Chapter 47: New Wave
Even though there were some Ninjas among Gato's group, they had no chance of winning after Team 7 joined hands with Zabuza and Haku.
As Yasui planned, they made a play with shadow clones and water clones. Gato and his men arrived to reap the rewards of two weakened forces, but they soon found themselves being surrounded by ninjas!
Haku used his ice walls to throw numerous needles at the henchmen, puncturing many of them to death.
Zabuza also went wild with his Executuioner's blade, executing every henchman in his path. He used the iron from their blood to reinforce his blade.
Team 7 also used everything in the arsenal to take down the people from Gato's side. Nobody was able to escape that battle, and bodies were littered all over the bridge. This scene made Naruto and Sasuke witness the life of a Ninja for the first time.

After the whole ordeal, the bodies were cleaned off the bridge and the construction resumed. Zabuza and Haku also acted quickly and took control of Gato's organization with the small group of mist ninjas that they brought with them after their escape from the Hidden Mist.
They immediately began purging the rotten parts of the organization such as drugs and human trafficking. They also gathered the orphans in preparation for starting a Hidden Ninja village as per Yasui's order.
On the day before the bridge finished completion, Yasui asked Kakashi to follow him. Kakashi listened and followed Yasui, walking with him around the Land of Waves.
"Do you see the people who are suffering here, Kakashi sensei?" Yasui asked as they passed by many people that were still affected by the aftermath of Gato's reign.
Kakashi looked around and said: "Of course, I see them, Yasui. But, there is little that we can do to help them. The best thing for us to do is to guard Tazuna until the completion of his bridge tomorrow. Only then will this land have hopes for the future. Don't tell me that you plan to do something?"
"Yes, Kakashi sensei. Do you remember what my dream is?" Yasui asked with his back turned to Kakashi.
"I do. Isn't it to create a peaceful world so that you can enjoy it?" Kakashi realized what Yasui was getting at.
"That's right, Kakashi sensei. I want to create a peaceful world that I can enjoy. This place here… does not seem that peaceful to me. The land is ravished, and the people are hungry. We may be able to make their life better after building the bridge, but they will suffer until their economy returns to normal. Plus, who's to say that an organization like Gato's is the last?" Yasui spoke in circles before getting to the point.
"What I mean is, I wish for you to keep Zabuza's presence a secret from the report. He is going to be taking care of the Land of Wave's economy and safety for a while. I fear that his location might be secretly divulged, and he will be targeted." Yasui pleaded to Kakashi.
"Yasui, I can't–"
"Big brother Yasui!! Thank you so much for all of the food you have been giving me and my family. I am very grateful that you provided for us. I would also like to thank you for introducing us to Mr. Zabuza and Haku." The malnourished little girl Yui came out from nowhere and bowed to Yasui.
"Hehe. I hope that they are treating you well?" Yasui squatted and patted the little girl's head.
"Yup! Mr. Zabuza had been very kind to all of us too. He looked scary at first, but he… has a very very kind heart. There's also Haku… He's very kind too. He's also very very cute." Yui smiled. Even though her face still seems malnourished, it is still as beautiful as a flower.
"That's great! Please tell them that I will meet them tomorrow before I leave." Yasui touched Yui's nose before giving her some pocket money.
"Yay! Thank you so much, big brother Yasui!!" Yui cheered and ran off to show off the pocket money that she had gained.
"Alright, you win." Kakashi raised his hands into the air. Yasui had put up a pretty hard bargain. It was hard for him to refuse Yasui's request.
"However, I still have to report everything exactly as it is to the Hokage. But, I will put in a request for the Hokage to keep this as a classified report." Kakashi compromised. As a loyal leaf shinobi, he couldn't hide information from the report.
"Alright… that's fine with me." Yasui tried his best, but it still ended up with Kakashi reporting to Hiruzen.
But that old man is going to croak soon, so all is good?
