Chapter 23: Chapter 21 Hostess of Fertility.
*Narration*
"Eh?" August was laying on his back with an assortment of weapons pointed right at him.
"What the fuck are you?" Bete aimed his weapon at August's neck. He still can't forget about the magic that he sensed earlier that day.
"Huh?" August was confused though, 'why are they asking me such a question, I am clearly human.'
"Don't play dumb with m-"
"ENOUGH!" Bete's words were cut off as Finn's voice stopped him. "Let him go."
"He clearly has some sort of forbidden magic and you want to let him go?"
"Yes." Finn's firm words made Bete go quiet, he pulled his weapon back and with a click of his tongue he took a step back away from August. The other followed suit.
"Are you sure about this Finn?" Tiona asked his captain as she also took a step back away from August. "That magic is dark, I'm sure everyone of us felt that magic."
"Yes. I know this boy." Finn answered as he looked at the downed August. "He is a good kid."
"If you say so..."
Finn walked closer towards August and offered him his hand. "Hey there August... Long time no see."
August smiled and took Finn's hand. "Hello mis- Finn."
He pulled August up and looked at him from top to bottom. He still couldn't believe that that terrifying magic came from him earlier. But he did remember from Riveria that the child really hated monsters.
"You've grown August." he smiled at him. "Now then care to explain what that was."

It took almost an hour for August to tell Finn everything, and he did not miss any detail at all, from his training with Heracles, his travel towards Orario, his registration in the adventurers guild, and the events of today. August was a mumbling mess. Well he did look up to Finn when he was young, he viewed him as a hero who saved him and they bonded quite a bit in their travels together.
August was still smart enough to hide his status as his god insturcted him to. He also hid some part of what happened earlier, and just summed it up as him receiving a bit of help from his weapon which garnered the curiosity of Bete, the twins, and Ais, who no Idea of Beowulf. The 3 veterans who had felt Beowulf magic back in the village believe the story but knows that there's more to it than what August is telling them.
August really missed Finn, as well as everyone on that journey with him, for a short moment, he viewed everyone there as family, and they have treated him as such.
"And that's what happened."
"You've had quite an adventure kid, and l can see that you've become strong now."
"Well I did make a promise." August smiled as he said that, but Finn felt a hint of sadness, he was there when August said his promise, he knows the path that August wants to take and it isn't a path that he wants the young man to take. But he said nothing of it.
"Let's continue our talk when we reach floor 18. We still need to patch you up..." Finn stopped on his words, August's wounds are actually healed, he can't believe it. 'It's the same as Ottar.' he thought to himself. He doesn't know that the spear was the one who healed August. He thought it was one of his skills.
"I don't think that's necessary. As you can see... I'm all healed up." he smiled and continue. "I'd love to continue our chat, but I really need to get going now. I still some chores to do for the old man."
"Oh what a shame. Ok then... I'll see you around August."
"See you Finn." and with a smile August took off.
Finn wanted to ask August more questions, he knows he's a good kid, but that doesn't mean that he won't treat him as danger. That was dark magic, and he was trying to take the questioning slow to not raise the guard of the boy. He was after all careful and meticulous on how to approach the topic. After all, the being from earlier was clearly not August himself.
"Why'd you let him go?" Riveria asked her captain, she knows that magic like that won't do Orario any good.
"He's a good kid, and I think staying on his good side would do us more good than harm."
"Are you sure?" Gareth walked in and join the conversation between the two.
"I'm positive. After all, even with all of the sinister in that magic earlier, my thumb didn't feel any pain. Not one bit... And we'll find out more with time."
"Ok then I trust your judgment."
Finn gave Gareth a nod and look at all the member of his party. "The events of what happened today will be kept. I will talk to Lord Loki about this. But this should never be know to others or he will have a target on his back."
All of them gave a nod and Finn gave them an appreciative smile.
"Good. Let's move out. The dungeon won't explore itself."
""AYE!!!""

August left the dungeon tired as hell, he felt like he'd been punched by Heracles. He was playing the tough guy but his body is at it's very limit.
His wounds might have been healed, as well.as everything that's been broken but that doesn't change the fact that he'd been on the receiving end of a beating earlier. He might have won but he was still pissed. He did not win by his strength alone. The victory was tainted and shallow. He slammed his hand at the wall in frustration and anger leaving cracks to appear all over the dungeon walls.
"Tsk..." he clicked his tongue. "I was fucking pathetic back there..." his eyes were dark and full of anger. He needs to be stronger.
He took a deep breath and made his way back towards the guild. He didn't forget to loot the drops from the monsters he'd slain, especially Goliath's core.
"Might as well earn some valis from that piece of shit."

