Chapter 4: The hero who does not know about his fame

"Shut up, Mica!"

Alex lightly tapped his owl's cage to stop Mica from playing for a moment, after seeing how playful Mica was he was already regretting buying the pet, and he owed it all to Mica's boisterous personality which was very different from his own.

Mica is a beautiful owl, he can't deny it even if wants to. The shape of her wings and long tail are exactly like those of an eagle. Her round head, her yellow eyes, her upper body is dark brown and her lower body and tail are covered with white spots, as if she is noble and rare, but who would know that in reality this pet has a playful heart hidden in her beautiful appearance?

Alex touched the cage again with a strong need for this owl to stop singing so conspicuously, and finally after many attempts it seemed to calm Mica down, so he had the opportunity to avert his gaze and watch all that figure going to Platform nine and three quarters with a similar luggage to his own.

His eyes moved through the crowd, he had been so curious about this whole new world that he wanted to learn everything that one should know naturally if one belonged to this world.

At that moment, Alex who was awkwardly pushing a large amount of luggage with Mica in his cage, on top of the luggage, standing silently between the Platform between the ninth and tenth Platform of King's Cross train station, because he really didn't know how to get to the supposed train that would take him to Hogwarts, and the smartest thing he could do was to wait and see if he could find any passerby who knows how to find the place.

Alex was no fool, he knew that the best and least tiring way to find the place where he would be taken to Hogwarts was to wait for other people and see how they do it. Not everyone was a wizard, that was something he was very clear about, so he refrained from asking people in the vicinity.

Only now Alex regretted not asking Professor McGonagall more details, what a bad admission and selection system Hogwarts had, how is it that a Muggle could adapt to all these changes in such a short time? If he were a regular kid, he would possibly start crying now.

"Hey, little buddy!"

An old voice sounded behind Alex, and Alex who was deep in thought turned his head quickly. This voice belonged to an old woman who was dressed in green and carried a huge brown bag in her hand. On the other side, she was holding a boy with a nervous face.

"First year student at Hogwarts? From what I see, you can't make it to the train platform, am I right?"

Seeing that Alex nodded, the old woman smiled and said kindly as she nudged the boy to her side, "Neville is also a first year student."

After saying that, the old woman patted the boy who said shyly, "Hello, I'm Neville Longbottom."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Alex Aodhan."

Alex immediately noticed clearly that the old woman frowned instinctively when she heard his name, if it wasn't for his special ability to read people and know what they were feeling, he wouldn't have been able to tell. Even if the old woman hid it well, he was very sensitive to the feelings of others and this made him alert. Because of the liking this old woman showed directly to him for no reason.

"There seems to be something bothering her about my family name? No, I shouldn't know my parents or what my last name actually means, it seems that something is not as simple as I'm seeing it..." Alex thought silently while showing a slight smile on the outside.

Regarding this matter, Alex paid attention to this detail and thought that it would be necessary for him to find out what kind of parents he had and where he comes from to know the meaning of this that left him confused.

"You can follow us..."

As this old woman said so, Alex with his small body pushed forward. Contrary to his initial enthusiasm, he had been left very confused and without really understanding what had happened he continued forward.

The boy named Neville Longbottom was still smiling shyly and looked back at him with a slight smile.

Alex smiled back, expelled those bitter thoughts in his mind and quickly followed the duo towards that brick wall.

It was a wonderful feeling, as if at that moment, everyone around him and perception were disoriented.

When he came to, Alex found a huge, long, crimson steam locomotive parked next to a platform full of passengers. At the top, there was a sign that read; Hogwarts Express, nine and three quarters.

Alex looked back and saw that the place where the platform door used to be was now a wrought iron arch where it likewise read; Platform nine and three quarters.

"What a wonderful feeling..." Alex thought with a nice smile, but when he looked around to thank that old lady, she was nowhere to be found.

Alex then looked back at the entrance door through which he had entered this magical place and expressed his sincere admiration for this magic thing, especially how he could be from one place to another in an instant.

