Chapter 3: Daren was happy

The jar that was in Kanaya's hand fell to the floor when Kanaya heard a familiar baritone voice to Kanaya's ears. Mama Nayra, who was stunned by what Daren said, was now stunned again when she heard her husband's baritone voice. Pak Daren then turned his gaze to the source of the sound after expressing his intention and purpose for coming to the Kanaya family's house.

Yes. Mr. Daren has another purpose in his visit to the Kanaya family's house. Mr. Daren doesn't just want to report Kanaya's attitude today. However, Mr. Daren also wants to get to know Kanaya's parents before conveying his good intentions to Kanaya's family. Mr. Daren was curious about Kanaya's attitude since Mr. Daren taught in Kanaya's class. Kanaya's different attitude from other girls attracts Mr. Daren's attention to get to know Kanaya better. Even Mr Daren wanted to get to know Kanaya better since he first met the tomboyish woman named Kanaya.

"Introduce me Devan papa from Kanaya. "I approve of you if you really want to marry my daughter, Kanaya," said Papa Devan after sitting next to his wife and then extending his hand to shake Mr. Daren.

"I am Daren Antares, Pak Devan. The killer lecturer that Kanaya always tells about to Mr. Devan and Mrs. Nayra. "I'm happy to get to know Mr. Devan and Mrs. Nayra," replied Mr. Daren while taking Devan's helping hand.

Devan laughed at what Pak Daren said and then turned to Kanaya who seemed to have a face down. Yes. Devan and Nayra are no strangers to the nickname of the killer teacher that Kanaya always tells about on Wednesday mornings. For Kanaya whether it's late to wake up or not. The killer lecturer who had the heart to give Kanaya a C grade in the fourth semester so that Kanaya felt deep hatred towards Mr. Daren, the killer lecturer. Assignments that are always collected and grades that are not too bad are obtained by Kanaya during the killer lecturer's course. But for some reason Mr. Daren gave Kanaya a C grade in the fourth semester.

"I am also pleased to meet you, Mr. Daren. When are you going to propose to my daughter, Pak Daren?" Papa Devan continued.

"Papa!" Kanaya's thoughts when Papa Devan returned to discuss Mr. Daren's proposal.

Papa Devan ignored Kanaya who was about to protest to Papa Devan. Oapa Devan ignored Kanaya who was about to protest. Papa Devan again invited Pak Daren to talk about Pak Daren's proposal. Kanaya snorted in disgust listening to the conversation between her parents and Pak Daren, the killer lecturer who was very annoying for Kanaya. Papa Devan didn't allow Kanaya to move from his seat so Kanaya was forced to remain sitting there while listening to the conversation between her parents and Mr. Daren while still eating snacks with her mouth open.

Unbeknownst to Kanaya, Mr. Daren, who was talking to Papa Devan, had been stealing glances at Kanaya who was eating snacks in an indifferent manner but caught Mr. Daren's attention. Papa Devan, who realized that the killer teacher that Kanaya had always talked about all this time, stole a glance at the eldest daughter, smiling happily.

Yes. Papa Devan feels happy that someone is paying attention to his eldest Kanaya. Even Devan's father could see from the killer lecturer's blinding light that there was love within him for the eldest Kanaya. There is no longer any reason for Papa Devan to reject Mr. Daren's proposal to Kanaya. Maybe by getting married Kanaya's attitude will change little by little. That is Papa Devan's current hope for Kanaya after marrying Mr. Daren.

"Okay Mr Daren. "I'm waiting for Mr. Daren and his family to visit our house tomorrow evening as Mr. Daren said earlier," said Papa Devan.

"Okay Mr Devan. I will take the two lucky parents to Mr. Devan's house tomorrow night. "I also can't wait to marry Kanaya, Mr. Devan," replied Mr. Daren.

Kanaya choked listening to the conversation between papa Devan and Pak Daren, the killer lecturer. Kanaya looked at Devan's father with a sharp gaze that was difficult to decipher. However, Devan's father again ignored Kanaya. Papa Devan's determination was unanimous to accept Pak Daren's proposal. Papa Devan believes that Pak Daren, the killer teacher, is a good man and loves the eldest Kanaya. Seeing Kanaya's unfriendly expression, Mama Nayra, who had always been a good listener to the conversation between Papa Devan and Pak Daren, tried to mediate between her husband and Kanaya's eldest before the umpteenth world war broke out between Papa and the child.

"Let's have lunch first. Lunch time has also arrived mas Devan, Pak Daren and Kanaya. I cooked a lot for our lunch today," said Nayra's mother.

Kanaya hissed hearing what Nayra's mother said, "Mama.. Why are you also inviting the killer lecturer to have lunch at home. Killer lecturers can have lunch outside the river, Ma," protested Kanaya.

"Kanaya... It's not good for you to be like that. "Moreover, your killer lecturer on campus will soon be your husband, Kanaya," said Papa Devan.

"It's up to you, papa. Kanaya doesn't want to eat lunch today!" Kanaya was about to leave the living room but papa Devan stopped Kanaya's footsteps.

"If you stay like this, your favorite motorbike will be sold," said Papa Devan.

Kanaya's body suddenly froze when she heard what Papa Devan said. Kanaya took a deep breath then walked wearily towards the dining room. Mr. Daren, who wanted to open his mouth again, closed his mouth again when Papa Devan asked Mr. Daren to go to the dining room and did not accept the rejection.

Devan, Nayra, Mr. Daren and Kanaya enjoyed lunch in a quiet atmosphere without anyone daring to make the slightest sound. Only the clinking of spoons and forks on plates broke the silence as they were enjoying lunch. Mr. Daren, who was sitting in front of Kanaya, kept stealing glances while he was enjoying lunch. What Mr Daren did did not escape Devan and Nayra's attention. Meanwhile, Kanaya, who was the center of attention, looked indifferent and continued to enjoy a very delicious lunch.

Yes. Kanaya really likes her mother's cooking which can always be tasted on Kanaya's tongue. Kanaya even often brings lunch to campus if she doesn't wake up late. For Kanaya, Nayra's mother's cooking is the tastiest food because it is made with sincere love and affection. No wonder Devan's father really loves Nayra's mother because Nayra's mother has sincere love for Devan's father and the family.
