Chapter 4: Growing up 1
A few days after a baby's day out with team 7 life goes on normally, well as normal for a ninja when the protagonist is not involved.
Kushina is new to taking care of a life other than herself. Minato has been her support through all of this which further deepened their bond. Kushina is looking forward to the day when they can hold their symbol of love, Kushina and Minato's child their second son or daughter.
Today Minato left for a mission with his team preparing them for upcoming Chunin exams. As Minato and Kushina already thought of Hiroto as their son. "How will Hiroto take care of his younger sibling ?" this thought reminded her of how her older brother took care of her, the same is the case for Minato's elder sister who raised him all alone.
These thoughts brought a melancholic look and tears involuntarily to her face. Suddenly she was out of a stupor after hearing a cry from Hiroto and rushed towards him and she was hit by a foul smell, so she took him to clean him.
After cleaning Hiroto she was hit by the realization that taking care of a baby is not all fun. At this thought, she began thinking about who she can dump not-so-enjoyable duties to and remembered Minato and maybe Jiraiya and that old monkey can also be used.
At this moment Minato who is in the middle of a mission, the self-proclaimed greatest pervert of all who is a spy..*cough* researching for his new book Jiraiya and a man leaving his prime in hokage chair surrounded by his mortal enemies hills of paperwork is glued to his desk drawer with a perverted smile matching Jiraiya's Sandaime Sarutobi Hizuren felt a chill down their spines. Three of them looked around to check for an enemy ambush noticing no anomaly they went back to their tasks.
Suddenly Kushina thought of Mikoto and felt pity that she can't push these jobs onto others like herself. Kushina patted herself on the back for her wits and maybe when she and Minato had a child she can push these duties onto Minato and take the position of Hokage herself.
Like this, she went to wild imaginations like making Hizuren wear a monkey costume and then perform in Konoha to help himself in retirement and imagining Danzo joining his old friend laughing out loud. Let's just say by the end of our resident paper pusher in the Hokage building has to deal with complaints about a mad witch.
Soon Kushina and Mikoto went on play dates with the babies and they soon came to love it. So they did it at least every few weeks. Time flowed like a river and soon a few months passed by, Kushina and Mikoto have a playdate scheduled that day.
In Konoha streets a black-haired woman with an Uchiha crest is carrying a toddler, that is Uchiha clan matriarch Mikoto. They are making their way toward the park. Soon Kushina joined along with a baby in her arms. When Mikoto saw Kushina she saw her best friend don her trademark smile which translates to she had planned something.
"Out with it, what did you plan this time Kushina ? " asked Mikoto with a grin.
"I've found something you are gonna love it, Mikoto," said Kushina with a devilish grin.
"Yeah like that one time, you convinced Fugaku for a haircut or that time you forced Kakashi to dress up like Gai or when.." Mikoto started to recollect her friend's antics.
"OK...OK leave them but you are gonna love this." interrupted Kushina who had shown her soon-to-be partner in crime a magazine.
Mikoto took a look at that magazine and then at Kushina with a surprise. This action repeated itself for a few minutes and soon Mikoto and Kushina looked at it with stars in their eyes and every few moments looked at kids shaking their heads and laughing out loud.
If the kids are not toddlers but a few years old they would've run from there. Because what the older wom*cough*girls are planning is the embarrassing moments that are dressing them in girls' clothes and making a treasure of memories or horrid memories when grown up it all depends on whose perspective you are looking at.
Minato and Kushina's house
Next week the ladies convinced their partners and had a lot of photos dressing them up. The older males can only sigh and watch it in silence at their wives or soon-to-be ones. Minato turned his head to see his genin team helping the ladies. Rin helped them enthusiastically but the boys are doing it in fear.
Because Obito and Kakashi escaped the same fate in the hands of Kushina by a hair's breadth which they are extremely thankful for and felt pity for the toddlers.
This went on for more than a few hours and the toddlers appear to be drowsy. So they had to end the session reluctantly.
Minato with the help of Fugaku prepared them dinner. As they sat around the table ready to eat. The door opened abruptly to reveal the future best-selling book's author, the one who provided entertainment to many closet perverts, the self-proclaimed and maybe the greatest pervert, the toad sannin Jiraiya.
"I, Jiraiya the great toad sage of Mount Myoboku.." before Jiraiya could boisterously make his entry he was hit by two fists which made him shut up.
Jiraiya looked up to see two fists aimed at two greater demons Kushina and Mikoto which made him give up his futile resistance.
Jiraiya quickly noticed two toddlers sleeping peacefully and quickly made the connection from the messages he received when he was away. He made his way closer to take a good look at the sleeping babies and understood who is who from their appearances.
The black-haired babe has typical Uchiha features as Itachi and the red-haired one as Hiroto by his traditional Uzumaki trait. Seeing the red-haired one he was reminded of the babe's father who taught him fūinjutsu together with his sister and is one of his sore spots. After that Jiraiya joined them in their meals and everyone retired to their homes.