Next to him, the smoke from the steam locomotive wafted over the crowd chattering by his eyes, children waving goodbye to their parents, and cats of all colors running over people's feet

"Bye mom, dad see you later and I hope you take good care of mom, I'll send them letters every day."

Only now, Alex wondered what he needed an owl for if there was no one to send a letter to, he had no one.

Bouuuuu!

Amidst the buzz of the crowd and the noise of luggage being dragged along the ground, the owls also swarmed piercingly, answering each other with strange songs.

"Mica, this is no time for you to want to sting people."

This time, Alex did not desperately try to stop Mica's actions, because he himself could not calm down in this crowded place either, he looked around nervously and, after thanking some prefects who were helping the disoriented children and families, he quickly climbed into the locomotive.

The place was very large and there were children of all ages, so after opening a cubicle for the eleventh time, Alex finally found an empty seat and sighed with relief. This cubicle was surprisingly empty, there was only one little girl sitting in this place. She had long, messy brown hair, which Alex was interested in touching, she had a pretty and charming face, her concentrated gaze was directed towards the book she was holding in her hands, apparently somewhat bored.

"Mmm, hello, are you expecting someone here?"

"Of course not, please come in." The girl looked up at him, which caused Alex's gaze to meet hers. Feeling more closely what could be observed, he sensed that she was nervous. Which to Alex really left him confused.

When he received the words of invitation, Alex first placed Mica next to the seat and by the looks of it his pet shouldn't be in this place but that didn't matter to him, then he turned his gaze to the heavy suitcase and rubbed his face until it was slightly red at the thought of the weight.

"Do you want some help?" The girl asked eagerly.

"This suitcase is too heavy even if we carry the two of us together, but thanks, this might work..."

Alex sighed and flashed a confident smile, pulled his wand from his robes and said, "Wingardium Leviosa!"

The heavy suitcase wobbled and moved slowly towards the corner of the compartment under Alex's somewhat inexperienced control. If he was honest, this was causing him a lot of work and he tried with all his magical skills to move the suitcase without causing a mess in this small cubicle, he was already starting to regret showing off in front of the others. Under the strange singing of her pet Mica and the look of the girl next to her, she looked at Alex with her small impressed eyes.

After a few seconds that felt like forever to Alex, she looked to the side and wiped the sweat on her forehead as she asked, "What's wrong?"

Alex was happy that this had gone well for him, but then he felt a little uncomfortable being looked at by this girl, so he asked her to find out what was going on.

"I read about that spell in a textbook, but so far I haven't tried it. Did you also read it ahead of time like me? Oh, I mean, you're someone amazing. I just tried some simple spells a couple of times."

"Just simple spells, well, I needed to practice, of course, no one in my family knew about magic until recently, so when I got the admission letter, I was quite surprised, but super happy because, I mean, as far as I know, this is the most excellent magic school in the magical world."

"I had to memorize all the textbooks, of course, I just hope that works out so I can live up to the requirements of this school. My name is Hermione Granger, what's your name by the way?"

Now it was Alex's turn to be surprised, due to his withdrawn personality when he finds out a lot more about people with his strange ability, he wasn't very good at communicating with others, the girl in front of him spoke so fast, and halfway through her words Alex was a little confused.

"Oh... I was thinking about some other things I forgot...My name is Alex Aodhan, nice to meet you Hermione."

Hermione was obviously not satisfied with Alex's response, and just as she was about to continue speaking, the compartment door opened again.

"I'm sorry..." This time it was a small boy with tears in his eyes, and after rubbing his each he said, "I want to ask, have any of you guys ever seen a toad?"

Alex, with his face slightly red due to recent events, noticed that this little boy was exactly Neville Longbottom from before, and quickly stood up and asked, "Oh! Neville, what happened to your toad not being next to you?"

"Alex!" Neville also recognized Alex when he saw him, wiped the tears from his eyes again and said, "My toad who was given to me by my uncle always runs away, everything seems like he doesn't like to be near me."

