Chapter 98: CHAPTER 98: STAY AWAY FROM HIM (1)
Clara looked down quickly and facepalmed herself inside. ' this is so embarrassing'. She laid her head back on his chest while he played with her hair and started teaching her its contents again, starting from the complex words and statistics which she repeated after him.
A while later, Carl glanced down at the girl whose gaze was now fixed on the book then a small smile appeared on his face. He marveled at how he only explained to her once which she instantly understand. He bent slightly and pecked her forehead. ' hehe '. At least their children might only become clumsy which he could take care of.
Clara turned on her side after some minutes as her head was now resting on his lap. She placed a hand on her stomach and looked up at him with a small frown. " Carl?"
" Mm?" He stared back at her and suddenly heard her stomach grumbled. " Hungry?" he asked with a chuckle and she nodded slowly with a pout, then he closed the book and placed it on the table.
" Lemme help." She also stood up and was about to follow him inside the private suite when he suddenly stopped her.
" You might fall from dizziness... I'll be done in some minutes, " he said and carefully sat her back on the couch then went inside the suite after pecking her on the cheek.
Clara pouted behind him and lay her back on the couch after picking up the book which he had placed on the table. Doesn't he ever get tired? She thought as he had always cooked every time they were together. She wondered if he doesn't like her cooking but quickly shook the idea off as he had eaten all two plates of her pasta that day. ' hehe, at least I would get to enjoy his delicious cuisine every day.
She returned her attention to the book then continued studying with a sigh of relief as the words were more understandable now. After some time, she was still engrossed in studying when her head suddenly perked up with a frown as she heard the door opening.
" Carl, are you done al__" she stopped mid-sentence as a frown settled on her face. It wasn't Carl who had returned because her eyes were met with an unfamiliar-looking lady who at one glance you can surely tell that she's an heiress.
How did she come in? she dropped the book then remembered that she had forgotten to close the door completely. ' Oh no, Carl's going to be mad.'
" Miss who are you please? " she stood up and that was when she noticed the girl standing behind the lady as if trying to hide her presence. ' Isn't this Carl's sister? ".
Vivian scrutinized the girl standing in front of her from head to toe. What is Carl thinking? Apart from being too beautiful, she didn't notice anything good about her because she just looks like an average citizen. ' hehe.' " I should be asking you that question. Who do you think you are and what is a lowly person like you doing here. hehe, are you also one of those employees that always try to seduce him!" She snapped and a smirk appeared on her face.
Lucy's eyes widened and her gaze darted between the two then she quickly held Vivian's arms and stuttered, " S..Sis Viv, please s..stop__" she was cut mid-sentence as Vivian yanked her hands off, almost sending her to the ground.
' Hmph, seduce him?' Clara raised an eyebrow and also met her fierce gaze. " Hehehe, and what have you got to do with that? I'm sure this is not your office, so get out."
' Oh no, where's big bro?' Lucy's eyes darted around anxiously and she quickly got up and ran to Clara's side. " Please don't fight Sister-in-la__"
" Shut up!" Vivian cut her off which made the girl whimpered to a corner. Then she sauntered forward and slowly patted Clara's shoulder with a chuckle. " I see that you're arrogant, " she said and paused for a while then leaned in closer. " If you're smart, you wouldn't want to try me. Stay away from Carl, he's taken already. I'm his fiancee, " she whispered in her ear and straightened up then sauntered toward the couch then sat down while mounting one leg atop the other as her gaze was fixed on Clara.
Clara stood still as the word fiancee kept ringing in her ears. ' This is absurd.' Carl would never do this. It's been a week since they started dating and he never mentioned any past love, how would a fiancee suddenly pop out of nowhere. She cut her gaze from the lady who was now operating her phone nonchalantly then looked toward Lucy who quickly glanced away while fidgeting with the hem of her skirt. Her frown deepened and her gaze darted to the lady again who had now stood up with a calm expression. ' Is she really his fiancee?'
" Let's go home Lucy, something suddenly came up. too bad I can't see my love. . . I'm sure Mum and Dad will inform big brother, " Vivian said while her gaze was fixed on Clara, then she grabbed Lucy's hands as the girl was trying to run inside the private suite. " You're not gonna like what I'll do next time I see you here... Stay away from my fiance, he would never be yours, " she said then strode past her while grabbing the nervous-looking girl behind her.
" S..Sis Viv w..wait, I want to see big bro." Lucy tried to free her hands which couldn't budge because of the tight grip.
" No little sis, we would see big bro when he returns home... Let's go now, Mom and Dad would be waiting." She smiled sweetly at the girl and patted her head with one hand while tightening her grip with the other then pulled her out of the office.
Clara stared at the door which was just closed and sank on the couch. ' This isn't true right? Does Carl really have a fiancee? And she is obviously living with his parent'. She shook her head, not wanting to believe any of it. ' but his sister's reaction didn't show that the lady was lying. '
