Chapter 2: New transfer student

"Ring ring ring ring ring..."

The class bell rang.

Mrs. Robbins, leading teacher and mathematics teacher of Grade 1 and 3, entered the classroom with mathematics textbooks and other teaching supplies.

What was different from usual was that today Mrs. Robbins was followed by another person.

A pair of neatly cut black school uniform pants and a flat and seamless white T-shirt showed off her perfect figure. The fair face seemed to have been finely crafted. Under the messy bangs was a tall nasal bridge and thick eyebrows. Those piercing eyes were full of dazzling color, as if they could see through the past and present.

Such a faint indifference exuded from his whole body, like a beautiful young elf who had been left behind in the mortal world. He was their future classmate.

Mrs. Robbins put all the teaching supplies on the podium, glanced at the new classmate who followed her into the classroom and was standing beside her, and then turned to the whole class: "Morning, everyone. Starting from today, a new transfer student Patrick will join us. Patrick, would you like to introduce yourself first? So that the students can get to know you better."

Patrick was expressionless, looking at the students with a pair of penetrating eyes as if he could see everything, and said indifferently: "I am Patrick."

Just five words. He ended his self-introduction.

Mrs. Robbins glanced at Patrick, and smiled awkwardly: "Haha. That our new classmate is rather shy. Patrick just came back from abroad, so he may feel a little uncomfortable. Please take care of him and let's welcome him again."

Looking around the classroom, Mrs. Robbins pointed to a seat near the window: "Patrick, you can sit in the last seat of the fourth column for the time being. The person in front of you is Erica, the class leader of our class. Erica, Do you know how much you take care of your new classmates?"

Erica quickly pursed her lips, nodded and said, "Teacher, as the leader, I will take good care of our new member."

Mrs. Robbins is very satisfied: "Patrick, you don't have a tablemate yet, but we will re-arrange the seat next month. If you would like to have someone to be your tablemate, you can talk to me. I will try to arrange. Alright, go and sit in your seat."

"Sure, Mrs. Robbins."

Patrick walked down from the podium and walked to the place Mrs. Robbins arranged for him.

He passed the desks in the front rows and walked all the way back. Then he gently pull out the chair, and sit down in the seat.

The breeze blew into the window, blew through Patrick's fine bangs, and at the same time blew the hearts of girls in the classroom.

The girls in the front rows couldn't help looking back at Patrick. Their cheeks flushed slightly. They turned back shyly, flipped through the books, and pretended that nothing happened just now.

Christina couldn't help to pat Annie's back: "Hey, Annie. That transfer student is quite handsome. You've been looking at him stupidly, did you have a crush on him?"

"Ah?" Annie immediately shook her head in denial: "No way. How could it be possible for me."

Leo looked back at Christina, frowned and shook his head: "You two…"

Christina grabbed the book and patted Leo on the back: "What's wrong with us? Tell me clearly!"

Leo raised his hands in surrender: "I was wrong."

"It's good to know you're wrong."

Since they were a bit loud, Christina received warning eyes from Mrs. Robbins. Christina immediately opened the book, and pretended to be fully focus.

At the same time, Annie occasionally turned her head and glanced at Patrick who was sitting by the window. His schoolbag looked familiar.

When he just passed by her, Annie saw the small black baseball with a dark pattern on his schoolbag.

The person she bumped into this morning must be Patrick, right?

"Ring ring ring ring ring..." The bell rang.

"Okay. This is the end of the class. Erica will be responsible for collecting the homework later. Also, don't forget that the monthly quiz will be soon. We must get the first place in the whole grade. Come on everyone."

After packing up the materials, Mrs. Robbins left the classroom directly.

The next ten minutes are the rest time for the group of young people.

"Christina, Annie, do you want to go for a walk together!"

The person who came was Jessica, a good friend of Annie and Christina, sitting in the first row of the classroom, a little far away from her.

Christina replied immediately: "Okay. Let's go."

But Annie hesitated: "Well, wait for me."

Annie felt sorry for hitting the Patrick in a hurry this morning. Annie thought she should seriously apologize to him.

Watching Annie leave the seat, Jessica and Christina looked at each other. They didn't quite understand what Annie was going to do.

While walking and pursing her lips nervously, Annie finally came to Patrick's side: "Hey"

Patrick raised his head slightly, looked back at Annie, and said nothing.

"Patrick. I seemed to be in a hurry this morning, so I accidentally bumped into you..."

Because of her nervousness, Annie faltered a bit when she spoke.

Erica turned sideways, looked at Annie's tense look, and smiled mockingly: "Annie, what are you doing here? If you don't know what to say, just leave."

Annie was really baffled: "Erica, I'm just looking for Patrick, not you."

Erica raised her eyebrows: " Mrs. Robbins told me to take good care of Patrick. So Annie, what are you doing here? Don't disturb Patrick if you have nothing to do. Patrick is not like you guys, playing all day long."

"You..."

Just when Erica and Annie were fighting each other, Patrick took out a pair of wireless earphones from his pocket and put them on. The whole world became much quieter in an instant, after he pressed the play button on his mobile phone.

Erica and Annie, who were still at odds, became quiet instantly because of Patrick's actions.

The object of their quarrel was so indifferent, which made two of them very embarrassing.

Erica blinked her eyes and changed the subject: "Annie, why don't you go back and hand in your homework?" Erica is the class leader and also serves as the representative of the math class.

Annie glanced at the silent Patrick, and finally chose to turn around and leave.
