Chapter 381: Understanding Between Mom And Kids

"I am sorry for the lies. No more secrets"

She apologized and hugged them again. Then she looked at Mitchell who was staring at her.

"How can there be no more secrets when you haven't told us the whole secrets. Until there is nothing to hide, don't say no more secret"

She cautioned her mom who nodded her head in response.

"Alright, since we are all good, can we go out for lunch. There is someone I would like you to meet"

Mitchelle and Michael pulled away from her.

"You mean your new husband-to-be?"

They questioned together. Jenny said nothing.

"We met him already and he looks...,I can't place my hand in it. Forget it"

Michael further said, sharing a glance with his sister.

"But I have a question for you, mom"

Jenny sat up immediately,"What could that be?"

"We want to know if you are being forced to marry this man"

Jenny's point of view.....

I was speechless at Mitchelle's question. I couldn't say anything because I know that whatever I would say regarding her question will be a lie.

"What made you think so, my dear?"

I found myself asking.

"Mom, we are not children. A man can't appear from nowhere and suddenly you both are getting married then we found out our supposed dead father is alive. It looks like there is more to what we know and it has to do with whatever you want to us. But we won't push you to tell us. We are grown ups now and we can take care of ourselves. We don't actually need a dad, we are doing fine on our own but if this is what you want then who are we to question your intentions" She stopped and took my hand,"Just know that you don't have to do this if you don't want to. There is always an option to every choice we make. Your happiness matters to Micheal and I"

I was so touched by her words that a tear dropped from my eyes. I wiped it off and sniffed.

"I am doing this because I want to. I am not being forced to do it. Just trust me"

Each nodded their heads but I know they were not convinced with what I said. Who will? They are not kids not to understand the clearly written handwriting. I just hope that they will be happy without me. Because I would want them to meet their father and if possible stay with him. Harrison would not love them like Zain will. It's just a known fact.

Silence descended in the room while we dwelt in our thoughts. There is much that is happening at once and we all need to grasp and process and maybe understand them.

Michael was the first to speak, breaking the silence.

"So, while we were out in town, we met Mitch's carbon copy."

My brain went blank immediately. I am not sure I understood what he said.

  "Mitchell's carbon copy? How?"

Mitchelle shook her head,"A girl that look like me and she said I looked like her roommate and it turned out that we both looked like her roommate. We are wondering, do we know all our cousins or can people not from the same bloodline resemble themselves?"

I blinked severally. I didn't even know they left the house. If something had happened to them, I would have been termed a careless mother.

"Can you explain what you mean?"

Mom,She simply meant we met a girl who could pose as our younger sister. She looks so much like Mitchell. That's not the point here, The question is why would mitchelle and the girl look exactly like the girl's ghost roommate?"

Michael ended up repeating the question Mitchell asked earlier. I was able to understand what he said but what I don't understand is the ghost part. Like it couldn't be what I am thinking. Did they run into Claire and what is she doing here in White Hill?

  "Who is the girl?"

I managed to ask.

Michael stood up and walked to his bed. I thought he was going to get something but what he did shocked me. He laid squarely on the bed and closed his eyes. He was indirectly telling me to continue the discussion with Mitchelle. I turned to Mitchelle and she gave me a polite smile.

"Her name is Claire and the ghost roommate we both look like is.."