"G-G-G-GOLIATH REX!!!" Sophie can't hold her voice down as she stared at the gigantic core that August had given her. She know that she's level 5 and is strong by defult. But this... This is just plain stupid.
"Yeah what of if." August was nonchalant about the whole ordeal. He wasn't proud of it, he felt like he cheated in order to get this.
"What of it? WHAT OF IT?" Sophie was flabbergasted. "You are only a part of the few adventurers who soloed a monster rex. Why aren't you more proud of this."
"..." August just scratch his head and looked at the core, how can he be proud of something he didn't do by his own power?
"Nevermind that then. Do you know how much valis can you get with this core alone. Two hundred thousand valis. That's a lot of money, along with the other core that you've collected you have a sum total of 420,069 valis in just one day of dungeon diving."
"Oh nice."
"Nice? NICE?! That's all."
"What more do you want me to say?"
"..." Sophie couldn't believe it. Her mouth was gaping at the sheer audacity of August. Any other adventurer would be up to the moon and back with this much of an earning in one dungeon dive yet this man doesn't have that much of a reaction. It was more than her yearly income for crying out loud.
"Well I will leave my money here at my account, and I'll just have 10000 on me. The old man wanted something good to eat so I'll splurge some of it."
*Droll* the prospect of food made her droll, she was leaving off some hard breed, dried meat, and soup for a couple of weeks now so hearing about how he'll get something good to eat made her feel hungry.
August sees this and grab a piece of clean cloth and wiped the droll off her mouth. "You can come with me to buy if you want. I really don't know any of the good restaurant here in the city, and you can maybe help me pick a spot in exchange for food."
"YES!!!" Sophie blinked a couple of times, that came out so fast and loud. Her face turned red as he cough and said in a more calm manner. "Yes... I'd love too."
"...ok then." August was taken aback by the burst of eagerness by the lady elf. But forgot about it the next moment. He really needed to replenish his energy after what happened today.

August waited outside the guild for Sophie, she was clocking out and asked him to wait for him while she's changes into something more comfortable. August was fine with that, so he waited outside.
He could have sworn that he saw lord Hestia walking about with a huge bag on his back filled with weapons and armor while shedding tears and pouting. But he paid it no mind, it was not his problem.
Sophia finally arrived after a few more minutes wearing a light blue sundress, and some beige leather pants. She looks beautiful in the dress and receive a couple of lustful gazes from the adventurers around.
August on the other hand was thinking about what's good to eat and bring home to his god. He was after all complaining about how the food was bland so he really wanted the input of a local on where to grab something good to eat.
"So shall we go." August smiled at the young elf which made her blush slightly. She never can get tired of the boy's charming boyish smile.
"Hmm..." she nodded and took the lead, hiding her face from August as she can feel.her face heat up. "I know a good place around here, it's called the hostess of fertility. It searve good food and good ale."
"Ok then. Lead the way." August followed behind the elf as they made their way towards the hostess of fertility. Little did he know that he'll have another unexpected reunion from someone 9 years ago.

They arrived at the pub, it was a homely place, warm and comfortable with many people dining in, laughter and drinks are plenty inside the pub as the waitress ran around to deliver the food and drinks of the rowdy adventurers that are dining and drinking in.
"Another order for table 8!!!"
"where's my ale, table 4 ordered it ages ago!!!"
"I need a roast beef and potatoes for table 5!!!"
The place was brimming with energy, and August could feel the the diners where enjoying themselves to a good meal.
"Wow this place is nice."
"Of course. I wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't." Sophie gave August an ear to ear smile. Finally she could eat something good after a long time. Gods she really needs a promotion.
"Can I help you ma'am sir?" a waitress came to them and greeted them politely. It was a young girl with light brown hair, almost yellow, almond shaped eyes with a brown color, she was wearing the same green maid uniform like the others and has a charming polite smile plastered on her round face.
"Table for 2 please." Sophie answered for the group as the waitress nod and signaled for them to follow her.
"Here we are... So what can I get you two?" she sat the two down as she moved her hands towards a small notebook and a magical quill to right their orders down.
Sophie looked at August, after all it was his money, so she let him decide on what they are gonna eat, after all no matter what the food will always come out great here.
August looked at the menu and put his hand on his chin. The food looks divine, and the smell was intoxicating.
"we'll get the ro-"
"August?" before August can order, a voiced called out to him, he looked around and spot a familiar face.
"M-Miss Mia?"
"It really is you." Mia rushed in and gave August a big ole hug. She was one of the adventures closes to August back then. And August felt happy to see Mia, after all he treated August like a mother would treat her son. He was always at Mia's shoulder listening to her stories when she's not with Shakti or the rest. So seeing Mia really made August's day. He gave Mia a hug back. "Oh child it really is you. You've grown so much."
"I miss you too miss."
"Oh hush... You drop the miss, call me mama mia like everyone else here." she turned towards the waitress from earlier and spoke. "Lunoire dear give this man a feast, and get our special fruit ale for him, he'll be eating good today."
"sure thing!" Lunoire skilled and rushed at the kitchen.
"So tell me, how have you been, we've got a lot of catching up to do." Mia gave him a big smile as she let go of the hug to face the boy.
"Oh where should I start?"
"Start from the beginning... I want to hear everything."

That's chapter 20 done, how do you guys like the story so far?
Sorry about not posting yesterday, went to a festival outside the city as one of my favorite band was playing that nigh. (December Avenue for all of those wondering.) I got home about 2ish and was drunk and tired as hell.
