Chapter 5: Time flows at a steady pace
It baffles me how unscientific my previous life was. How having no muscles and nerves should not make it possible for an undead to move, but magicka could make the impossible possible.
There is no magicka in this world, though I can take care of that with the Draugr mark etched on my soul.
Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, and Restoration are performable but they take some effort. They are based on intent rather than the presence of magicka here which is unexplainable.
This magicka needs intent and will to be performed, so while magicka is absent I figured out that the magicka is fueled by my stamina, which was verified by my increase in hunger after performing a single fireball spell.
The stamina expended is not worth it for now, but the future is full of possibilities. As long as stamina is expanded, it may result in conjuring large spells and summons, which while of no need as it is safe to live world, can be helpful in stressful conditions.
This also brings me to the topic of Thu'um, which is easier to perform as it is not magicka but speech that powers the Thu'um.
The Thu'um is just dragon tongue, which compiles of speaking truth in draconic language.
It is stated that the Thu'um is the language of greater beings, which when spoken is the truth or makes the statement truth if the speaker will it and has the power to back up his statement.
This was the reason that many dragons who spoke to humans and other races accepted languages of another kind when using deception and lies, unorthodox behaviors to the noble peerage of Dragons.
Hence most of the Thu'ums, speak I can.
And the knowledge, the knowledge here is infinite. There are infinite aspects to study here in the universe, most of which we can not even think about.
I was conflicted as I was given the choice to choose my line of study, which was ever-expanding. I had all the time to choose but it would severely limit my knowledge.
I was just nearing my 11th birth year this summer, and the choice I was presented with was for children pursuing higher studies. I was proud of my learning and understanding capabilities.
I may be into studying but it was not limited to bookish knowledge only.
No, I pursued what was taught to me and read by me practically. My gifts were early noticed by some and I was adopted at age nine. This did not limit me but opened doors to new ways as my adoptee were mildly rich. They were doctors, a profession I respected that had a close association with the living. They did not restrict me in any way and I could feel love for me them.

This year held an important event for me. As of today, the 12th of July 1969, I am 11 years of age, but that was not important.
Apollo 11 was launched for man's adventure to the moon, which held great importance in my heart if successful.
I could feel that success was imminent.
And I was right. As of the 21st of July, 1969 man conquered the moon, a dream which I did not expect I had but it lit joy in me as a child. (note- the fandom has some problem with the exact date when dumbledor becomes headmaster, it was stated between 1966-70 he was but then dippet was reinstated for one the year 1970 so he will become one later)
I was watching the program on my television, it was a device that could show you distant events. There was a knock on the window.
Strange.
It persisted. I opened the window to welcome a Bubo scandiacus or a snowy owl that held a letter in its beak.
I took the letter and the owl left the window as if it was a carrier of sorts.

At the time I had finished reading my letter, an old man was at the door, I glanced at him from the window and he smiled at me like sage.
"May I enter son, I have matters to discuss with your parents."
My mother was already at the door to welcome the man, as he introduced himself as Albus Dumbledore, the man who had written the letter to me.
"Sir, madam, please sit for I have to explain my presence here and what path young Benedict may have in the future."

This is just for me not to make a chapter less than 1000 words, otherwise, it becomes a habit, and I was just 10 words short. But the chapter had to end with the introduction of Dumbledore to make the next one more interesting, you know the gist.