Alex, who was grateful for the help this boy's grandmother offered at a time when he needed someone to explain to him how to get to the station, wanted to repay her thanks and decided to help him.

"Let me help you find Michigan J. Frog!" Alex said, for now he didn't want to talk so intensely with Hermione even though his words in these kinds of moments usually came out of his mouth like a hurricane just like her, but actually now he wasn't so good at doing it when he wanted to, rather that came out naturally.

"I'm going to go find the Michigan Toad too! What a great name, I really like his character." Hermione closed the book, and when she saw Alex's surprised look, she smiled triumphantly as she left him surprised when she recognized Michigan.

"My toad's name isn't Michigan..." Neville muttered in an ant voice that went unheard by Alex and Hermione.

The three of them started searching from the front of the locomotive and asked in every compartment they passed, Alex noticed that Hermione was obviously very happy about this behavior of helping others, which made him sigh with admiration, this feeling really pleased him. Sometimes he helped ants carry their food, sometimes he helped cats and dogs, so a toad was not much different and he was secretly grateful that Hermione was so enthusiastic, for some reason, he felt much calmer.

Alex opened a compartment door again after knocking lightly and asked politely, "I'm sorry, did anyone see a toad? Our friend's toad got lost, we're looking for him and it would be helpful if you knew anything."

This time there were only two children standing opposite each other in this cubicle, one with dark hair and blue eyes, along with a pair of worn-out glasses, and the other with bright red hair and very curious freckles on his face.

And when the three of them peeked out the door, the red-haired boy was pointing his wand at the motionless mouse in his lap.

"Transfiguration spell? He's a genius, obviously I tried it many times to turn a cup of milk into a mouse to no avail.... Seems like there are talented wizards in this place who are my age, I should take a closer look at what he's about to do, maybe I'll learn something." Alex thought with eyes sparkling with excitement.

"No, we haven't seen any toads." Said the redhead as he shook his head.

"How did you do it? I mean the transfiguration spell they don't even mention in the first year's books." Alex's words slipped out of his mouth without him being able to help it.

"Oh, I'm sorry, what did you say?" The redhead was a little confused.

Hermione on the side smiled, pulled Alex, who was still about to say something, and said, "Are you doing magic? Then go on, we want to see what you're about to do."

"Huh...?" Alex was flabbergasted and before he knew it he was already sitting next to Hermione.

"Oh... well." The red-haired boy looked a little overwhelmed, and cleared his throat nervously at the sight of so many pairs of eyes staring at him, "Sunflower, sweet cream and ham, make this stupid fat mouse turn yellow."

"Is that a spell?"

Within seconds there was a dead silence in the cubicle.

Nothing happened.

Alex didn't know if this red-haired boy was more embarrassed than him, as he had subconsciously thought of him as a talented young wizard who had just transformed an object into a mouse.

Rubbing his little face again, Alex said, "Please ignore what I had said before, uh.... My name is Alex Aodhan, the one standing in the doorway is Neville Longbottom, this is..."

"You don't need to say it, I'll introduce myself." Hermione interrupted Alex's words perhaps very rudely, but there was always a sincere smile on her face. It was obvious that Alex was embarrassed for misunderstanding things, so she decided to intervene and in a happy tone said, "My name is Hermione Granger, who are you?"

"My name is Ron Weasley." Mumbled the redhead, looking a little frustrated.

"Harry Potter..." Said the bespectacled boy next to him.

This slightly startled the group that was looking for Michigan.

"My goodness, are you really Harry Potter?" Asked Hermione quickly, "There's a lot of talk about you... Of course, after buying some magic-related books, you get mentioned a lot."

"They mention me?" Asked Harry a little confused.

"My goodness, don't you know" Marveled Neville who so far hadn't spoken.

Alex smiled slightly, he was well aware of Harry's embarrassment and it gave him a well hidden joy inside him.

"A famous savior who doesn't know his fame?" Thought Alex to himself.
