am."
I nodded at her question, but she placed her hand in front of my mouth, Yamato already knew as he was there when Karin shared her story with the Hokage and knew what Karin wanted to do.
"Come on bite it Yuki."
"No, I already told you I won't."
"Bite it!"
"No! Your hand is dirty!"
She then tried to grab my head and open my mouth, I stopped her, Yamato laughed at our actions, from afar I could already see Ino run towards me, she stopped for a second trying to assess Karin.
"Yuki, Yamato-sensei and?"
Ino asked first, Karin who was trying to feed her hand to me adjusted her herself and her eyeglasses, she looked at Ino, sensing the situation.
"I just remembered that I left the stove on, don't want to return to my house all burnt up."
"Hey!"
Yamato left me alone, who the hell leaves their student incapable of moving the wheelchair in the middle of the street! I coughed which startled the three of them.
"Ino meet Karin, Karin meet Ino."
The two of them nodded not saying anything else, I then saw Team 7 walking on the other side, and it got me thinking.
"Naruto! Come over here!"
Naruto was startled along with Sakura, they saw me as I waved, Sasuke being Sasuke just followed after the two of them.
"Ah Karin, meet Naruto, this is the guy I told you about."
Naruto then looked at Karin, to him somehow she felt different, he closely looked at her.
"Eh You're blushing Naruto!"
Sakura caught it, as she observed Naruto, Karin on the other hand continued looking at Naruto.
"Your Chakra is warm."
"What's your name?"
Sensing the situation as well, Ino walked towards my side she then grabbed the handle of the wheelchair with a grin.
"Karin Uzumaki."
"You're an Uzumaki!? Are We family?"
"If you're an Uzumaki then we are, probably, but your hair is yellow, but I can sense some sort of familiarity with you, have you read your history books or not?"
"Studying was never his strongest suit."
Sakura told Karin who nodded.
"Well as you know we probably are relatives, do you even know the most basic history of the Uzumaki or not?"
"Stop lecturing him Karin and tell him later, come on let's eat I'm quite hungry."
"Yeah!"
Ino happily pushed me, Karin followed after, Naruto astonished to hear that he had a relative ran up towards Karin with a huge grin and started asking her about the Uzumaki, with Danzo and Hiruzen gone I doubt anyone would try to block the information.
Sakura looked at Sasuke and was about to say something only for Sasuke to scoff and follow after us, she sighed and followed as well hoping for Sasuke to notice her antics.
