Chapter 3: Act 3
'I should sleep early tonight, I don't want to be late for the gathering tomorrow. If I do miss it then Jake will scold me for the rest of the day' I sigh.
It's 5 am. I woke up , stare at the ceiling for a second then I search for my cell phone to browse the internet. After a few minute, I get up then get ready for the day. The time is now 6.10 am in the morning, I ask my mother to send me because we are meeting at college before departing to our destination.
Since this morning , I feel this weird feelings deep in my heart. I always use bus as a mean to commute from home to college but today I just want to be near my mother. This feeling in my heart is telling me that I will not see her again, not in this life.
Actually, I am a special child. This ability of mine, enable me to see a spirit ( ghost ), I can differentiate between a good spirit or bad spirit base on their aura also when there's something big that's going to happen to the person that I'm close to, I will get this feeling in my heart. I inherits this ability from my grandmother ( my mother's mom ).
We have arrive at college "Don't forget to call me when you arrive and also don't forget to send me a few picture" my mother smile at me.
I hesitate to get of from the car but I saw Ian waving his hand toward me 'Slow as always' I saw Ian mouthing a words to me then show his signature smirk.
I feel annoyed but I still get down from the car, I look back to my mother "Mom, I will go join my friends now" I look softly at her " I am proud to be your son and I love you the most." Without looking back at her, I said this word then walk toward my friends.
Jake change his mind about briefing at the college parking lot because he said that it is already late. 'But it is only 6.45 am' I thought. Jake tell us to get on the bus, he will do the briefing while we are on the way.
Our sitting position in the bus were, me and Ian, Carla and May sit behind us, Jake and Noah sit near the driver in front, Lydia sit alone. she suppose to sit with Jude but Jude are sitting with k ( her senior ), the two of them sit in the very back of the bus.
"Are they together?" Ian look at Jude and K.
"They are not." Carla answer, she was filing her nails "Does this design look cute on me?" Carla showing May her nails.
"It is cute, red color really suit you Carla. It match with your fair skin" May.
"If they are not together, why bother sit next to each other?" Ian.
"That is girls problem Ian. Don't ask any question, beside the senior is hot. So why not" Carla.
Ian want to answer back but I grab his arm, I look at Ian with an uninteresting eyes. I am still annoyed with how he act earlier. After Ian saw my expression, he didn't talk much. 'So he did realize that his action annoy me' I put my ear phone then play a music.
The tourism that just open are 5 hour drive from our town, so the journey was quite long. Other than us 9 , there are also 10 passengers with us on the same bus. All of them are the senior friends ( I will use the alphabet as their names, they are just an extra in this story ).
3 hour after our departure, Jake got a call from the tourism representative. The reason for him calling Jake are to tell him that the entire area was closed due to a heavy rain the day before, causing a sudden flash flood. A lot of the area need repairs and cleaning while some of the home stay are in need of reconstruction because it was badly damage by the heavy rain and flood.
"We should turn back, the tourism was closed because of the rain yesterday" Jake sigh. He then explain the reason why we can't go further. He feel disappointed and sad because he is the one who arrange this vacation trip for all of us.
All of us are silent, we don't know what to say about the news that we just heard.
"Excuse me. I suggest that we change our destination" K suddenly speaking. "Actually, I was meant to follow my other friends on their trip but I refuse them because Jude reject my invitation. So why not the eight of you join us in our trip instead."
This invitation is the true turning point in our life. Because of this, we lost some of our dear friends. We who survived, regret this moments the most.
Jake looking at the seven of us, looking for an answer in our eyes "We will accept your offer then. Where are we going?"
"Three day before holiday start, one of my friends saw this article on the internet. It is about an island but it is not like any other island, this one is different. It's location were in the country side, 4 towns away from ours. After doing a trough research on the internet, it is said that on the island there this mansion that was built century ago. This is the main reason why me and my friend want to visit the island." K.
"So are we going there for a vacation or is it because all of you seniors have an assignment to do?" Carla
"It is for a vacation" K laugh, his other friends is also laughing.
"We are going to explore the place" said one of K's friend "While in the same time, enjoying our vacation."
Meanwhile, me in my seat didn't hear any of this ( because I have my ear phone on ). I only know about this after we arrive at our destination.
